Does time of day effect quality or crap of IRKs?
4Something I have always wondered about. When seeing others IRK reveal, there are some that are truly meh and some that are pretty damn awes*me (try to figure that out meh-bot!). Does the time that you defeat the c#ptcha (again attempt to trick the bot) able to snag that coveted IRK effect the meh-ness of your loot?

No effect.
Yes effect.
@ELUNO and…?
Not in a predictable way
/8ball Any effect?
My reply is no
/giphy Special effect?
No effect? yes effect? Hmm, maybe next reveal we should compare purchase times as an experiment
I imagine a meh “justice is blind” statue with Irks head and one eye uncovered. Such is the nature of the IRK.
@cfg83 So Meh justice is “vision challenged” ?
@macromeh From what I can tell, Irk’s “eyes” are made from a Sharpie pen, so that sounds about right :
Effect? No. Affect? Maybe.
Mass Effect
@jheaton6 Mass Affect?
Just the bubble wrap effect, right @Felton10!!
@tinamarie1974 The bubble wrap is a very predictable indicator of the quality of your IRK. Thanks for giving me credit for that discovery.
@Felton10
Why does it matter, you’re gonna regret buying anyways, isn’t that the point?
Avoid 12a-1159p
So I have been doing this for a while and have been keeping track. Here is what I’ve found:
If you score the first one, it tends to be regrettable.
The second one is usually disappointing.
Third one is almost always lamentable.
I find the fourth to regularly be pitiful.
Avoid the fifth if you can, because that’s the miserable one.
Sixth is often full of unwelcome items.
Lucky seven does not apply when it comes to IRKs so you’ll want to stay away from that one.
Avoid eight like the plague, as it is almost always deplorable.
Nine will quite possibly make you cry.
And ten takes you full circle back to the first one.
But if you have a cat, the cat will likely enjoy the box.
@curtise my cats are weird, they don’t like boxes
@curtise My cats love the boxes. If your cats would like to be box pals with my cats, your cats can send the empty boxes to my cats and my cats will send your cats something they enjoy…although probably in like a bubble mailer or something. My cats don’t like to give up their boxes.
@curtise @gt0163c one of my cats likes to pop bubble wrap. But it has to be the big bubble wrap. It’s very funny to watch him carefully stick out one claw to pop it!
@curtise
There were 15 listings this past Mehrathon.
I have never got one of the 12a-10a ones, but have been lucky enough to get a good many of the later in the day offers. I haven’t noticed any trend, but then again, I have never scored something of incredible value besides a new robotic vacuum. Maybe I need to stay up late?
@KNmeh7
My robotic vacuum was a return and broken
I can only speak from personal experience and observation, but as one of the few who has gotten the best IRK of their particular mehrathon that one was ordered on the first IRK of the day and shipped out first.
That being said it seems the ones shipped at the beginning seem to have more quality junk (if there is such a thing) and the ones shipped at the end have more dreck as if they are just trying to finish the shipping and move on.
@Felton10
Not always true. In the past, that’s where the quality shit has come from. I remember people getting brand new shark vacuums and sets of pots and pans at the end.
@Star2236 Well like I said my conclusion was based primarily on my experience of when I ordered mine, when it was shipped, when I got it and the amount of bubble wrap.
I’d imagine for the most part they are creating these over time throwing crap in boxes as they have it so it’s a crap shoot - remember they do a minimum of 1000 of these, this time more… and they just don’t have time for that. Unless, of course, they have a couple of unique items that they think might be a match for someone on the site, some odd thing that there will be added hilarity or appreication if given to a specific person, or whatever private reason meh has for whatever it does. Or it could all be completely random and the few times there seems to be a “match” it is just coincidence. The overlords will probably never tell to keep us guessing.
Right, but the big question is, who receives the pocket change?
@Dakini I regret to inform you but it is my understanding (yeah I fell for it first too thinking meh thought it would be entertaining to do) someone jumped the gun with April Fools Day and so… no actual meh provided pocket change.
@Kidsandliz I fell for it too, but then I tend to be gullable … eh, hopeful anyway. I realized though that it was a prank too, was just joking with this last comment.
@Dakini Well meh can do (did far more in the past) weird shit at times so it was plausible even though it turned out not to be real.
There is no effect, only regret.
@RiotDemon Regret Effect?
There is some difference in the time of day. I know a friend of mine and I a couple of times have gotten an IRK at the same time and got the same stuff. I believe their process is to make the IRKs in bulk and then send them out in the order they are batched. What’s in them and the quality probably varies.
Saying that, I did notice the krugerands and the money tended to land in the Irks of very active people on the Meh forums (alas, I was apparently amiss in the forums as of late).
@densa
That wasn’t really in their IRKs, btw.
@densa @RiotDemon In real life, we only got Freddy Krugerands. Nobody wants those.
@RiotDemon Thanks…my hopes are now crushed.
@densa sorry to crush your hopes but I hope you stick around the forums.
@densa There is some good stuff in the IRKs-to wit the new x box series x worth $ 500 that I got in the last one in December. Even if you don’t get anything good, the excitement of opening a box with no clue what is in it is certainly worth $ 5 plus the laugh you will get as you wonder where they got this shit from. BTW-it took me 20 IRKs to get that good one so I (and probably everyone else) is a glutton for punishment.
@densa @Felton10 I agree. The fun and anticipation of not knowing HEAVILY outweighs the disappointment once the box is opened.
Only adversely.
I think the scientific term for all of this is anecdata.
@blaineg Adding this to my vocabulary along with Elon Musks “RUD” (rapid unscheduled disassembly)
