My family has/is doing the AncestryDNA one. Their interface is nice, I like that you can build your family tree. If you pay the subscription, you can get additional information as well. One example, I put my mom’s information in, and it suggested (Marked with a leaf) some documents. It pulled scans of the immigration documents her parents filled out when they came to the US through Ellis Island in 1951.
If you end up going that route, I have a referral code thing that I can send you. I’ll get a $10 amazon gift card, and it will take $10 off your/their price.
Hi @Bogie! Haven’t seen you in chat in ages. HNY! and all that.
I got an AncestryDNA kit on Cyber Monday tho I’ve still not sent in my spit for analysis. I’ll be glad to help you get that $10 Amazon gift card, if the offer is still available.
@baqui63 the $10 thing is for the kit itself, if you already have it, it’s not going to help you, unfortunately. Unless you’d want to buy another kit, which seems like a waste of money.
@Bogie My older daughter is interested, so it might work, though I also saw something about a buy 3 get one free deal, which could also work for us (daughter, son-in-law, other daughter and ex-wife).
@baqui63 Sorry I fell off the radar on this. I was waiting for my Mothers order to go through as their referral program is… Sketchy. In the end, it didn’t work and she didn’t get the saving. It is possible she did something wrong as I didn’t watch her order the kit, but she did know she needed to click the link then order… So I’m not going to recommend doing the referral code. Sorry for the false savings hope!
I did the Ancestry DNA for my wife my son and his girlfriend for Christmas when they were on sale for 69 dollars. It was well worth the money. They sent an email with the results in about four weeks after we sent the kits off. They even had it broken down to one percent of this and 2 percent of that it was really detailed. They also tell where your DNA migrated to here in America. I am very knowledgeable about where my side of the family come from and where my Ancestors settle and Ancestry DNA nailed it they got it right.

Sorry. I did a search for dna and whatnot but did not search for d-n-a.
No worries. But a google search of “dna meh.com”, it is the third listing.
A very uncool but cheap option is to get one in the actual Walmart store- yesterday 23andme kit was 29.97.
Wow! I would totally spring for that if there was a Walmart any where near by.
