Always! I don’t like to sleep past noon if I can avoid it. Kinda feels like you’ve wasted half a day if you do. Quirky, I know, but that’s what makes me unique!!
@IndifferentDude mine is same reason but 8:20am. Am a morning person so 8:30am is like noon to me and am asleep around 10 pm (even New Years Eve sometimes).
My alarm clock is my cat that claws the air vent at 7:30am without fail to get fed. She even adjusts for daylight savings. I don’t understand how it’s possible. Someone help me.
@tonylegrone Same, except it’s two dogs that pounce on me anywhere between 6-6:30. Sometimes they try at 5:30, but I shut that down. During the week, I’m just up from that point, but on the weekends I will go back to sleep and then set an alarm for 10.
An alarm on my day off means I was comatose the day before when I stopped my alarm but did not turn it off or reset it. And that means I am starting my day in a particularly foul mood.
When I don’t have to work I stay up later but my alarm is set for 6:30AM weekdays and 7AM weekends. On weekends I get less sleep but I find that keeping a similar schedule makes it easier to wake up every day. I only nap if I’m sick.
I’m up at 0430 weekdays. On Sunday (today), I set the alarm for 0600. I always wake before the alarm anyway and prepare for a run with my neighbor/friend. If I sleep six hours a night it’s a miracle.
i mean, if i have somewhere to be, then yes. but then is it really a day off? not that things like family gatherings or doctors appointments or whatever are “work” but…
Monday through Saturday pretty much 7am sharp (sometimes as early as 6am though) foundation workers (apartment building so this has been going on a while and will continue for a while longer) and the racket they make. Baring that the backyard neighbors put their dogs out to bark somewhere between 6:30 and 7am daily.
I usually don’t set my alarm on my days off, but that usually only means maybe an extra 15-20 minutes of sleep. If the pets don’t wake me wanting food/let out, then I just naturally wake up around the same time anyway.
I forget to turn all of the alarms on my phone off. That’s why. However, I leave the phone on the other side of the house on weekends so I don’t hear all of the notifications from the family texts, therefore, I miss a lot of alarms.
Since I work second shift (1445-2315) I do not generally need to set an alarm… ever. The only time I do is if I have to work a double overnight then go back in with less than 8 hours off. Off days are “get up whenever” days.
Not unless I have to.
I have a 3yr old that hasn’t given me a chance to set an alarm for 2 years. 4:30-5am every single day since he was one.
@show_the_maw
You’ll miss it when he’s a broody preteen.
Trust me.

I hate being late for non-work related activities, like fishing, golfing, hiking, skiing, inoculating…

@tonylegrone She has trained you well. Very well.

As a family care-giver, I have no day off per se.
@SpyreFox I was about to say… Days off? How quaint!
Depends on my plans for the day

Gotta keep those circadians in rhythm. Absolutely yes.
In the past six months, maybe one day without setting an alarm. Volunteer gigs and a weekly Sunday coffee with friends means getting my a$$ up!!!
An inconsistent sleep schedule is a migraine trigger for me.
That’s what cats are for.
I don’t set an alarm in general. I don’t like waking up startled. I’m pretty reliable about waking up when I need to thanks to my bladder.

My wife is up between 5 and 6 every day, no matter what, so I haven’t set an alarm since the millennium.

I set my alarm for 11:30 on the weekends just so I don’t sleep the day away.
@Star2236
Gotta be up in time for lunch… Am-I-rite?

Can’t forget to turn it back on if you never turn it off.
