@tonylegrone Same, except it’s two dogs that pounce on me anywhere between 6-6:30. Sometimes they try at 5:30, but I shut that down. During the week, I’m just up from that point, but on the weekends I will go back to sleep and then set an alarm for 10.
When I don’t have to work I stay up later but my alarm is set for 6:30AM weekdays and 7AM weekends. On weekends I get less sleep but I find that keeping a similar schedule makes it easier to wake up every day. I only nap if I’m sick.
I forget to turn all of the alarms on my phone off. That’s why. However, I leave the phone on the other side of the house on weekends so I don’t hear all of the notifications from the family texts, therefore, I miss a lot of alarms.
Since I work second shift (1445-2315) I do not generally need to set an alarm… ever. The only time I do is if I have to work a double overnight then go back in with less than 8 hours off. Off days are “get up whenever” days.
I usually don’t set my alarm on my days off, but that usually only means maybe an extra 15-20 minutes of sleep. If the pets don’t wake me wanting food/let out, then I just naturally wake up around the same time anyway.
Monday through Saturday pretty much 7am sharp (sometimes as early as 6am though) foundation workers (apartment building so this has been going on a while and will continue for a while longer) and the racket they make. Baring that the backyard neighbors put their dogs out to bark somewhere between 6:30 and 7am daily.
