@craigthom I am old. If that was from 1993, I was already old then too Suppose I was watching different things than everyone else or wasn’t much of a TV watcher during that era.
@Wimateeka yes and more yes. found this a couple years ago and it’s an annual Christmas tradition with my kids (although they don’t see the novelty, they endure it for dear old dad).
I’m pretty sure I had some toys of these, and you could move the arms and they would hold, kind of like my Gumby and Pokey toys. Actually I don’t know for sure if I had Gumby.
My grandfather collected all of the figurines. I remember (before Ebay), he was stoked when my little brother and I found the Sax player (which was the only one he didn’t have at the time) at a flea market and bought it for him. No clue what happened to those when he died, but I’m sure glad they didn’t end up here!
I am sure that my soul was tainted by some contact with raisin-derivative artifacts. Don’t have any memories of those raisins, but I definitely experienced a spark of recognition.
I heard about them on the grapevine…

I think it’s a group of people wearing costumes.
@Trillian Is that a young Johnny Depp? At least it looks like it could be.
@cengland0 What?!! You’ve never seen Benny & Joon? You must rectify that immediately!!
@cengland0 Yes, JD. Quirky but likable movie “Benny and Joon” from 1993. He does some great Buster Keaton impressions in the film.
@cengland0 Clearly not everyone here is old.
That waitress is Julianne Moore, too.

@Trillian oh thats one of my favorite movies! I love Johnny Depp!
They were the special guests on claymation Christmas…

@Wimateeka Yes! I had images of them being in a Christmas special in my mind. That would be why!
I might still have a shirt buried deep in the back of the closet!
I don’t remember any of the commercials, but the Christmas special was watched on a yearly basis in my house…

Remember them? Hell I resemble them
@cranky1950 Too many prunes?
@phendrick No just the passage of time
@cranky1950 You’re cranky.
I have to say, I kinda remember the claymation raisins, but I remember the cartoon so much better.
@QuietDelusions I had no idea this existed. Horrifying. Thanks.

One of the voices of the CRS was Hendrix Band of Gypsies drummer, Buddy Miles…and that makes them sweet!
I feel like they were a big part of my childhood. Maybe that’s because I lived in California then.
Nothing to see here. Just some Motown-loving purple testicles.
Our whole family dressed as the California Raisins one Halloween. We were just talking about that a couple days ago.
@Iktomi Photos- we need photos!
Didn’t they turn into the M&M’s spokescandies?
Are these figurines still available?
