I was just driving to my dad‘s house and I shit you not, I saw somebody putting up their Christmas decorations outside today. they had a whole pine tree covered with ornaments and the nativity scene was going up made me think of this thread. I’ll have to take a pic next time I’m on my way to his house a little early yet
Unfortunately, this is in CA, clear across the country from me. I just WISH i lived in this guy’s neighborhood, I’d love to see this in person! Granted, he’s a professional, but he’s added 300 drones this year that form figures 400 feet high & the house/yard has an estimated 50-75,000 lights, which is triple last year’s display after he moved to a bigger house. The drones are next level, & the POV camera drone that flies through the formations is a nice touch.
@ircon96 I don’t even want to think about the number of control channels needed for that drone swarm, and the complexity of the entire thing would have made it impossible with a DoD budget not very long ago.
@callow Isn’t it? It has to be the best display I’ve ever seen overall, the drone programming alone rivals stuff done for the Olympic Games. That’s impressive!
FYI. I’ve been on the lookout for inexpensive strobe lights that actually sync with sounds. You can get them but mostly the cheap ones just flash steadily instead of randomly or in sync. Yesterday I found one at Home Depot that can do those regular strobes, but also has a ‘demo’ mode that combines sound effects with synchronized flashes at the press of a button, and a continuous run mode where it (apparently randomly) cycles through its sound and light effects. $8
No but my neighborhood has some cool ones, next time I drive by I’ll take pics.
Sorry I only have Flamingos being ridden by skeletons. No lights.

@MarkDaSpark Love them all!
Yes, and no. Not up yet; they won’t go up until mid-October and its minor, just the porch.
The eyes are my favorite! This year I’m adding the clown arch.
We expnded the flock.
@kjady And two black cats!
@kjady Love them! And the kitties.
@Kyeh Yeah, Bear, Riley, and Georgia all were checking them out. Bonus points if you can find the grey and white kitty too!
@callow Thanks!
@kjady Oh! Hiding behind the planter!
