Did Meh tweets to text quit working for anybody else?

djslack thought this was worth mentioning said Tue, May 29th 2018 at 12:10am ET

Like sometime back in 2015 I texted “follow wearemeh” to 40404 so I could get a text for every night’s deal. This worked flawlessly until last week.

I texted the same message and it tells me I’m now following it and sends me the latest tweet, but it never follows through after that.

Is this happening to anyone else? Should I blame gdpr for it?

- @medz that’s the thing… I don’t think I did anything except text follow wearemeh. That’s all the signing up I believe I did, and I’ve redone that several times over the past week. Is there something required to sign up through Twitter itself?
  
  Last night I texted stop to it, then repeated the follow request to hopefully achieve the equivalent of turning it off and back on again. We’ll see if that works.

My @wearemeh tweets are still coming in( I just got one ) however my @woot notification tweets stopped weeks ago for some reason even though I didn’t unfollow them

If all notifications stopped I would guess you have to sign on Twitter to agree to the TOS.

  I never had my phone number associated with my Twitter account before. Today I texted help to 40404 and it got me to a point where I could log in via text. I did so and then repeated the follow command. My text announcing the meh deal for tonight came through just like the good old days.

Checked my Twitter settings and push notifications were turned off. Guess I’ll find out in about 8 hours if that was the problem. It’s circadian at this point, the notifications are obsolete anyhow.
