Dear Woot.....Stop it.... enough already.....
2So I was just catching up on cat videos and tosh.o pictures and I came across this one on Facebook
Woot asking for people to send them stuff.
I know some have thought I came down on them for printing every good idea meh has on a t shirt, but this is just embarrassing on their part.

Well you could just send them a box of air… or better yet with some dog crap in it and tell them to let the box sit in a sun a while before they open it…
Too bad today's shirt is sold out. For $1, it would have been funny to send one to Woot.
I participated in sending stuff to them. They may have portrayed it poorly on Facebook, but it is actually part of a much larger event. They had their anniversary, had a woof off.....sold a bunch of crap, including a shirt bag of crap. Some of those came with a single puzzle piece. There were 2000(could be wrong) pieces I believe that were sent out. They thought it would take us several weeks to get this puzzle put together, but it only took a couple of days with people all over the country working on it. So the puzzle had a link that let you buy a letter for a buck. We received a letter, which contained a letter and a number( all code), and that was it. So again the brilliant people figured out the code and it told us to ship a box of random crap, under 10 pounds,to their office. We are still waiting to see what happens, but most of us think they are just going swap all of them around amongst each other. So it is really just some of their staff going above and beyond to keep some of their customers entertained for several weeks now.
@zollins5 You posted while I was typing. SNIPED :P
The way they did this was different. The outcome and purpose are a bit different. Since you just ran across that, and have no idea how it started, I get the confusion.
This started back on woot's birthday, then through a puzzle, decoding letters, and now we're at this stage. This whole thing is just fun.
In other words, you comparing every single thing woot does with meh and harping on any similarities that happen - in companies that have/had similar cultures, is silly.
I don't know what woot did to break your heart, but it's time to get over her. You've got a new love now, and it's sad for her that you keep bringing up your ex.
@Thumperchick Harsh, and funny. I like it lol
I guess I'm just jealous I don't spend most of my day and night doing puzzles and responding to multiple posts on multiple sites. I guess I can dream...someday, someday....
@somf69 So you're jealous that there's still an engaged and participating community having fun there that you're not a part of? Got it.
@narfcake nope, I don't think of it like that. I was always a willing participant there, not as much anymore. It's been a while since I posted on the boards there. I just lost my urge to be involved there due to the direction the site was headed. I enjoy many sites and comminities. My inner displeasure with that company is how they have recently chosen to do business and how it is mirroring this site in several ways. I guess using other people's ideas is a form of flattery, but my opinon is they should come up with a few other ideas on thier own and claim success off of thier own ideas.
@somf69 It sounds like they're in a lose-lose situation. But many of the ideas showing up here came from there, and at least some of the folks who thought 'em up are still there. I had no idea that the thing zollins5 and Thumperchick mention was going on, but I have noticed that things seemed a little more sparkly over there. FWIW.
@somf69 It's okay, not everyone can multitask ;)
Basically project WÖHLER.
