I’ve been working from home for several years now. “They” say it’s better to get up, showed and dressed just like you would if you worked in an office.
I have to agree with that but since you have children and your wife there, how are they handling Daddy needing to work rather than it all be fun time?
I think those suggestions are just for people who want to be productive though.

Very nice use of keyboarding so it looks like you are working! Good job! But remember, since you’re at home now you don’t need to make a big show of “working”.
The whole quarantine things changes little for them as they are basically homeschooled.
I find it really entertaining that virtually everyone is now homeschooled. Since neither of our kids went to school until they were in college I am big on the idea.
I’m “at work” now. If ya’ll hear so much as a squeak from me in the next 8 or so hours then tell at me to get back to work. I have the attention span of a gold fish… er… something…
@jst1ofknd (walks over to desk, sits on corner) “Hey buddy, how’s it going? Did you see that dress Sally is wearing? Did you hear that Bob’s ‘sick’ time last month was actually rehab? And I can’t believe Nelson is up for that promotion again. I mean, when are they going to get it that he’s just a suck-up? And what is with…wait, here comes Dave, gotta go! Lunch?”
I’m on day 10 of living 10 miles away from my family. I work in a research lab and working long days with lots of people. So unfortunately, isolating myself away from my wife and kid (and dog) is the right thing to do right now. I envy the shit out you all people being annoyed by your kids Stay safe everyone.
@jst1ofknd Sadly the answer is ‘as long as it has too’. I’m thankful that we have everything we need and I get to have zoom meetings every night with my girls. It makes no sense for them to self-isolate and then have me just bring home God-knows-what from work. It stinks, but I’m grateful that we have the ability to stay at two different properties. I do miss them very, very much though I have no doubt we will get through this soon. I would recommend everyone hugs their annoying kids tonight
@moonhat I don’t think so… not yet. There still needs to be a lot of preclinical and clinical work done before we start seeing those kind of samples at our lab. We do have some major studies going on now that are very time sensitive though. So… the show must go on.
@therealjrn I heard a guy at Costco wearing a MAGA T-shirt say that the reason nobody in India is getting it is because they’re all taking Holy Basil Extract, and that medicines and science were a waste of money when taking Holy Basil Extract would save lives.
Then there was that other guy that said that he had protective reticulated Quartz crystals that cured his mom of lupus and nobody has gotten sick.
So I think those are promising too. And then my astrologer says I’ll be fine and good news about health will arrive by Easter. And what do you know, that’s when Trump said it will all be over, so it has to be true. I gotta see if Hannity is on this. I should call in to tell him lots of people tell me good things. Good things. Wonderful things. About this being over soon and it will be the most incredible thing ever in the history of America. Just incredible. And amazing it will be so incredible.

My youngest is 12. They are pretty self sufficient.
We’ll see how it goes today though. Last week when I started this, they were on spring break.

@chienfou @therealjrn
If you homeschool kids, then where do they go to try out their first street drugs?
They sound so deprived in the particular curriculum.

Just wanted you to feel like it was a normal day…
@jst1ofknd @ybmuG haha that’s great. I appreciated it. One thing I miss, working from home is the casual conversations.
@JnKL @jst1ofknd @ybmuG
Here’s an article from my buddy John C. Dvorak that he just wrote. He’s been working from home for years. http://cosmicweenie.com/work.pdf

That sucks. How long do you think that has to last?

@capnjb
You can count on it. The wife and I will hug the kids until they are annoyed.
@capnjb @jst1ofknd That’s how you know you did it right.
@capnjb oh, interesting! Perhaps you are working on a coronavirus vaccine?

Mission accomplished. My mids were annoyed be me when I said good night to them.
@capnjb @jst1ofknd
Oh, and hey @jst1ofknd be sure and check out this thread: https://meh.com/forum/topics/free-working-from-home-book-from-glennf
@therealjrn
I will make note of this for later.
I’ve been hearing good things about Forsythia and this virus.

@mike808 Yeah, I guess you didn’t see the movie. But thank you for sharing the vileness that spews forth from your political black heart.
Forsythia was from that movie Contagion.
Thanks for making yet another post political. It must be exhausting to be you.
