@RedOak I know this was 9 hours ago, but I don't know if it does g. I can really relate to yesterdays video--I'm terriffied of setting up a new router. I have a Rosewill 300m and a Cisco Linksys E1000 both bought on sale, never used. I'm not sure which is the better/faster one anymore. Embarrassing. And I have a ps3, 2 tablets, and a wireless printer running off the disco netgear.Embarrassing again. (edit, the one meh is selling looks to be 2x as fast as the above routers--I'm not sure I need another router though--although if you nudged me a bit...)
A definite meh on this one. Never, ever had a good experience with a D-Link product. Unless you like rebooting a lot and praying for a firmware update that brings the router closer to 2/3 of the promised wireless speed, avoid their products. Even at this price.
I don't think the writers at MEH understand the real purpose of a model number. Perhaps you guys should take an internship inside manufacturing company for a few months.
@S4NDM4NN Which if you update the firmware... the bridge mode is gone... May be gone from the get go! This is very expensive for a 4 port 10/100 Switch...
PC World published an article included the DIR-808L in an article about security vulnerability issues with D-Link routers. The article is dated March, 2015. The latest firmware for this router is dated 2013. So, the security vulnerabilities have not been patched. Unbelievable. I don't think I would buy a D-Link yo-yo. Definitely meh, for me. If they have no regard for the reputation of their company, I have no interest in their products. Even if they are dirt cheap.
In for 3.. These will work just fine for mimicking a hard wired Ethernet connection for my security cameras that seem to like to forget the wireless connection every few weeks. Yea Meh!
ok, this is not c00l. I bought this thing ONLY because my exisiting (super old) Linksys router (upgraded to a Tmobile provided ASUS router), didnt do Bridge mode. I'm installing and this crap doesnt do bridge by default. Crap crap crap.

Umm band router-- is this an agents way of booking their bands ??
Damn it! FUKU I said!
@Stallion no FUKU bag tonight ;( guess we were routed tonight or should I just say it was a route
And those reviews are so bad, you'd have to pay me to take one, lol
In for three last time, and in for three more today.These are GREAT routers! These and the LED lights have taken place of the speaker docks for me.
@joe43wv what do you do with 6 routers?
@peaceonearth build a big bridge
@peaceonearth
@eeterrific You figured it out. I'm going to name it Brooklyn then post it on eBay for sale.
You win the sigh young award.
@nadroj LOL, Worth staying up just for that!
@nadroj booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
(tossing peanut shell in your general direction)

These are not the routers I'm looking for.
How about a REAL router one day, eh Meh?
(No, I mean the one that works with wood.)
(Also, #TWSS)
@haydesigner Not until they sell a good fixed blade stabber.
I should really replace my netgear, but they wouldn't call me Disco Stu anymoreyes, it's my router
@wew 2007? Does it even do "g"?
@wew you must have gotten a good one. We stopped using anything NetGear in that era since they all seemed to die prematurely.

@wew too late to edit, bit I was going to ut dd-wrt on one of the routers. Ha.
+1 on the Robin Trower reference!

I refuse to buy any D-Link products. Every time I try to use them, I come away frustrated and disappointed. They're just junk.
I got one of these free with my Optimum service. Branding is different but it's the same shit.
It was overpriced at $0.

My home network is mostly enterprise grade. For real. I'm getting a couple of these so I can provide a tor network publicy from a dmz on the cheap.
I'm not opposed to D-Link, but lacking gigabit ports elicits "no, meh, no."
Unless I'm missing something. Bridge mode was removed from most firmware on this. I tried to use it that way and no go..,
Looks like Matthew spent WAY too much time with puppets growing up...

If you buy this junk make sure the firmware is up to date: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2891872/dlink-patches-router-says-more-fixes-are-on-the-way.html

@S4NDM4NN The PC World article you reference is dated March 2015. The latest firmware for the DIR-808L is dated 2013. FAIL!
@beachboui good call, and even more reason not to buy this junk. Even if you update the firmware it is still vulnerable. Here is a write up for anybody interested: https://github.com/darkarnium/secpub/blob/master/Multivendor/ncc2/README.md
If you can control your router from your phone, so can anyone else on the planet. This is not a household gateway or firewall router.
One issue with all this is that you're selling a thing for getting the internet, on the internet.
@Waterstride Maybe they're hoping that people using the Internet at the public library will see it and buy it so they can use Internet at home?
Kind of like the only use for Internet Explorer is to download a better web browser.

Got one last time. Set up easy, and it works.
Want absolute Security shop elsewhere.

what's the point of an ac connection with a 100mbps ethernet port? That will get maxed out by a "n" router.
I read the source code for the DLink-written bits of another of their routers. Junk and full of holes. Never again.
A firmware update that has since been taken down by D-Link (quality tech support there) is referenced here: https://web.archive.org/web/20150831100436/http://securityadvisories.dlink.com/security/publication.aspx?name=SAP10052 that leads to a dropbox link for firmware v1.04b01 .
wow, what a way to start my morning: purchase regret.
