@Kyeh
I just found this article about the best home ice cream makers. This one is #1! I think it’s this model, I actually can’t find the spicific model # for it on the page but it looks the same. At least it’s a Cuisinart!
Lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Pufferfishy that’s true of all brands of similar products (like the oster they sold a couple years ago) unfortunately. pre-chill your ingredients in the freezer ahead of time as well if you can.
I don’t actually need one since I do have both the old Dixie Belle handcrank and an almost-as-old large electric. But it sure would be sweet to downsize my recipe and make small portions when I feel like a little homemade ice cream.
Maybe I’ll get one in my irk? Is it possible to be that lucky??
@Kyeh@djslack
Yes this is the smaller one of the 2 and over on the other thread you guys had the model numbers right on. When I opened the link for the manual it gave me the info.
Duh… Can’t wait to try it out!
YUM
Can confirm that the ingredients need to be really cold; the first attempt here, following the included directions, resulted in a fairly solid shell of actual ice cream around a still-liquid center, and letting it continue to run did not improve the situation. I have a less robust conventional salt-and-ice unit that does a much better job in my opinion.

These work - but barely. You def. want to set your freezer to “Hoth” when you chill the vessel.

That’s what I’m thinking, maybe we’ll all get a Cuisinart product in our IRKs!
Woohoo!
