I got a solid color set of these a while back. I think they’re very good for the price. They’re also great to take to work or potlucks, anyplace where you might otherwise lose track of them.
@Kyeh I bought sets of these for my (young adult) kids when they were on sale at Costco. Great “starter” knives for fledglings out on their own for the first time. They were happy with them.
@Kyeh i also bought the solid color set, decent knives, nothing special but for 20 bucks a great deal. and the sheaths are great for when you need to take the knife to gatherings.
I got a paring knife about 7 years ago ina Christmas exchange. It is my work knife (I leave it in my office drawer for when I need one for my lunch) the sheath is handy. I’ve had to sharpen it a couple times, as one would expect. It’s a good little knife.
I have to say, the center-bar writeup for these is one of the best Meh has ever had. It’s brutally honest in a humorous way, which is something almost never seen by businesses in this country. Kudoes!
I have similar knives, also Cuisinart, but they are at leadt solid colors. Question, do these get dull rather quickly or am I just really bad at knife sharpening?
@Toonela Thank you for that info. Meh almost had me, but I followed your clue and found them. I went for the $18.18 version which had more subdued colors rather than the neon colors of the lower priced set. Plus neither had the artwork that would entice the little ones to use them as dangerous toys.
All of the discussion above made me curious, so I did a cruise through Amazon looking for knife sets in colors, and… WTF? This looks like somebody came out with a “set of knives with the hole dam ting not black-grip-with-metal-blade”, and every other outfit in the biz had to Have Their Own, so Cuisinart had to one-up all the me-toos by having Lots Of Choices All Pretty Much The Same, and now it’s a fegging circus. Yeesh. I think perhaps I will keep on honing and using my existing collection of decently sharp objects and their accessories, TYVM. (Two knife blocks, motley collection, all very sharp. Stack of plastic cutting boards on top of the blocks. Big-ass stropping steel hanging next to the stovetop.) I have trouble believing that the “nonstick ceramic coating” adds enough actual utility to make it worthwhile adding yet more cutty-stabby-stuff to the pile.
These are the kind of knives that are destined to be used until they’re completely dull, kept around without sharpening for way too long, and then thrown out or given to Goodwill.
For what it is worth: I bought some of these that were by Cuisinart that were very similar. They didn’t have so much design on the blades. I was disappointed because they weren’t very sharp.
So if you want cool looking knives to decorate your kitchen that don’t work all that well–go for these! If you actually want to cut things with your knives, give these a pass.
@ripper69
So what you’re saying is that all the Mehtizens who were grousing about how they wanted to see some knives on here are justified in going all Paul Hogan on them for these not-even-close things, eh?
I am addicted to Cuisinart knives…taking all my willpower not to click the Buy button. Have some in my kitchen drawer and have a set for backup…still…want…more.

This is a very knife deal.
Got a similar set last time they were on Meh. They got dull fairly quickly.
@guybrush01 You’ve watched too much Forged in Fire… Stop brutalizing these fine knives with the popular barrel chop test!
@guybrush01 use a knife sharpener. They sharpen easy.
@guybrush01 @OnionSoup Cheap knives sharpen easy and lose their edge easy.

@erthian this gif works almost as well as oxycodone
Look! It’s Cuisine Art!
Great for college students who need knives they’ll throw away or forget, whichever comes first.
Apart from the decorations this looks identical to this $30 set on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N9HWFLS?tag=kitchenambiti-20&th=1
@JohnMorris So there you can pay an extra ten bucks to not have the silly designs?
THESE ARE PERFECT FOR MY CLOWN COSTUME!!!
I got a solid color set of these a while back. I think they’re very good for the price. They’re also great to take to work or potlucks, anyplace where you might otherwise lose track of them.
@Kyeh I have that set. I use the red one for bread and the yellow one for meat (both serrated). I love them. The others rattle around in a drawer.

Orange for cutting pumpkins. Blue one for slicing blueberries and the red one is great for murderers.
@bugger And the purple one is for dispatching Barney or Tinky Winky.
Sharp!!
These are actually rubber stage knives for a grade school production of Julius Caesar…
“Ah yes, let’s make sharp, stabby objects that are colored like children’s toys!”
Care Bare Stare - But with knives

Tough to beat for the price. I think I’m going to grab a set & throw 'em in my “go bag”…impending apocalypse and all…

@werehatrack Yes it is spot on, myself I’m waiting for the tie-dye versions to show up, they are still a little pricey at Macy’s clearance prices
@oldmantick @werehatrack The tie dye set with a cutting board are for sale on Morningsave for $29; I don’t know if that’s better than Macy’s?
I have similar knives, also Cuisinart, but they are at leadt solid colors. Question, do these get dull rather quickly or am I just really bad at knife sharpening?
@phaedrusnyc they are no worse then my other $200 henkle set, but maybe thats just an indication of i dont cook enough at home to wear them out.
Might be $39 at Macy’s, but it is $15 at Amazon…

Will these colors wear off?
@edsa According to the reviews on Amazon, it seems likely.
