After what happened last time, I’m going to check if filters can be bought later on because the last purifier I bought on Meh didn’t have filters available, and cleaning the filter had diminishing returns.

I just checked on Amazon and they do have them. They also have one from a different brand that is compatible and much cheaper. I just added them to my Amazon cart now and I will probably order a couple just to make sure I’m good for a while.
@Kyeh@OnionSoup I would assume it’s the noise. Cat hearing is pretty sensitive. Even some fans bother me at a low level. I often run whatever devices I have a lowest speed. During fire smoke season (which I hear might blow back in tomorrow) I have a larger unit and I run it on lowest speed and it’s a fairly tolerable “white noise.” Sadly no cat to test it at the moment.
I had one of the fancy Dyson units and though it was not louder in dB, it made a weird “wheee” sound, not loudly, but it spooked the old cat.
@Kyeh@pmarin I’m sure it’s the noise. I do have it on sleep mode (quietest setting) it’s pretty quiet to me unless I put ear against it… But there again, it might be high frequency I can’t hear. The other cats don’t seem bothered by it… Just the one I’m trying to clean the air for… Although he was sleeping back in that room last night, (or at least was there when I got up) so maybe he’s getting used to it
Damn that last picture with the toilet reminded me … why did the name Crane sound familiar? Not Trane which I use for HVAC.
I am pretty sure that the toilets and also I think other plumbing fixtures in the house I am in now, built late 1960s, are Crane brand. No idea if it is the same company or just a name discarded or sold cheaply, like when I saw $9 Nakamichi earbuds.
I own one of these! The highest speed settings are a little noisy, but it’s nice that it’s small enough pick up and move around. (I was the weirdo who brought the HEPA filter to in-person parties in 2021.)
Here’s the link for replacement UV bulbs (since it wasn’t included above and I don’t see the bulbs on Amazon): https://crane-usa.com/product/true-hepa-air-purifier-uv-bulb/
@jhkey Brian Kemp is pissed off at a certain prominent pain in the neck, and is making a point of being noncooperative with the said figure’s demands for specific egregious rigging gambits. (This is not to say that he is above gerrymandering and such, but the crap that old-style Republicans don’t support is not getting any traction.)

I just bought one of these a few days ago. (Different brand)
For my asthmatic cat. I put it in the room he always sleeps in. He won’t go in there anymore.
@OnionSoup I think there’s a lesson there, but I’m still distilling it.
@OnionSoup Maybe only run it part of the day? Is the sound he doesn’t like?

That could explain the road rage I see up in the 'Couve.

I should try to think of something clever to say in the forum tonight, but I’m going to just try to fall back asleep.
