@sammydog01 I bought it and it was delivered yesterday. It has a really aggressively fresh masculine cologne note that I’m not wild about. I haven’t diffused the oil yet, but I assume it’s softer.
@mossygreen@sammydog01 Even weirder, the EDP alone is more expensive than the set. I wonder if it’s older. Scents actually should come with “Best by” dates because they definitely can turn.
@Kyeh@sammydog01 It’s just spectacularly confusing pricing simultaneously occuring on all three sites. Also, sometimes aging helps perfumes, there are a couple of Sarah Jessica Parker frgarances I checked out based on reviews and did not like, but fell in love with a couple of years later when I randomly found them at TJ Maxx. I think the weird top notes died off.
@mossygreen@sammydog01 Hmm, that’s interesting. It has a lot to do with how they’re stored, too, of course. I just know I’ve taken a chance on perfumes on Ebay and sometimes regretted it.
@Kyeh@mossygreen@sammydog01 Store too many different essential oil blends together in the same airtight bin, and they all end up smelling like a melange of the rest. My deceased partner made that mistake with a bunch of Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs oils.
@Kyeh@sammydog01 That’s true, I like to assume that all fragrances I buy at TJ Maxx/Marshall’s spent the summer in an abandoned boxcar in the desert somewhere. Keeps my expectations low.
@Kyeh@sammydog01@werehatrack Also very true, although it possible that some of the blends had a similar/perhaps even identical base, and as the top notes aged and faded away the similarities came to the forefront. I had some Smell Bent samples that I hated that had the exact same musk base as one that I loved and it really weirded me out when I realized it.
@mossygreen@sammydog01@werehatrack BPAL scents are SO AGGRESSIVE to begin with! I hate most of them but I’ve got a few favorites. The “stories” can be kind of obnoxious though. My favorite scent from them is “O” which annoys the hell out of me because it’s supposed to be based on that loathesome “Story of O.”
It’s still a great scent.
Ewww, concentrated stink! Do Not Want! Also, see @mossygreen’s note in the reply above about the actual aroma of one of them. In my specific case, it would probably give me flashbacks that I really do not need and won’t go into.
@werehatrack well, I do need to P every day. Hopefully more than once. Been practicing since I was born. But now I’m at the point where I’m told I should consult a urologist if it’s too many times a day.
I’m not saying don’t buy this here, but I am saying that it’s currently $7.99 on morningsave.
@mossygreen Now I feel the need to buy it even though I don’t want it.

@mossygreen And now I don’t have to buy it. Thanks for taking the hit for me.

@mossygreen @sammydog01
Good approach.

Had to re-read this like 4 times… kept thinking it said Raw Insect .
@PHRoG You’re not alone - Definitely thought it was bug repellent.
@Dbaker641 @PHRoG with middle notes of eucalyptus, it should repell insects
@PHRoG omg same! I was so bloody confused.

@werehatrack sweaty polyester shirt worn at a disco in the 70’s?
@pmarin No. Earlier and far more traumatic. And I refuse to go into it.

So what kind of Every Day thing is EDP?
@werehatrack well, I do need to P every day. Hopefully more than once. Been practicing since I was born. But now I’m at the point where I’m told I should consult a urologist if it’s too many times a day.
@werehatrack Eau de parfum.
Less strong than “parfum,” but stronger than “eau de toilette.”
