Cookie Season!
4Some cookies are pretty much eternal (chocolate chip shall never die) but many are seasonal, and perhaps it might be fun to post favorites for comparison.
So, to start off, this week I spotted the return of a flavor that will have some of you curious, others envious, and a whole bunch expressing variations of “Ewww, no!” and “Why?” and such.
Here it is:

Sounds good to me!
I would give that flavour a try.
Nope
@tinamarie1974 Want!
@pmarin you can have mine!!
I think I’d like it.
Oh, I’d probably be into those! I know if I saw them I wouldn’t be able to not buy them to try.
Kinda gross! But have to be better than the cookies we sold recently (I still feel bad about that one)
@troy just to be clear, you haven’t actually tried these?
@mehvid1 Nope, I haven’t tried these
It’s candy season too. These at aldi are only around during the holidays and the absolute bomb!
@ironcheftoni I love nougat!
@Kyeh and these are so good! If you have aldi nearby, look for them in the aisle of shame.
@ironcheftoni No Aldi here.
I do order from a site called Torrone Candy, but I’m sure the Aldi price is much sweeter.

@Kyeh I think they are around $5
@ironcheftoni OMG - that’s a steal!
@ironcheftoni @Kyeh
She got me 4 boxes!
These aren’t seasonal but talk about pricey… Ouch!
I’d been buying these Australian cookies on Amazon for around $12 and you only get 10 TINY cookies! I loved them so much that I sent my sister a couple of boxes in two different varieties, caramel is our favorite. She liked them but they’re not really into sweets, and thought they were more like a candy. A couple of weeks later she found the same exact cookies in TJ Max or Marshall’s for about $3.00!
@ironcheftoni @Lynnerizer Oh, those look delicious. Good for your sister, finding those!
@ironcheftoni @Kyeh is there an italian neighborhood near you? If so, the local Italian store likely sells nougat candy. Thats where I get mine.
@ironcheftoni @Kyeh
And my other half can’t control himself with sweets in the house! He’d devour 2 bags in one night!
Yeah it was great, but we stopped eating them, we’re trying to be healthy.
@Lynnerizer are you aware of the Tim Tam Slam? I like them with coffee.
Earlier this year Sam’s had a batch of Tim Tams, and right after that Aldi had a version of them that was also quite tasty.
@ironcheftoni @tinamarie1974 No, sadly - we don’t have an Italian neighborhood. I was pretty happy to find the Turrone Candy website because they do have sales sometimes and I can stock up.
@ironcheftoni @tinamarie1974 @djslack
Speaking of irresistible cookies, have you had Gavottes? Especially the chocolate covered ones? They’re SO GOOD!!! The crepes are super thin and brittle and just shatter, such an incredible texture.
@ironcheftoni @Kyeh @tinamarie1974 Oooh! No, but I will!
@djslack @ironcheftoni @Kyeh @tinamarie1974
And for gifting! They look delicious!

Me too, when I can physically afford to put sweets in my body!
@djslack

No I never heard of the Tim Tam Slam! And like I just commented below/above as soon as my body says I can eat sweets I’m here for it!
@Lynnerizer I don’t think shorts embed properly but video explains it best.

WYKYK!
@ironcheftoni @Kyeh
I love that “asle of shame”
NO NOT EATING THAT.
Fav cookie is one that I make myself and decorate.
@Wollyhop

I used to feel that way and still do to a certain extent. Since I was a little kid I wouldn’t eat a cookie unless it was homemade. I learned to bake around 6-7 years old. I don’t think I ever even tried more than one bite of a Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookie, they’re gross!
Pie Season!
@ybmuG Cookie Season!
@werehatrack pie season!
@ybmuG cookie season!
@werehatrack Cookie Season!
@ybmuG Pie Season! err, wait [kersplatt]
I love the Trader Joe’s dark mint stars that come out around this time of year.
