@lichme yikes. Tough day? Wouldn't expect that reaction from you.
At my age I'm sure I forgetfully miss starring things where I intended to do so. But that doesn't necessarily equate to some kind of malevolent intent.
On the other hand perhaps there's some kind of sarcasm going here that flew right over my head. Shutting up for now.
@wa27 Explore the possibilities! Watery juice, pure juice, tap water, filtered water, iced tea, mehmosas, iced coffee, slurpees, mehlkshakes, smoothies, it's all possible with a contigo hydration bottle bought right here on meh.com Don't be a hydration bottle half-full type of person.
@zachdecker I'm guessing they mean you can open it and close it with one hand, which could be a selling point. Especially compared to the wax-sealed wine bottles I usually carry around.
@marvelljones Thank you! I guess I'll just stick with one set, then. Also, seeing the purple ones there made me sad that there are no purples one in the set Meh is selling. :-(
At this price it's probably worth it anyway but be warned: these have the same problem most Contigo products have: the little rubber ring that falls out if you wash the lid with hot water (or put it in the dishwasher). I have the SnapSeal Byron by Contigo and I like it, but I'm sure the little ring is going to get lost or wear out any day now. And it's considered "normal wear and tear" so it's not covered by the warranty.
@marvelljones I have had the ring fall out of mine[i have the same model being sold today] in the dishwasher sometimes, but it is easy enough to put back in.
These bottles have never leaked for me, but be careful about putting them in a bag with other things while driving around the car. It's possible for something to trigger the latch, open the bottle, and flood the passenger side floorboard. [Not that i know from first hand experience...]
@marvelljones I have six (well, five; a monkey spawn lost one) for the past year and have yet to have a ring issue. I love these. I'm in for two packs since school starts up soon for 3 out 4 in the household and some more are bound to go missing.
@marvelljones Thank you for posting this. I have this same seal problem with the flip straw sport bottles. It's systematically happening to all of them over time. The silicone straws are wearing holes in themselves, probably wear and tear also. It's good to know something else will have to break off in order for them to honor the warranty. However, despite these experiences, I like the Contigo stuff, it's worked better for us than other bottles, and I like their designs for ease cleaning. In for nine instrumental-morbid-lithium
@dmlivezey Those are sippy cups for kids. These are larger bottles for adults. Not really targeting the same demographics even if they have a few similar attributes.
Those are 14oz not 24oz. Only two are plastic, one is stainless, and it's $18.99 + $6.99 shipping, unless you can get them locally like @haydesigner said. That said, thanks for the comparison, it's sort of relevant if you were looking at these Jacksons for kids. Although based on the write up, the only Jackson I would want my kid involved with is Andrew, the other two are scary for kids.
I bought a set of these at Costco for about $15 6 months ago or so...they are GREAT bottles and easy to clean! The whole white top comes off so it's easy to add ice and such...really convenient!!!
I use these every day. I have dropped them many times, and while the latch has come open, the bottles have not broken and the latch still works. You can carry all 3 at once with one hand by flipping up the little loop at the top of the bottle.
The latch is also easy to open and close with one hand.
I'll keep on washing out the Dasani bottles and re-using them and save the $12.
Yeah, I'm that much a cheap old bastard.
Which is funny, because I certainly spend on extravagances without a second thought - and sometimes I spend quite a lot. I think this is just a "grandma grew up during the depression" kind of thing I guess. I still can't bring myself to throw away a Cool Whip container or glass jar to this very day - @MrsPavlov has to do it when I'm not looking.
@Pavlov I share that cheap-ass tendency. Over-achieving Scot blood given its actual percentage in mine. Sometimes also causes similar container reuse grief with my spouse.
However, having a couple daughters who run, I need Christmas gifts for them. These water bottles might have fit the bill very nicely at the price and with VMP currently active.
Except I've previously made the mistake of getting them bottles without that funky, articulated spout thingy on many Contigos and missing on these versions. Oh well.
@Pavlov i will just give you one taste of the what I would call insanity, perhaps you would call it ignorant bliss or some other for of peace with one-self, anyway my lovely mother when at work would collect condiment packets, chef's blend it was called( ms.day like spices) along with single serving coffee packets, splenda packets, peanut butter, cranberry juice, you name it she would take it, then proceed to put them into ziplock bags which would then get put into cardboard boxes then proceed to fill with coins, papers and other goodies, then stacked on top of other boxes with similar things. I am glad those dark days are thankfully gone, "one day I might have a use for that" is the cry of reasoning : )
@sp3ar Yeah okay, just promise you won't look in my bottom kitchen drawers if you come over and find the zip-locks full of ketchup packets, soy sauce, KFC sporks, etc. . . . Cool? Cool.
@Pavlov hey whats is that Adriana Grande and insert another beautiful woman here making out? Just you look away for a few seconds and see where those ziplocks go!
@Pavlov tip for those ketchup packets - stuff them in the gaps around the egg carton hatch in the fridge. Their longevity is improved (the packets, not the eggs). ;-)
@sp3ar only twelve bucks .. Buy it and sell two of the three for 6 bucks a piece to some unsuspecting thirsty friend .. The bottle you kept, the third one, will then be free (well almost free there is that shipping and tax man thing you have to pay ...
Minimally relevant but potentially thought-provoking fact. Treating dehydration and preventing dehydration are not the same thing. Science has proven that water is an effective treatment for dehydration. This led to a bit of a labeling controversy in Europe.
Completely irrelevant fact. I'm having more and more trouble distinguishing between real Amazon products and spoof Amazon products.
@craigcush And how much did that Costco membership cost you? I think you have to factor that into the costs of the items you buy.
Not saying there's anything wrong with Costco. In fact, I like them. Many of my family members work for them. The closest one is about 20 miles away so I don't have a membership myself but if they ever open a branch close, I would probably get a membership and cancel Sams Club.
@mehdaf I agree with that. I usually let my Sams Club membership expire and then when I need a large purchase like car tires, I shop around. Sams Club price might be cheaper after the membership so it is at that time that I sign back up. Just regular grocery shopping doesn't save enough to pay for a full membership.
This time I found a friend that also wanted a membership so we have two cards and have split the costs.
@Al_Coholic No, it's not. Jules does not blasphemy. The writeup lacks all respect for the spirit of the movie. There are principals. Would you support a writeup where John McLane chickens out? What about a writeup where Harry Callahan apologizes for being so direct? No, you wouldn't--because that would violate the character of the characters. This writeup has no regards for integrity, and despite wanting to buy this three pack very bad, is the sole reason I am choosing not to do so.
I got tired of the little paper cups at the water cooler, so I bought a two-pack of very nice Aladdin water bottles from BJ's back in 2008 for $15. They, too, featured "one handed drinking" technology and a convenient plastic loop on a hinge thingy for carrying, I guess? Maybe for clipping carabiners to? I wound up mostly fiddling with it during overlong meetings, so "human cat toy" is probably a better description of the feature.
The first one fell to the dreaded "forgot to empty it and leave the cap open to air it out over a long weekend" mildew catastrophe in 2011. It's twin met the same fate this past memorial day, and I've been making do with my travel mug, but man, I need that mug for travelling.
Hopefully, a pack of three of these Contigo jobbies will see me through a full decade of meeting all office hydration and human cat-toy needs.
I bought a total of 12 of these from Woot back when they were cool. Had to buy them on a regular day offering with a maximum of three 2-packs. And then again when they were on a woot-off.
They are also 24 ounces but made out of stainless steel. They have a flip lid too. Use them nearly every day especially when I'm at the gym.
Still bought a pack of the contigo ones today because I'm a sucker for good water bottles.
I bought them because I need to drink more water. That's my story, and then it was such a relief compared to the dreck on AMZN. tenacious-radiant-lumber kept finding images that were nothing like the words, so here is some lumber in the background, and they're pretty radiant, and I'm sure they're tenacious. And I forgot to celebrate Canada Day.
@jorfrost you are lucky! Buy buy buy! I cancelled my order and ran to Costco at lunch due to your post, no luck here. They don't carry these and the ones they do have are $18.99 on sale, and those kids 14oz bottles linked to Costco.com above. They also have Contigo tumblers with straw (shake and go) and a two pack of coffee thermos SS type. You may have struck Contigo gold, I would buy and resell for that price! Now I have to re-order...
Well i dont really need these but the ability to put ice cubes in the wide mouth and the 24oz capacity made me pull the trigger i think the value is very fair may i be the first again to say MEH YOU ROCK!!!!!!
Bought a grey one for $15 bucks somewhere. It turned out to be a well designed bottle. Saw the deal for $12 for 3, so had to buy it even if the colors do not suite my taste. I will just try to match it with my outfits now. Thanks Meh..I will be visiting your site more often now after discovering you.
You guys have really been on it with getting orders out the door lately. I live on the east coast (yes, still claiming the coast here) and they are on the mail truck out for delivery. Good job, warehouse staff! You're awesome!
Received my trio today and i must say for 4 bucks a pop i feel like i got value ice cubes went rite in and seems to be keeping my beverage cold ANOTHER GREAT BUY FROM THE MEH..TY
I know we've had these awhile now, but this was the first week we've used them. My kids took two of them to school with water in them. They bring them home each afternoon and rinse them. Today they both said that the water bottles smelled nasty. It almost smells like and old eraser. It's really gross. Even after scrubbing them, the smell is still there, so I'm guessing it's the plastic. Has anyone else had issues with theirs getting smelly after being used a few times?
@PurplePawprints It's odd that no one mentions that in any reviews. Maybe try hitting them with a little bleach and washing them again? Is it the seal?
@Thumperchick Yeah, that's going to be my next step, I was just curious if anyone else had noticed an odor from them. I hope bleaching them will help. I don't think it's the seal because the smell seems to come from the bottle as much, if not more than, the lid, but I'm not certain.

Hey there, no crossing streams
@lichme I just knew that would come up.
@Kylethephotoguy
best thread of the day!
@deltahaze And you don't even star it? Jerk
@lichme lol forgive me, i forgot you depend upon me for validation in the form of stars. My unconscionable error has been corrected.
@deltahaze I validated your validation with a star. I did good, ja?
@lichme yikes. Tough day? Wouldn't expect that reaction from you.
At my age I'm sure I forgetfully miss starring things where I intended to do so. But that doesn't necessarily equate to some kind of malevolent intent.
On the other hand perhaps there's some kind of sarcasm going here that flew right over my head. Shutting up for now.
@RedOak Lol total sarcasm. You can continue shutting up :)
@lichme perhaps it is me who is having the tough week. Good thing it is soon to be Friday.
Hydration bottle. You mean, like, a water bottle? :\
@wa27 Explore the possibilities! Watery juice, pure juice, tap water, filtered water, iced tea, mehmosas, iced coffee, slurpees, mehlkshakes, smoothies, it's all possible with a contigo hydration bottle bought right here on meh.com
Don't be a hydration bottle half-full type of person.
Is "one handed drinking" really a big enough selling point that it should be printed on the box?
@zachdecker I refuse to buy cups that aren't officially tested for 1 handed drinking
@zachdecker Yes. I usually have my hands full when I get thirsty, don't you?
@zachdecker True. The only two handed drinking I can think of is a bucket.
@zachdecker I'm guessing they mean you can open it and close it with one hand, which could be a selling point. Especially compared to the wax-sealed wine bottles I usually carry around.
@zachdecker It's better than regular hydration bottles that require three hands to operate.
@zachdecker The icon on the box does not even demonstrate one-handed drinking, merely one-handed pouring out. I remain unconvinced.
@Kylethephotoguy Don't keg stands count as two handed drinking?
@brhfl These bottles are optimized for pouring the liquid of your choice out for your lost hommies.
Well done on the water animation today wish we had some of that yesterday but I guess you made up for it today excellent work.
@sp3ar Yep
I'm a sucker for contigo. Love their products. Thanks Meh!
Have one of these . They are dope. One handed drinking is so nice.
Screw Two for Tuesday, we have Three for Thursday
@somf69 Speak it!
In Paris, they call it le contigo...
meh, i prefer two-fisted drinking.
from the looks of this video I'm not sure if your accurately portraying the sheer GPH these things can pour!
@Sirsivart but what happened to the ice cubes!
@Jeepersca
@Sirsivart indeed. One handed drowning even.
If I still had vmp I would cancel it for that writeup.
@Jetlag what write up
@Jetlag Now, hold on Jack.
or is that Jackson?
@Kylethephotoguy Hey, did you make the photo's, Kylethephotoguy? If so, good job. If not, you need to reconsider changing your username.
@lichme he did (and does)!
@Jetlag Because @WeAreMeh stole two Jacksons from the Jackson Five?
@Jetlag Yep.
Meh. But I'm a sucker for multipack water bottles. Not that anyone cares... I'm just posting because my order phrase is metaphysically mind-blowing:
invisible-visible-power
It will take me a while to figure that one out.
@shahnm telekinesis. Invisible power with visible results.
@shahnm Of all the images that came up for that "phrase" this is the most useful, only not for understanding the phrase:
funkit I dont feel like doing a write up today
@CrossIT you're allowed to actually swear here.
@haydesigner Maybe @CrossIT doesn't feel like doing a write up today because they just started assembling a really neat crystal radio?
@brhfl OH OH OH can I help? .o/
I've already bought one set, but if you can promise me it's good for coffee (and it will keep it warm for a few minutes at least) I might buy another.
@PurplePawprints "Product is NOT designed for hot liquids. Use only with cold liquids." per http://www.gocontigo.com/water-bottles/24oz-jackson-water-bottle.html

Is it just me or does Meh. seem to be promoting funneling?
@mfladd funneling is necessary for funnel cakes so I'm good
@deltahaze @mfladd meh needs to sell funnel cake mix!!
@mfladd I need some funnels, thanks for the reminder.
Perfect timing Meh! In for one...er three (in one). :)

I'll bite. In for one set of verbose-respectable-rib
@WilhelmScreamer Just as God intended.
@WilhelmScreamer Just thinking what a bad case of shingles would do to that.
@OldCatLady I googled 'bad case of shingles' and that same image came up.
Just to check up on your work, I Googled 'bad case of shingles', vomited, came back here to say that I'm getting vaccinated and screw you @marklog. :P
@mehdaf trolled.
@mehdaf Kind of like googling for a "blue waffle"

@dmlivezey The only similarity is that they're the same brand.
@PurplePawprints yea, and there are 3, and they're all plastic, and priced in the same ballpark, and only one can be returned almost forever.
@dmlivezey Those are sippy cups for kids. These are larger bottles for adults. Not really targeting the same demographics even if they have a few similar attributes.
@PurplePawprints yea, i'll give you that
Costco has sold these in their physical stores for a long time now. I think it is usually $18 for three, with the occasional $4 or $5 off promo.
@rumpkin I second this.
I use these every day. I have dropped them many times, and while the latch has come open, the bottles have not broken and the latch still works. You can carry all 3 at once with one hand by flipping up the little loop at the top of the bottle.
The latch is also easy to open and close with one hand.
@rumpkin I have them, too. They are mostly used by my four-year-old, either at preschool or at the beach.
@mudskip But if the latch comes open doesn't everything then spill out?
I'll keep on washing out the Dasani bottles and re-using them and save the $12.
Yeah, I'm that much a cheap old bastard.
Which is funny, because I certainly spend on extravagances without a second thought - and sometimes I spend quite a lot. I think this is just a "grandma grew up during the depression" kind of thing I guess. I still can't bring myself to throw away a Cool Whip container or glass jar to this very day - @MrsPavlov has to do it when I'm not looking.
@Pavlov you sound like my mother who I must do the very same thing to keep the house from filling with stuff
@sp3ar Does she save the bread bags too? ; )
@sp3ar You ain't making off with my zip-locks damnit! Them's there for if'n I needs 'em.
@Pavlov but you have the regular sized ones in the fridge? or the cabinet? where you keep those bottles before you save them :)
@Pavlov tip for those ketchup packets - stuff them in the gaps around the egg carton hatch in the fridge. Their longevity is improved (the packets, not the eggs). ;-)
@RedOak Good tip - thanks! Extra dunnage for the eggs never hurts either.
In for one ignorant-dainty-uncle!
must.......... resist............ urge................... to...................... purchase..............................
@sp3ar give in to the meh. Its the mehst thing ever.
@sp3ar only twelve bucks .. Buy it and sell two of the three for 6 bucks a piece to some unsuspecting thirsty friend .. The bottle you kept, the third one, will then be free (well almost free there is that shipping and tax man thing you have to pay ...
Better than any of the Prime Day deals. But still, meh.
The person who did this product write-up has no respect for Jules Winnfield. He would never blasphemy. For this reason alone, I'm out.
@phatmass "Would never Blaspheme" you are welcome!
@PhysAssist Blasphemy is the correct word to use in this context.
@phatmass Wrong, but I no longer care, so whatevs.
These deals keep getting worse.....
Minimally relevant but potentially thought-provoking fact. Treating dehydration and preventing dehydration are not the same thing. Science has proven that water is an effective treatment for dehydration. This led to a bit of a labeling controversy in Europe.

So saving a whole $2 with shipping compared to Amazon? Very Meh. I'd pay a couple bucks more to have the Costco return policy.
