I still like KBS. It’s good, though the brewpub situation is regrettable and they sold out to commercial interests. Wake N Bake is another great classic (sold out now), along with lagunitas cappuccino stout and great divide espresso oak aged yeti. Probably dating myself with these classic beers. BCBS Coffee is good too despite selling out like half the brands I’ve mentioned, though they’ve gone a bit too far raising the price in my opinion.
Coffee beer is firmly a win in the beer community, whether a pastry stout, porter, or BBA stout.
We have a brewery here in So Cal called Noble Ale Works that makes a “coffee infused sweet golden Stout on Nitro” that is out of this world. It has since caused me to drool whenever someone brews coffee at work. Better yet, it’s called Naughty Sauce.
some of my favorites are coffee beers, as long as the coffee is not overpowering and it’s well balanced with bourbon and chocolate. i have a few favorites stashed away like cafe death, dragons milk triple mash, 7 years of KBS…
I can’t say “always” but I’ll never turn one down. Founders breakfast stout is pretty delish. If you’re not a stout or Porter kinda person then I get it, but I’m the same with IPAs. They’re good but most taste the same to me, and I don’t seek them out usually.
Joe is not your average beer! This ale is brewed with locally-roasted, organic, coffee from Passero’s Coffee Roasters. Dark Munich and chocolate malts combine to create a well-balanced, flavorful porter with a fresh roasted coffee aroma.
The Guinness brewery did a small batch Irish coffee stout that was delicious and only at the brewery. But sadly the brewery is now closed due to covid-19.
I like porters which have coffee-like flavors, but coffee beers taste to coffee how candy tastes to fruit, or, best-case, like beer with coffee added to it, two unrelated flavors, so, not as much.
Are those anything like potato pancakes?
You couldn’t have gone back to previous polls to see that I don’t like coffee before wasting my time with this?
Send me one and I’ll find out.
Is this a real thing?
@hchavers
woe-a-woe–a it’s just a fantasy, woe-a-woe-a… it’s not the real thing, woe-a-woe-a…
@hchavers I’m with you. Is this a thing, and if so, why??
@Fuzzalini It’s like asking for something to remind you of your ex-wife’s mother, bitter^2
@Lynnerizer Sometimes a fantasy is all you need…
Absolutely no coffee or beer let alone together! Now a nice liquor and we can drink.
Coffee stouts: these are ok, but not usually what I’m looking to have
PBR hard coffee: very bad

@afwaller if you look at beers that command the highest prices, especially resale and aged, BBA coffee stouts are at or near the top of every list.

You can’t just combine coffee and beer, that’s like combining duct tape and WD-40 it just doesn’t make sense.
Barley. Hops. Yeast. Water.
Nothing more.

I like coffee and I like beer, but generally don’t combine them. I have had tolerable coffee beer, but it’s not my cup of tea.
@2many2no That’s cause it’s beer. And coffee.

Not for every day but this is good:
Joe Coffee Porter

What in the world is a coffee beer? Is that the grown-up version of Four Loko?
Schlafly makes an excellent coffee stout.

Iron Horse Mocha Death is amazing.

I like both coffee and beer, but have never tried coffee bear, I think it must be interesting
The first rule of an intelligent person: never combine these two drinks. Separately, they are beautiful. But their couple is doomed to failure.
I prefer to drink beer in a “pure” form)
Beer and coffee are a burning mixture. It is better to drink without additives, only for true connoisseurs)
