@boygenius1991 I thought so as well until the little green bar said "you can't order any more because you've already ordered 6 of these."
Scuze me, WTF? Sure enough, my order page showed that I had 5 extras that I needed to cancel. Whenever quads/helis come up, meh's ordering gets all screwy.
@zippyus WTF are you on about? I bought two. one had a motor go bad after a month, the other kept breaking props non stop and couldn't hold a charge after using it for a month. I have several other quad copters none of them have these issues. And lets not forget the erratic jerkyness of the tiny remote you are given.
@Pufferfishy I has to agree; my copters didn't last long enough for me to learn how to fly them on a level. otoh, if this more stable ('six gyros - for greater stability, not hunger...') then I guess I'd be in
I had two of them that I purchased just before the first Meh sale (yes - the "new" version) - one of them had issues right out of the box (LED behavior was inconsistent, as was its ability to couple and respond to the controller) and the other was just "out of control" - I supposed I may have needed to work a little harder on yaw or slew adjustments or whatever - but it just flew with a mind of its own, overcompensating for the most minute of change in input on the remote.
And it had a real penchant to crash upside down - which resulted in a steady diet of props until, starting with 16 props total between the 2, I didn't have enough working pieces for one. All for what amounted to about 3 hours of frustration and maybe 35 seconds of actual enjoyment.
I'm glad you folks like yours. Maybe I got "lemons" - I don't need to toss another $20 out the window to find out.
@Pufferfishy it's possible the props were installed in the wrong order. There are two kinds: clockwise and counterclockwise, and the diagonal pairs need to match.
The other thing that can happen is, when the quad inverts and hits carpet props first, it can pick up fibers that wrap around the spindles. If it always tilts one way when you take off, it may be because one of the motors is slowed down by the extra friction. Pop the propeller off with your fingernails, pull any fibers off the rotor spindle, pop it back on, and that often fixes it.
@DaveInSoCal yeah, you should be able to take off indoors with just the left control gently up (not all the way, because you'll smack the ceiling). If the quad zooms to one side, flips over, etc., that's not pilot error, that's probably props installed incorrectly or fibers on the spindles.
@DaveInSoCal Good call, thanks! To others experiencing the same, please note I have not yet received an email order confirmation and never received a confirmation phrase. But they showed up in my history, and my newly-renewed VMP shows up as well. So the orders you're struggling with MAY have gone through with a failure in the "notify customer" subroutine not the "take their money and send them a quadcopter" protocol.
Hooray my order confirmation email arrived about 40 minutes after the order went through, so I am thrilled to share this image with you. (Bated breath can be released...)
Sorry. Just not a deal. The tiny 2gb sd card makes little difference. Google it and find similar prices within a few dollars, especially with $5 shipping tacked on. If it had been less than $20, I might have considered it.
@passeuli It's true that this isn't a great deal, but it's certainly a good deal compared to other places. The $5 shipping may kill it for you, but as a VMP it doesn't factor into the decision.
Also, buying it from meh comes with the comfort of knowing if you have an issue it will most likely be resolved in a timely manner with no trouble from the ever-delightful @hollboll!
Also also, the CX-10's are RIDICULOUS fun! These let you record ridiculous fun. I'm looking forward to watching what the mini sees as I crash it in unusual places.
Just picked one up for the hell of it, have a larger one with cam but the camera is just awful. at least this has some quality to it, especially for a micro copter. Also, are we getting 2 sd cards? or is it just the one from the original amazon bundle?
@cengland0 That would be the 10440 type rechargeable Li-Ion cells, which are about the same size but have more than twice the voltage of an Alkaline battery.
@uwacn Hey, thanks for that info. I didn't know they had a battery the same size as a AAA but at 3.7V until now. I use the 18650 battery all the time but never heard of the 10440.
what's the purpose of flying this thing indoors unless you have a mansion? Watch the youtube videos and you'll see the limitations ... in wind, in flying time, etc
@mcemanuel It only flies for 4-8 minutes. If it takes anything more than that to take off, fly around the house, and land safely then you do have a mansion.
@mcemanuel I only fly indoors and I have a tiny house. It is so tiny... why would you fly outdoors?! The whole point is that it works so well indoors. The one without the camera charges so fast it is crazy. Maybe like 5 to 7 min. I love circling the living room, but my damn dogs freak out about it so I kind of taunt them haha.
Remote controlled thingies with video cameras in them are perhaps my greatest weakness, even though I am now a grown man, unlikely to need to use them to foil bumbling jewel thieves while left in a domicile without adequate adult supervision.
I always love the idea of a good value on a quadcopter however 4-8 minutes of fly time doesn't seem adequate. Sure it's tiny but the fun-factor is killed due to the short lifespan before a recharge.
@minktheshrink I've consistently gotten 8-10 minutes out of my CX-10, but maybe this is a bit lower because it's heavier? The charge time is about 25 minutes, so if you buy 3 you'll be perpetually flying!
@DaveInSoCal You would need four, if my math is correct (assuming 8min each flight). Once one is discharged, you will need about 25min to charge it again, or three flights of other fully charged quads.
I fly the CX10 sold on two for tuesday a few months ago, and it works great. You guys need to go into outdoor mode, at all times. The response is much better. I fly in winds, night time, and in super tight spaces. Its all about skill, patience, and practice. 7-8 mins in the wind is a suprising amount of time, don't be fooled. Buy 2 or 3 and keep a charge rotation going with a usb battery :-)
@TAsunder From Amazon description: Package Included: 1 x CX-10C Mini RC Quadcopter With Camera 1 x Transmitter 1 x USB Charger Cable 4 x Blades 1 x 2GB Card 1 x Card Reader 1 x Screwdriver 1 x User Manual
@accelerator Right, that's why I posted it. But one reviewer noted that it doesn't actually come with the SD card/reader and the pic certainly doesn't include it. So YMMV on this one I guess.
I didn't like mine. Impossible to keep steady and like most low cost quads the throttle is all or nothing. My cat did enjoy it a lot though. So I bought a slightly larger one with is actually flyable just for the kitty.
@supasolly Mine flies amazingly well. You need practice. Cheerson is a great brand. There is even a mode where you don't have to worry about which way it is pointing called "headless mode." With that on East will ALWAYS make it go East and etc no matter how you make the quad turn.
Finally! Something I can connect with like the old days at Woot! An item that I have no use for, but I am compelled to buy because it is cheap. By the way, can I charge it on a McIntosh?
Completely irrelevant side comment: My aunt (now ex as they divorced) is Hungarian. Last person she dated before moving here (and meeting my uncle) was Erno Rubik. Bet she kicks herself for screwing that one up...
Mine is having an issue with only flying for just over 1 minute, and it only takes like 5 minutes to charge. I'm running it through some cycles before consulting support tomorrow in case it just needs to be charged and flown a few times. Also, the video can sometimes be choppy with missing segments and unpredictable as to where it ends - although if it stops recording when the low battery warning happens the early endings make sense.
When I fly it, both my dogs constantly bark at it and try to get it. I've had a few close calls with them snapping at it if they get close enough. Now that I have a camera on board, I was able to capture the closest call yet! This also shows how stable this thing is, I kept flying after this for a bit longer before the lights started blinking time to land.
@sammydog01 She's worth rooting for. The little quadcopter is just a bird that doesn't fly away as fast to her. She's obsessed with things that fly. I don't know that she has a clear plan in the event she catches either one someday :)
@DaveInSoCal thanks. I do expect it would be shorter than the regular cx-10. But not just 1:00-1:30 (1:42 without recording is my record). I also think the battery should take about the same time to charge as the regular one, which is what makes me think mine's just not that healthy. How long does yours take to charge?
We've had a few folks reach out to us to let us know that they were unable to find the SD card and reader so we thought we'd post in here where you can find it:
The micro SD card is inserted in the adapter which is taped in the plastic mold (underside) holding the quad and remote.
@MEHcus Plus you have to insert the SD card upside down, with the contacts facing upwards. My SD card, although marked "2 GB", is actually 4GB (verified all good). It's a little heavy, but flies fine and takes decent video. Mehybe I just got lucky this time, but I like it.
Mine got here yesterday and I decided to give it as a Christmas present. I figure I haven't learned how to fly the ones without a camera yet - they end up upside down on the floor with cat hair wrapped around the blades.
Got mine but am unable to get it to take a picture or record video. The card clicks in place but pushing the either video/picture button seems to have no effect other than a beep from the controller. No light flashing on the copter, nada. Anyone else struggling with this?
@costr I'm having the exact same issue. I just wrote to @meh support about it. The card won't lock in place and even while held in won't take photos. Even google was no help with this issue.
@vin314@thumperchick Thanks for the info! I do have the memory card in "upside down" and seated fully into the drone.
An update though, something must have 'clicked' because now I see the card light on and am able to take pictures/video but now it's like my drone thinks it's at an angle when it's level because it's always trying to fly more to one side and won't take off straight up.
@costr check for fuzz on the motor shafts, that will slow down a side and make it not fly right. Also you can do the calibration procedure from the manual with the quad on a level surface and reset what it thinks is level.
@costr After some experimenting you have to have the throttle(Left stick) all the way down so it connects and is ready to fly. Then you can click the camera button and it will start blinking and recording.
Mine won't hover always moves. I contacted Meh. Directions say it shouldn't. I checked the prop placement I saw above and diagonally they match. Blades look good so I think this is defective....
@ecvogel There is a process to recalibrate the accelerometer in the manual that was in the back of the package with the sd card reader and charging cable. Have you tried it?
One thing about these -- Cheerson cheaped out a little and repurposed the X-axis trim as the camera/video buttons, so if your copter has a lateral drift you'll just have to compensate with the stick, or adjust it some other way.
The manual mentions a trick mode, but I put the manual back in the packaging and the wife accidentally threw it out. How do I enter the different modes?
Also, kind of wish the battery lasted an extra minute or two. It's cool that it charges quickly, though. I understand it takes a lot of power from a very small battery to create the kind of juice to fly.
@Xbob42 Flight modes can be changed by pressing the left stick in like a button. One beep=slow, two=medium, three=fast flight. Pressing the right stick will make it beep and then moving the stick in any direction will cause it to do a flip in that direction. That's the trick mode.
So whenever I try to upload a video to Youtube, there is a terribly loud hissing sound and the video is choppy at an unwatchable level. I upload the same file to vid.me, and it works perfectly.
@joshhofer Yes I noticed the same thing. Only suggestion I have would be to edit it in something like Adobe Premiere or Windows Movie Maker and export it to a different format before uploading to YouTube.
I ordered 2 of these and only received the quadcopter. No charger, no cable, no sd card and no controller. I've emailed 3 times asking for help with no reply. Anyone have a suggestion for me on how to get this addressed. This is a Christmas present for my son and all I have is the dam quadcopter with no way to do anything with it. :( I took a screen shot of "What's in the Box?" 1x Cherson CX-10C Mini Quadcopter with camera 1x Remote transmitter 1x USB charging cable 4x spare blades 1x 2GB micro SD card 1x micro SD card USB adapter 1x User Manual
@jacqualinemd Support can take 1-2 business days to respond and sometimes their replies end up in your spam folder. Is it possible that happened? If you've checked there and they somehow haven't gotten back to you - please try using the form at meh.com/support and try one more time. If you don't hear back within a business day - post it here and we'll tag some CS peeps to look into why the system is eating your emails.
@jacqualinemd was the insert in the bottom of the boxes empty? Weird. I could see one being missing something but two together being completely empty seems stranger.
This video (shortest unboxing I could find) shows pretty much how it's packaged, its very similar anyway:
I got two. I’ve been enjoying one (short battery life, but as advertised and expected), but the other one got some hair in the props (we don’t have long hair, but the spindles are tiny too!). Three props came off, got cleaned, and went back on without a problem, but one of the props was impossible to remove - to the point that pulling on it a little harder resulted in the whole motor ripping out and the wires snapping, with the prop still not detaching!
Have contacted support in the hope that they’ll recognize this as a defect (I assume you’re supposed to be able to replace the props since it comes with spares!) and provide a refund or replacement. Preferably a replacement since the one that works is fun, and we were hoping to do obstacle course races.

Picture this deal
@AttyVette These things are flying out the door.
@AttyVette @mike808 Props to you both.
I "quad"n't say no to this deal
I "shutter" to think about this deal
Kind of more than I wished to pay but damn it I want one of these.
If it were a little cheaper I'd might have gotten another or two for a gift.
No audio? No deal!
@yakkoTDI You should be able to add the BBBBBBBZZBZRZRRRRZRZRRRRRR sound in post.
@stoopkid ^ this.
@nicklkbel ^ that.
@yakkoTDI ^ the other thing.
@Thinkerer ^^^ what they said
what's the deal? I can't buy this, the green bar just reloads indefinitely.
@boygenius1991 Have you tried rebooting? Three times?
@boygenius1991 Same here, but my orders page finally loaded and purchase had gone through. Should be working now.
@deafinoneear Oh no! You should have the option to cancel the extra orders.
@deafinoneear I woke up to emails telling me I had bought three of the critters. Only wanted one.
I'd be in for more than three if they allowed it. I own a CX-10 and have given them out as gifts. Great quad to fly and well-nigh indestructible.
@zippyus Clearly you and I have purchased different CX-10s.
Impossible to fly and they eat props like they're nacho flavored.
@Pufferfishy well, yeah, props are a consumable item on quadcopters, but tell me what yours does when you try to fly and I can help you debug it.
@Pufferfishy Mmmmmmmm... nacho flavored props...
@zippyus Thanks for the offer - but see my comment below.
These things are so impossible to fly what's the point of adding video capability.
Enjoy your 8 second bursts of video followed by a crash.
@Pufferfishy Just have to practice, the non video ones I got from meh are the best flying(as in easiest) micro quads I've ever flown.
@Pufferfishy I think you might be doing it wrong. Although certainly not easy, they're absolutely manageable.
@Pufferfishy practice makes perfect...
@zippyus REALLY good point! It took me a bit and some internet research before i realized there were two different propellers.
@DaveInSoCal yeah, you should be able to take off indoors with just the left control gently up (not all the way, because you'll smack the ceiling). If the quad zooms to one side, flips over, etc., that's not pilot error, that's probably props installed incorrectly or fibers on the spindles.
These things lift off pretty straight.
@zippyus "Fibers on the Spindles" is my next rock band name! 👍
Dogs also hate it. A lot.
@Moose that doggy's going to get a nose owie
I didn't even have to think. Taxing-honored-quartz
Ok, seriously cute. Small tho. Annoy co-workers...that might have merit, depending on setting/context and how po'ed they already are...
Prob not survive a kangaroo punch tho.
As always, meh for no mention of Drone.Horse in the writeup.
And as always for all things drone related, I endorse this deal.
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.
Oh, wait... you won't. WTF meh? Why won't my purchase go through?
@Jasongb yeah I'm having trouble too. I sort of don't need any toys so maybe its a sign...
@Jasongb That makes two of us. I've never gotten shut out of a Fukubukuro, but I can't seal the deal on this microdrone.
@mci ...aaaaaand just like that, it went through.
I'm seeing green bar of death, too. My wifi first (att dsl) and then again on my t-mobile cellular data connection.
@2palms Check your order page. You might have ordered a bunch of them.

@2palms you want to open the image in a new tab THEN get the direct url. The google image search url is funky and doesn't play well with the forums.
AHHH! Want! green bar of DOOOOOOM
Been trying to buy for the last five minutes. Meh pls
$15 at Amazon right now, from ZHANG QING.
@mcanavino with SD card?
@mcanavino That's without the camera
@mcanavino @zippyus It's the CX-10, not the CX-10C. No camera.
@mcanavino Fail...
@rmeden Well frost my tits, you're right. I'm still going to blame the goat.
@cinoclav that's gruesome
C'mon Meh, let the sale go through. You know I'm good for it.
Oh fuck, now it's telling me I already bought three.
I managed to cancel the two I didn't want.
@darksaber99999 Yeah me too - I was able to cancel two though, finally. (whew!)
Sorry. Just not a deal. The tiny 2gb sd card makes little difference. Google it and find similar prices within a few dollars, especially with $5 shipping tacked on. If it had been less than $20, I might have considered it.

Attention people getting "something went terribly wrong" green bar errors: Check your orders page!!!
@darksaber99999 Oh shit I ordered three of these things! I did not want for that to happen!
@pteridoid Or did you...?
@DaveInSoCal The mystery is kind of exciting. But also, in a way, not okay at all.

More than mediocre deal.
@zxinfinity no SD card
@zippyus indeed. but seriously, who doesn't already have at least 20 of them already laying around?
@zxinfinity I'm curious why they make this statement on their site:
What is a powerful AAA battery? Does that include Duracell?
@cengland0 That would be the 10440 type rechargeable Li-Ion cells, which are about the same size but have more than twice the voltage of an Alkaline battery.
@uwacn Hey, thanks for that info. I didn't know they had a battery the same size as a AAA but at 3.7V until now. I use the 18650 battery all the time but never heard of the 10440.
Cool.
Hm.
@loop They're selling the batteries tomorrow.
According to the Internet, I am the 1% of people who can't fly these things worth shit.
You're the 99%, only the 1% who has the amazing touch ability to fly the thing puts video on youtube.
@beats1234 I can't fly mine at all. I'd get a lot of videos of running into the wall.

@Serafyna Loud and annoying buzz from the rotors though.
@kadagan These are actually really quiet
Oh, ok meh. You got me. Let's hope my 10 year old nephew doesn't kill this as fast as he killed the Syma copter I got him a couple Christmases ago.

@minktheshrink Reported flight time is more like 3-4 minutes.
I've bought quadcopters twice from meh and found them impossible to keep in the air for more than a few seconds. Regrets pile. Not doing it again.
I feel like I should be into this, but I'm not. Will you guys still respect me even though I'm not buying this today?
@ACraigL Still?

I'm seeing it for $27 on amazon, with prime shipping. So, $2 cheaper than Meh.
@TAsunder Nice find. It appears that only VMP members and aren't in Texas (no sales tax) benefit from the Meh deal.
@TAsunder comments say no SD card included with the amazon one.
@simulant Aha - good catch.

@ctom3 You should be able to charge on anything with usb. Depends how old your McIntosh is.. And if it's electronic or fruit.
@kadagan (old Woot! joke)
@ctom3 I should have realized that.. It's Monday morning though.. Haha
@ctom3 I was going to go with: No, only credit cards.
@kadagan :)
Ive been duped for sure, oh well....meh.
Now I can show off drone footage like the guys at drone.horse ! No longer will I be relegated to the kid's table!
clear-honorable-plantation
Hey everyone, @Willijs3 just drank the Drone.Horse Kool-Aid! Won't you join them?
+1 for Cabbage Patch kids reference. -1 for your tone. . .
@jrwofuga So, overall...meh?
@dave seems about right. But I bought one.
@jrwofuga Me too.
Great option for my boys...xmas list check off!
Buying this for myself so when I give it to my kids to give to me for Christmas they'll have gotten me exactly what I wanted. At a great price!
@erichdyer Ditto. Question now is... Can you wait till Xmas?
Completely irrelevant side comment: My aunt (now ex as they divorced) is Hungarian. Last person she dated before moving here (and meeting my uncle) was Erno Rubik. Bet she kicks herself for screwing that one up...
For what it's worth, I work in a hotel. We offer toothpaste. Toothbrushes, too. Also combs, razors, shave gel, and deodorant. All free.
@RobinBobcat If you were wise enough to purchase a few of these quadcopters on the corporate credit card you can now offer free flying lessons!
I'm a bit surprised these didn't sellout yet. I guess Meh bought a boatload of quadcopters. 4,276 so far for $112,620 doesn't sound too shabby.
Bet they have 724 left
Got mine today. No SD card or card adapter anywhere. Anyone else?
@adamselby Mine that I opened had the sd card in the adapter, taped in the bottom of the controller packaging next to the charging cable and props.
The other two are gifts so I have not opened them.
@djslack Somehow I missed that. Thanks!
@djslack That video is pretty awesome
@djslack Awesome but sickening.
@sammydog01 Motionally or emotionally?
@djslack Motionally, like trying to read in a moving car. Emotionally I was rooting for the dog.
@sammydog01 She's worth rooting for. The little quadcopter is just a bird that doesn't fly away as fast to her. She's obsessed with things that fly. I don't know that she has a clear plan in the event she catches either one someday :)
@djslack i got maybe 2 minutes of flight time. And same 'quick charge'
@username @djslack I'm getting about 3 minutes or so of flight time with these. I'm thinking that it's heavier and the camera eats battery.
@djslack only a few minutes the first time, about 15 the second. I left it on until the battery died and am going to try again
@djslack even without recording i was not able to get 2 mins. i'm in the same boat :(
FYI because science I did some measuring and the fully loaded CX-10C weighs 15g while the CX-10 weighs 12g. Not as big a difference as I thought.
Cats are also a bit unhappy with them, it seems.
@pib that cat noped the heck outta' there.
@thismyusername I'm just glad I didn't crash the copter into the water dish on the floor at the end of the table.
I'm really surprised this thing works more or less as intended.
We've had a few folks reach out to us to let us know that they were unable to find the SD card and reader so we thought we'd post in here where you can find it:
The micro SD card is inserted in the adapter which is taped in the plastic mold (underside) holding the quad and remote.
Hope that helps!
@MEHcus Plus you have to insert the SD card upside down, with the contacts facing upwards. My SD card, although marked "2 GB", is actually 4GB (verified all good). It's a little heavy, but flies fine and takes decent video. Mehybe I just got lucky this time, but I like it.
@uwacn THANK YOU FOR THAT TIP! I was putting it in face down and it fell out! I almost thought it was gone but luckily I found it.
@MEHcus Thanks, I was worried that it was being shipper separately.
@uwacn Good to know!!!
I just took it out to test the night flight capabilities. I need to practice more!
Watching the couple user videos, sorta wishing I bought one, now.
@Bogie Lucky for you..you still can: https://morningsave.com/deals/cheerson-cx-10c-video-cam-quadcopter-with-sd-card-bundle-2
@vin314 make sure you're putting the memory card in "upside down" with the contacts facing up. It should click into place.
@costr @vin314 - A few comments up, someone mentioned putting the SD card in upside down with the contacts facing upwards.
@vin314 @thumperchick Thanks for the info!
Have you tried it?
i've changed my mind and want one of these. please make it so.
@carl669 Here. It is so. https://morningsave.com/events/holiday-gifts-1
I bought this intending it to be a Christmas gift... now I want to keep it haha
One thing about these -- Cheerson cheaped out a little and repurposed the X-axis trim as the camera/video buttons, so if your copter has a lateral drift you'll just have to compensate with the stick, or adjust it some other way.
Got mine today. Here's test numero uno:
Is there suppose to be a lens in the camera hole or just a cavern and then the pinhole?
@DrunkCat It's a very tiny lens, not much bigger than a pinhole.
@djslack So the lens is inside the pinhole and the empty space from the edge of the plastic to it is normal.
@DrunkCat Without pictures to see it, I'm not sure. If it takes clear video, you're good.
@Xbob42 My kid made my manual "disappear." I did some googling and found this site with a download for the manual: http://www.firstquadcopter.com/downloads/cheerson-cx-10-manual/
So whenever I try to upload a video to Youtube, there is a terribly loud hissing sound and the video is choppy at an unwatchable level. I upload the same file to vid.me, and it works perfectly.
Anyone experience this/have any tips?
@joshhofer Yes I noticed the same thing. Only suggestion I have would be to edit it in something like Adobe Premiere or Windows Movie Maker and export it to a different format before uploading to YouTube.
@joshhofer I experience the same thing. I will try Windows Movie Maker next time I play with it.
Will this thing ever be delivered! I know living all the way on the east coast is far from Meh headquarters, but come on man, its been 3 weeks!
@jferrarie It should have gotten to you about a week ago. Please write in to meh.com/support and see if they can track down your lost not-a-drone.
I took a screen shot of "What's in the Box?"
1x Cherson CX-10C Mini Quadcopter with camera
1x Remote transmitter
1x USB charging cable
4x spare blades
1x 2GB micro SD card
1x micro SD card USB adapter
1x User Manual
Fun device. Battery life terrible :(
These look like lots of fun!
