Cash King Liquidators
5Do you have them?
We have them in oregon. It's like meh's cousin, in physical form, that married early and poorly, and has a history with meth. I've had some good finds, like Divorce Court The Board Game for $3, dented cans of Starbucks frapucinno drinks for 25¢, and there's clearly deals on smokes, and brands I didn't even know existed, but I don't smoke. But mostly it useless crap, like a whole isle of plastic figurines.

I love these types of stores. Most places have them, as outlets for insurance companies who pay for damage to trucks, closeouts of weird items, etc. There is one in the Dallas area on Beltline between Marsh and Webb Chapel.
@tightwad There is?? Thanks! I love those kinds of stores too, it feels like a treasure hunt trying to find something awesome. I will have to go check that one out later
@tightwad Ssshhh. I hope they didn't hear you or we'll have that junk on sale here.
Or maybe we already do... Oh well, as long as it's cheap.
@tightwad Ollie's Outlet!
@smoo99 Are you in Ollie's Army?
@Pamtha Sadly no. Long story but we do take great pleasure in the cheesy circulars.
@smoo99 Good Stuff CHEEP! I remember that place from when I lived in PA. Most notable purchase was a 12" chocolate replica of the Statue of Liberty. At 10, this couldn't have been a more awesome purchase!
@tightwad Indeed!
I want to say yes but I never bothered to venture over to said place. I forget the name but I know we have something like this in Chicagoland area.
@gommiebears Are you thinking of American Science and Surplus? http://www.sciplus.com/ Best store ever. They don't sell cigarettes though. (At least not that I've ever noticed.) Just weird surplus stuff and science stuff. (Hence the name.)
@Mehntok Where in Oregon are you? There is no such place in or around Portland.
@Saffer49 Eugene/Springfield. There are two I know if in Springfield and one in Eugene. I always figured it was a west coast thing.
@Mehntok I'll make a note to check it out the next time we visit my sister-in-law in Cottage Grove.
@Mehntok Have you tried Next Level Burger in Eugene? Is it any good? (I know it's off topic). Also, here on the East Coast we have Odd Lots, Big Lots, and National Liquidators. Dollar stores are a (slightly) better shopping experience. Are dollar stores everywhere?
@naropa that's the new burger joint downtown, right? Not yet. We got big lots here too, but i hear bad things
@SSteve the one in south Springfield is the best, has the most "treasures". And it's right near BRING Recycling which is also great.
I just want pics of that isle of plastic figurines. Is it surrounded like with a mote?
Sorry, couldn't resist.
@Pavlov aha, yes, wrong aisle. I'll have you know they are ceramic.
@Pavlov A moat has water in it, a mote is a tiny piece of something. ;)
@clonetek You understand I intentionally misspelled "moat", don't you?
@Pavlov Should've put quotation marks around it or something until the internet has a sarcasm font.
@clonetek I'm fairly confident it was reader error. Oops, there I go again, forgetting the quotation marks.
In Spokane, WA we have a couple stores call Spokane Discount, they're loaded with Costco returns and discontinued items etc.. they also have lots of stuff that should go to the dump.
There's probably quite a few down similar liquidation/ex-returns/closeout-type stores here in SoCal, but I'm more partial to thrift stores where I have a chance to find Woot shirts there. :) I run across a good number of TeeFury and Threadless shirts that I usually pass up too. Still haven't found any TeeTurtle shirts, though.
I finally bought a Dyson. $15, complete and working fine. I've passed on the Roombas; older complete ones (but probably with weak batteries) typically are priced over $50.
now i need a state by state database of these type of stores. and i might take up smoking again.
In Upstate SC we have a Big Lots in a couple of cities. Also there's Ollies which deals with close outs and I have a local store which deals with scratch and dent grocery and items
@stryper2000 We have both of those in western PA too.. plus Tuesday Morning which I think is the same stuff.
@stryper2000 Same here in western New York. Big lots has great deals on clearnce. Bought artificial christmas tree for $3.60. Ollies has better everyday prices and odd food.
The Unclaimed Baggage center is near here in Scottsboro, AL. People around here make vacations just to go to Scottsboro to look through other people's crap.
@lumpthar I spent 9 years working in an airline's corporate baggage office that sends unclaimed 'stuff' there after several months. Always wanted to see where it ends up. Have you been?
@therealmrsbeny No, but a friend of mine goes about twice a year. I just can't make myself go.
@lumpthar Is that like Storage Wars, where they buy wihtout really knowing what is in it? Or do they open everything and put it on store shelves?
@kadagan Supposedly it used to be sight-unseen, but now they open everything and sell it individually.

@lumpthar I think it would be more exciting without knowing what you're getting.. like a fukusuitcase
Realistic looking toy guns hailing from every country on the Asian continent. Party supplies, various electric cables, and candles. Rows and rows of candles.
