Good Christmas present starter. Buy the red one, add a blanket, first aid kit, flashlight and knife, etc. It’s a "survival kit for your friends & fam to leave in their vehicle.
Killed my last backpack in my final quarter of my undergrad, so nice timing. Besides, as a grad student, I only care about finding free food, not about how ugly my backpack is.

if it would hold 17 inch laptop, i would have bought one for my nephew, but it doesn’t (amazon reviews say its too small, would work for a 15, or 16 inch…), so no sale. (his School district issues 17" laptops to all students grades 7-12, seniors get to keep theirs upon graduation) that red is pretty close to their school color, and it’s a small farming community. carhart/dickies/workwear in general is almost the local uniform anyway…
Can’t beat the price and Carhartt has an excellent reputation. My old GH Bass backpack is about to wear out (after 20 years) so I guess it’s time to be replaced…

tired of spending more, just for them to fall apart in a couple months of use by my kids. mine arent even the rumbustious heathens that destroy everything, backpacks for the most part are over priced, poorly made crap. The ones that are good, and worth the money, my kids hate. the dilemas of being a dad.
Just for future people looking at buying this. If you are… uh… busty, this might not be the backpack for you. The straps are really wide, which seems like a great idea, but in my case, the two ladies SHOVED the straps to the side where they proceeded to dig into my upper arms and give me hives. Yes, this backpack literally gave me hives. I can wear it as long as I don’t load it too heavily, which doesn’t align with my preconceived notions of how many fucktons of crap a backpack should hold.

@eeterrific Reviews say it’s smaller than expected, so maybe not that many. But it’s triple stitched so you can try to cram them in there.
