We have the same choices here that we do in person - if you do not like what someone is saying and you do not want to debate or argue with them, simply do not respond. If that person starts following you around the forums harassing you - tag me. Simply having a strong opinion that other people do not like is not grounds for throwing in the towel and avoiding the conversation.

I am not saying you shouldn't be offended, or defending the term used. I am saying that I try not to censor based on what offends me/others. I try to keep the delete button around for hate speech.

I will add here that over-moderation is the death of forums. We try to walk a balance here. We're not the anything-goes land of 4chan. We're not the child friendly world of Disney. We are a forum for adults to talk, share, engage, and sometimes gif. It's not going to be perfect - as so much of moderating is a gray area - but the attempt is to not halt conversations unless there's no other choice left.

1) get help -- it can come from lots of places and it will only be right with whatever way works for you. It is a big weight and it's not overnight. But there are people willing to help in ways you may not even get yet. Here is a hotline 1-800-273-8255 national suicide prevention hotline.
2) it's not something to joke about either way- (not a joke to say I'm suicidal not a joke to tell someone go kill themselves. Not saying that you are joking. Just stating its not a joke either way)
