@joelmw Unfortunately, I'm certain that abusing my minor powers would get them taken away - even if the community thinks it's a good idea. With mild power comes mild self restraint.
Coffee makers, knives, speaker docks, baby monitors, drones (ok those are cool if you have money to burn). So much yawn. This isn't tempting to me to jump on the VMP bandwagon.
@mehgrl Has been extra Meh lately, but if you buy 1 or 2 items a month it's worthy. I usually find at least that many items so I'm sticking around until I go too long without a buy.
@RedOak you can buy it as a "gift" for someone... and "forget" to give it to them, leaving it to collect dust while you wait for your current coffee maker to die... retire gracefully...
@Thumperchick Hah! Yah, whatever my up front intent, collecting dust (me forgetting it is sitting in on a shelf in the basement) is pretty likely. ;-) I'm pretty connected to our coffee machine. I think she'd sense the deception.
@Baboodiot It's also not supposed to be an eternity before you can have a cup. But it does have the timer, so there's that. Further - I don't see how the "sprayers" on this thing do any spraying at that rate....
I don't use a brewer anymore since I upgraded to a superautomatic - but when I did I had one of those Gevalier "give aways" and it brewed 12 cups in 6 minutes or so.
Meh. Nothing special about this coffee maker. Many coffee makers have the same "shower" spray to evenly brew. Brand name is decent but it might be made by another company (looks suspiciously like a Black & Decker and one of the Mr. Coffee models I've seen). Or maybe they make them and let others put their name on them.
@joelmw I have no idea how good the coffee from that machine is. But it would be wonderful if even a quarter of the companies in existence bothered with proper industrial design like that example.
@Al_Coholic "What is Industrial Design? Industrial Design (ID) is the professional service of creating products and systems that optimize function, value and appearance for the mutual benefit of both user and manufacturer." - Industrial Designers Society of America Think Sir Jonathon Ives at Apple. Not enough companies appreciate it in America. Think Europe.
I have the Krups.. Mine is slowing down, guess I need to clean it..Or, I could open the other one.. Nah...If this came with a Thermal carafe, I would buy it for work, otherwise.. MEH
@Thumperchick I find better flavor from loose tea when it is not confined. Filters and tea cages are not as good as say a french press or a gravity tea strainer.
13 hours later and so far a 20 buck coffee machine is only moving into 105 shipping boxes? Kinda surprising. Christmas is coming.
Dear Meh, Perhaps consider shaking things up with a good quality coffee bean grinder @ a sweet price? (Please not a refurb - unknown dullness)
This one has been a tank for us for many, many years but the blades are dull as butter knives. Cheapskate me is actually considering sharpening the blades.
@RedOak It's not a super deal, that's why. Also, most of us who need coffee on a regular basis usually have multiple options already, negating the "I'll buy it as a spare" sale.
And if you're as cheap as me, you'll go thrift store shopping. My Baratza Virtuoso, missing a lid, was bought for $7.95. And my other four burr coffee grinders, two of which were new, were even cheaper. At $3, I overpaid for the Black and Decker, though; it sucks.
I don't drink a lot of coffee but I've got a coffee maker already, and certainly don't need another one.
Now another kitchen appliance I already have is a toaster BUT if you put up a 4+ slice toaster or something with some gimmick to it I'd probably cave and buy it just because I love toast so much

No one cares if I'm first, or if you're first or if anyone's first.
@Drunkenalien But I care.
@Drunkenalien I was the first to star your comment. But who cares anyway?
@Drunkenalien You guys make it hard not to edit your comments to mess with you.
@yakkoTDI
@Thumperchick If the community votes that you should, will you? You know, because for the sake of the community.
@joelmw Unfortunately, I'm certain that abusing my minor powers would get them taken away - even if the community thinks it's a good idea.

@Thumperchick
@jaremelz I'm really loving and regretting that I posted such a meh picture in that thread. But the way you (ab)use it makes me laugh, every time.
@Thumperchick Again, I live to serve. If by serve, we mean make you both laugh and regret some life choices! :)
@Drunkenalien -Dollar General has the same for 13 bucks. C'mon meh!
When Cameron was in Egypt-land...
@zachhh Let my Cameron go
I don't care if it's not practical, I would still rather have a perpetual chocolate fountain, because chocolate.
@heartny because
@heartny
@Lotsofgoats This
@heartny
@heartbleed I would love to do that :-)
Better than the usual refurb units, but still meh.

@Stallion Only had one instance of two purchases in a row and many long very Meh months. My excitement for Meh midnight is waning.
I've got sharp knives on a pointless day.
When it's cold outside, I've got a coffee maker.
I guess you'd say, what can make me feel this way?
@mehgrl
@nadroj
I'm just a bit reluctant to insult our existing perfectly fine basic 10+ year old coffee machine via buying this as a backup. Karma.
@RedOak But what if your wonderful, magical existing coffee machine breaks and all the stores close?
@looseneck good point. But no worries - we'd break open the camping gear crate...
@RedOak You already typed this here, which put it out there - cat's out of the bag. It knows.
Bragging about 12 cups in 10 minutes is like bragging that you ran a 4 hour 5k.
@Pufferfishy Wait, so I should stop doing that?
@Pufferfishy It's drip - drip is drip is drip. It's not supposed to be fast!
Having picked up an Aeropress earlier, another pass. I blame @jaremelz for the mehness of today's item.
Of course, no blame has gone on this month without an unblame, which is that I found one. Extra unblame - it's unused. Extra extra unblame - $3.
@narfcake Well, that gets a star.
@jaremelz this cat is in sync with the beat of the song I'm listening to right now.
I'm holding out for the 424.02 release.

I transcended the foulness of the office coffee sitch with this lovely number from Krups (and meh) at only $10. And it is indeed awesome.
@joelmw I have no idea how good the coffee from that machine is. But it would be wonderful if even a quarter of the companies in existence bothered with proper industrial design like that example.
@RedOak The coffee is excellent. And yes.
@RedOak What does that mean?

@Al_Coholic Giving some attention to the design of items, rather than just throwing together parts without any real consideration for how it looks.
@dashcloud yah, but ID is more than looks. It is a holistic process. The thing needs to do its function elegantly as well.
The copy for this coffee maker is so Michael Scott.
A bit pricey @ $20 beans. Mehpass
@clarinetbob Technically, the beans are extra.
@clarinetbob @editorkid
Hmm, my sister's coffee maker just stopped working last week. Could I have it sent to her? Do I love her enough? I'll sleep on it.
@mossygreen Yes and maybe!
For "Brew ding " people
"Meh" coffee maker
If it came with the generator.....
I have the Krups.. Mine is slowing down, guess I need to clean it..Or, I could open the other one.. Nah...If this came with a Thermal carafe, I would buy it for work, otherwise.. MEH
First dog toys not cat toys and not coffee but not tea. Never tea. Show some love for cats and tea America and Meh.
@jml326 you could use a coffee maker to make tea - as long as you used it exclusively for tea, it shouldn't be a problem.
@Thumperchick
I find better flavor from loose tea when it is not confined. Filters and tea cages are not as good as say a french press or a gravity tea strainer.
@jml326 I never said it would make good tea...

@uwacn thx. Saw that and one from ereplacementparts for the same delivered price. But I already own a Dremel tool... ;-)
