I thought I’d be up for this if I hadn’t just bought a Wolf countertop oven with my credit card points, but then I read some of the Amazon reviews:
If it’s plugged it, turned off, and there’s a power outage, it turns on by itself when the power comes back on. The manual says to unplug the oven when not in use. Maybe this is why.
If cooking something results in steam, that steam is likely to get into the control panel and cause it to malfunction at least temporarily.
Still, it’s a great price, so maybe I couldn have overlooked these two drawbacks.
@ItalianScallion The display on my $40 Duxtop induction cooktop started weird out on me… We kept using it for a few more weeks, and then the entire unit started turning itself on. When I emailed the company, out of warranty, they had me cut the cord off, send a photo, and they sent me a new one. Regardless, I think a 15-20A smart switch will be installed for any heat-generating appliance that doesn’t have a physical power switch. (cooktop, toaster, air fryer, crock pot, etc)

No rotisserie = hard pass.
No rotisserie is almost a bonus to me, I don’t think I’ll ever use it. The old countertop oven I’ve got now has it and I never have.
But I’ve never bit on this one because that pizza slot looks like it’d be a bitch to clean.
@middlehead You’re missing out! Rotisserie is sooo delicious, we use it multiple times a week here.

@caffeineguy A smart switch is an excellent safety improvement idea! I just happened to have an extra one I can use with my countertop oven… Thanks!
