@venussuz If it helps, this seems overpriced. Individual light strips are usually $5 each at Walmart. I don’t think I’ve seen those light bars at Walmart, but I would say it’s probably a short light strip in a plastic enclosure.
@hchavers I wrote a web crawler to harvest your comment, and send it as a telegram to my hotel lobby boy. He ran up to me breathlessly and said, “Telegram for you sir”. So I waved my hand casually and told him to read it to me, and I tipped him a quarter
RGB light strip according to product images. You want RGBW for the best, richest colors. This is because they have to tweak the green lights to a lime green to make a good-looking “white” light mode.
A fun thing to do, that you can’t do with this, is have three bulbs near each other, one red, one green and one blue, which gives you ordinary looking white light for the most part but everything casts slightly funky colored shadow-edges.
For reducing eye strain and enhancing image quality i highly recommend MediaLight.
They used the white temperature used for professional video.
Their products aren’t cheap or flashy, so they aren’t the choice if you want a light show, but they are terrific if you want accuracy.
Any ambient light will work for eye strain, because your pupils don’t open all the way during dark scenes, but white helps see other colors more accurately.
Any chance there’s a datasheet or specs on how these work? If the light strip was Neopixel/WS2812B for example this would be pretty slick to hook up to some automation.

If that remote is the same one that’s usually supplied in such sets, the bars are around eight to ten inches long - and they have a translucent lens in front of the LEDs. Since they’re USB-powered, they aren’t going to be useful for actual illumination; they’re just a decorative lit-up-thingy.

Yippee!
More members for my strip light club.
It’s ridiculous, I have no use for it - but I want to get it. Help!
@venussuz You’re in the right place

@aarond12 @venussuz I have purchased the light bar at Walmart. $5. Was fun for exactly 5 minutes.
@aarond12 @Bumplepimp @venussuz $1/minute for “fun” might be one of the best deals going. Depends on your definition of “fun,” I suppose…
@venussuz I slept on it and somehow came to my senses, saved $24.
Maybe the remote is nice, but I do everything with my phone; EVERYTHING!
@hchavers I’m reading your comment on my phone.
@gustador @hchavers Velcro.

@bugger @GLaDOS @gustador @hchavers I’m having my service Eclectus Parrot read all of this to me from my telegraph device
@hchavers Bet that saves on toilet paper.

@GLaDOS @gustador @hchavers @roninido lmao. I thought I was the only one with that set up. Can’t beat the old school methods. Right!?
@crow @hchavers and that quarter is worth only .0000025 now
How do you prepare for throwing an outer space themed party?
You planet.

This was $15 at Meijer last week. Reviews kept me away.

@ravenblack interesting. I must try them closer together…
@ravenblack Indeed. That is kind of neat!

Why was the star of the show a bachelor? He couldn’t comet.
The teaser picture looked a lot more exciting than the product turned out to be.
@lisagd so… kind-of like the dating apps?
Exactly!
Got mine and it doesn’t have the remote or the led strip.
