@geekahedron There’s no such thing as “iPhone only” wireless charging. Your android phone might not have magnets that’ll let it attach properly, but stick-on rings and cases with integrated compatible magnets are readily available, and even without them it should work when laying flat as long as you align it correctly.
Also not that the specs here and the images on the brookstone website indicate Android compatibility, so I’m not sure where you got the “iPhone only” idea from in the first place…
@Aspirant_Fool@geekahedron@themeatbridge the earbuds wireless charger area should charge any wireless earbuds with a case that supports wireless charging. Actually any small device that supports qi wireless charging should charge on that area.
The specs say that the wall wart is USB-C, but that the input voltage is 12V (which it could be) but then it shows a cable with a USB-A plug and says that the main power connector type is 2 pin but there’s no power plug, yet the power source is corded electric? WTAFBBQ? That reads like it was composed on the fly by a Presidential candidate in early July! None of that makes the slightest bit of sense!
@midnightplatinu@werehatrack which side of the Mississippi is the side? I usually cross it once (twice, I guess for round-trip) each year. I mostly don’t mind slow charging; some skeptics say it’s better for batteries that way. I think a lot of F.U.D. about battery charging. Some systems better than others.
Or should I restart the discussion of batteries in the refrigerator? It’s been a while since it’s heated-up (Ahem! … figure of speech )
@ergomeh Meh has sold a ton of assorted wireless earbuds that used wireless charging inside of their case, but the case had to be charged with a cord. In fact, I can’t recall any that didn’t charge that way.
@ergomeh@werehatrack they’ve sold the lower-end Anker on occasion, but the cheaper ones don’t support wireless charging for the case. I have 2 pair of Anker earbuds that do support wireless charging, though.
Meh, since i’m holding out for the 6-in-1 model that also has the coffee maker, the Bluetooth speaker, and the solar panel, to further reduce my clutter.
@mediocrebot@phendrick Not judging, but that image is a cool storage bedroom. Mine was a (theoretical) workout room that became storage for Lego and casemates wine.
Mac is a product by Apple; not all of Apple’s devices. This will not charge your Mac. Sorta feels like you haven’t been paying attention if you’re saying that…
@Kyeh They need to inform their buyers to secure more product! If they get too much they can (as usual) relist it on SideDeal at a higher price or put 'em in IRK’s!

Looks like Milton blew a bunch of chargers together.
Kind of burying the lede when the “iphone only” is removed from the product name and descriptions…

Do you have to take off the phone case to ensure a charge?
@mattykillpatty I was going to ask that same thing. Both contact and plugin charging stations stumble with the usage of a case.
@mattykillpatty MagSafe, depends on your iPhone version and case type. My phone and case are MagSafe compatible. My wife’s is not.
FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY
Do not expose to open flame.
Some settling may occur in shipping.
Probably designed in a facility that employs nuts.
Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball.
Does it have the magnet that snaps the phone into the right place? Can’t tell.
@afwaller I suspect that if it did, that would be listed as an explicit feature.
“Foreign Object Detection function.”
So bit racist, init?
@mcanavino Jingoist, more likely.

@werehatrack Yeah, at best this is going to be the slowest charger this side of the Mississippi.
Which is fine for those who only charge overnight, or are always charging at work without ever moving.
But I don’t find slow chargers fit my life in 2024

Has meh ever sold a set of earbuds with wireless charging? It a watch for that matter?

@phendrick
/showme everything in one
@mediocrebot Awesome! Reminds me of my storage bedroom for all things Meh
@mediocrebot @phendrick Not judging, but that image is a cool storage bedroom. Mine was a (theoretical) workout room that became storage for Lego and casemates wine.
EDIT not sure I should be proud of that.
You forgot the knife, @phendrick.
@haydesigner @phendrick It needs to be bundled with microfiber modal-from-bamboo sheets. (Not available in Cal King.)
Spec sheet is all over the place plus Amazon reviews or quite mixed in extremes. Pass.
@meh From the front page: “Is it Mac-compatible”
Mac is a product by Apple; not all of Apple’s devices. This will not charge your Mac. Sorta feels like you haven’t been paying attention if you’re saying that…
@aurmer this comment is bad and you should feel bad
@aurmer @meh I am not sure, but I think the original comment is not Meh-compatible

Neato, but my phone is the only thing I have that charges wirelessly. Cool for those who can use it.
bummer, I missed this deal.
I sure hope I remember to come back and buy this at 4:00.
Huh! Sellouts two days in a row - that hasn’t happened for a while.
@Kyeh They need to inform their buyers to secure more product! If they get too much they can (as usual) relist it on SideDeal at a higher price or put 'em in IRK’s!
@IndifferentDude I think they get all they can, since they usually DON’T sell out.
Is it good to have your phone “Charred”? (See image)
