Product: Quirky Trek 2-in-1 Backpack and Duffel
Model: QKY-TREK-GRY, QKY-TREK-BLK
Condition: New
Versatile 2-in-1 design easily converts from a backpack to a duffel bag to suit travel, commuting, or everyday use
Spacious main compartment provides ample room for clothing, electronics, and daily essentials
Built-in USB charging port lets you conveniently connect a power bank (not included) to charge compatible devices on the go
Also has a USB-C port, but it does not work with all electronics (it’s a relatively old USB-C port without the latest handshake tech)
Our recommendation is to just use your own cord from the power bank through the zippered pass-through
RFID-blocking interior pocket helps protect credit cards and personal information from unauthorized scanning
Multiple storage pockets keep your belongings neatly organized and within easy reach
Exterior water bottle holder keeps drinks separate from electronics and other valuables stored inside the bag
Durable zipper and buckle closures help keep your belongings secure during travel and daily use
Adjustable padded backpack straps provide a comfortable fit for extended carrying
Stay organized with three interchangeable interior organizing pouches that attach securely with hook-and-loop fasteners to neatly store cords, cables, pens, and other small essentials
Two zippered side pockets on the duffle compartment provide convenient extra storage and secure closed with hook-and-loop flaps
A built-in luggage sleeve on the back slides over the handle of your rolling suitcase for effortless travel
Keep your laptop and other valuables protected in the hidden rear zippered pocket for added security
A zippered bottom access panel lets you easily reach the backpack compartment without opening the main duffle section
@phendrick Very good - “banana for scale” always annoys me because they can vary in size quite a bit! I got some delivered the other day and they were so huge compared to what I pick out at the store in person.
@Kyeh@phendrick that’s the problem with delivery for “fresh” fruits and vegetables. I always like choosing myself. For stable products it’s fine.
For bananas, I prefer smaller ones since I actually kind-of hate bananas. That’s assuming I am paying by pound. But if at a place like Trader Joe’s, if they are still charging a fixed price per banana, then I select the bigger ones to get most for the same amount of $$. Then eat 1/2 at a time if it comes down to it.
The other banana trick I learned if you have extras or they start getting too ripe, peel them and then freeze. After that they will be mushy to eat, but good for using in a blender for smoothies.
@Kyeh@phendrick@pmarin you don’t even have to take the peel off, I just throw the whole banana in the freezer and run it under hot water to easily slip off the peel later.
Disclosure: I am the buyer of this deal so take what I say with a grain of salt.
I’ve been using the sample of this backpack/duffel for about 2 months now and I absolutely love it. There are a ton of hidden compartments and the back of the bag has a pass through portion that allows you to slide the bag over the handle of a rolling suitcase (an absolute must for me). There’s a zipper compartment on the back that fits my 13" laptop with plenty of room to spare and the backpack compartment also has an area to fit a laptop or tablet. I invested 6 years ago in a Briggs & Riley Baseline Carry-On and often run out of room for shoes so I love the duffel portion of this bag for shoes and my toiletry bag so that I can fit more clothes in my carry-on. With the addition of this bag to my carry-on, I can now easily pack for a 5 day trip and could stretch to 7 days with summer clothes. I can confidently say that this bag is an absolute steal for $14.99.
@mandirose You were also the buyer for the Outter Limits VaultPack. I was sitting on the fence on that one but your personal experience sold me. This Quirky Trek was an easier sell because I wanted a bag to take to the gym and one when I’m walking around town.
You probably have a slight bias on the price value since you’re the buyer but you’re spot on. You’ve actually used these and added your personal experience, including things you absolutely love. And caveats for the things it doesn’t have. For the VaultPack you included multiple pictures. So thanks for adding your two cents worth.
@rcwbbb happy to do it! I also love the Outter Limits VaultPack and for what it’s worth, I bought another at the same price you all did. That being said, I’ve definitely used this Trek bag more but I travel a lot in the summer, especially road trips and weekend trips.
What’s weird is I can’t find any reviews or commentary of this backpack except here. The packaging has 2019 copyright, and lists the inventor as “William Fine”.
But hrm, they went bankrupt in 2015? So I guess this is the holding company? Enh, that’s… Fine.
Anyways, I have two actual comments about the pack itself:
There are two elastic straps at the “bottom” of the backpack with side-release buckles. Am I supposed to put my bedroll here like some kind of backpacker? Kinda weird.
The duffel functionality seems… fine. Roomy. Great. But after unbuckling the big buckle that keeps it closed in backpack mode, you’re left with these open ends that seem to be crying out for a shoulder strap that would snap into either end.
(One concern might be the quality/durability of the stitching holding the buckles to the bag, as the webbing does not appear to be double-stitched a custom Rickshaw bag I had built years ago. There’s also the concern of potential buckle failure under heavy load. Oh, but also, it was only $14, amirite?)

Bout time you had something for the quirky Trek fans on here.
Not like we’re a dying breed. (Or, are we?)
it amazes me that people try to sell containers without listing any relevant specifications like size. seriously, is this 10cm long or 100cm long?
@tjamesturner At least a banana for scale?

@cfg83 @mediocrebot But mine will get more smiles at the bus station.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Kyeh That’s what she said!

@tjamesturner Dimensions 18.5" x 14.5" x 12"
@kg714x thanks for the dimensions. do you have a source for that claim?
@kg714x @tjamesturner We measured it this morning
@tjamesturner Yep, just scroll up to Specs above…
@Kyeh @phendrick @pmarin
@Kyeh @phendrick @pmarin you don’t even have to take the peel off, I just throw the whole banana in the freezer and run it under hot water to easily slip off the peel later.
@kg714x @tjamesturner purty dang big.
@jerirothe @Kyeh @phendrick @pmarin huh, how hot does the water have to be?
@mediocrebot @phendrick Unironically superior, if I were in a position I’d crank some of this slop out & do a targeted marketing blitz.
@mediocrebot @phendrick BU WHAT Brand are the Bananas
?
What’s the material? Real faux leather?
What’s the weight?
@phendrick
“Faux” is a French word, it’s got an “X” in it, but you don’t even pronounce the “X.”
@Atomizer @phendrick some say the “Faux” term also applies to a conservative cable news channel that also ends with an X.
@Atomizer @phendrick never pronounce the ‘X’.
@Atomizer @JohnQ118 It’d sound like I were coughing.

@allboyshatebras Get a netbook.
@allboyshatebras It can hold a laptop
@allboyshatebras let us know if you have any questions but it can definitely hold a laptop (more than one even). What size laptop do you have?
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.

What is the interior area capacity quoted as?
I wonder how water resistant it is.
This thing is bigger than I expected. I should have paid closer attention. Hoping to still find a decent use for it
Huh. Arrived today. Definitely… Quirky.

Anyways, I have two actual comments about the pack itself:
[Narrator: There is no shoulder strap]
The big buckle strap is 1.5" so it seems like you ought to be able to buy something that would fit, like this: https://www.strapworks.com/1-12-inch-side-release-buckle-belt
(One concern might be the quality/durability of the stitching holding the buckles to the bag, as the webbing does not appear to be double-stitched a custom Rickshaw bag I had built years ago.
