Mine got confiscated by the Nicaraguan customs agents. Apparently I needed a "permiso". They cost me $25. I was using them for charity. I am a good person, please sell them again so I can buy them again.
@carl669 My Spanish isn't that great, and they didn't speak English, but I gathered that I had to go to some office in downtown Managua, pay $20 for a permiso and come back to the airport. But this was Saturday and they weren't open until Monday, and we were going to be at camp all week. We tried to get them when we were leaving, but they wouldn't give them to us because we didn't have the permiso.
@mightym I bought this set and opened them, but I haven't found an excuse to use them yet. How much would you pay me for these amazing and highly sought after 2-way radios? I could probably jam them in a priority flat rate padded envelope and shipping would cost me just over $6, I think. If you're interested, I will provide you with a means to contact me for further negotiations.
you sure they weren't just hitting you up for a bribe?

@matthew
We had a set and they came in handy when we went to theme parks and other large places, but I don't know where they are now. I would buy a set.
If you are in a rush, check Academy sports, they have the midlands on sale all the time....
Would being a sort of crappy person lessen your need for cheap radios?
