@yakkoTDI I think he wanted to be the first comment so typed “The” and submitted it. Then later edited it with exactly what he wanted to say. It’s cheating but effective.
@mdszy don’t need because it’s a terrible size?
Are those trump hands in the picture?
And 1400mah?
Wouldn’t take it for free, but if you paid me…
I’d think about it.
@gallogj I know the newest iPhones will charge off of that. Slow as a snail stuck in shit, but it’ll charge. In fact, they ship with 1A chargers despite them being fully compatible with 2A chargers and are very fast with such.
@gallogj Lets forget the 1A output, 1400mAh, that’s not even half of a charge for the battery in my 4 year old phone, let alone a modern one. This thing has less ‘power bank’ capacity than a couple of AA batteries.
@spacemart I’ve tried to use 1A chargers with my Iphone 6 multiple times with mostly negative results. Either the charger wasn’t recognized or it took a very long time to charge. I’d never buy a 1A charger for a modern smartphone.
@yakkoTDI yeah, same. I’m tired of grinding my nutmeg directly onto what I want it on, or onto a cutting board since my only grater is just one of those old huge four sided ones.
@ConradHilton these are actually most like the grater i remember my parents had 30 years ago, and it might have been a hand-me-down then. it was entirely aluminum but same idea. nice for grating & serving from the same vessel. no need to dirty extra dishes or get cheese all over the counter.
1400mah isn’t much… all those cheap-ass $5 powerbanks with a single 16550 cell inside advertise 2600mah. This would charge my phone to maybe about 50%, and less if it played music while it did that.
@alacrity are… Is… Is that a joke? There are two options (pink and purple) are you talking about something I didn’t notice? They’re Bluetooth, also, not wifi. They connect to your phone, or other bluetooth device, and play music that way. Alternatively, they also have a 3.5mm aux input and output.
@narfcake yeah, passed on those, too. I wonder what else will get speakers shoved in it next, just for the free market to not love so we can get it on the cheap.
In the Party Time photo it looks as though they are using two speakers at the same time but doesn’t each of those speakers require a separate source of music? (Something I learned the first time I bought bluetooth speakers here. It’s OK because they each cost very, very little, but a tiny vision died when they arrived.)
@mehod hmmm… I might have to pick a couple up, then. I would do that right now, if it wasnt for the fact that the last two packages from meh i ordered got marked as delivered but are not in my posession. I need to sort out if my post office is incompetent or if my new neighbors are stealing my mail before I order anything else.
Want even bigger sound? If you have two Braven speakers (Braven 705, Braven 710, Braven 770, Braven LUX), you can pair them together for left and right stereo using TrueWireless Technology. Here’s how you do it:
First be sure to disconnect all Bluetooth connections (if any) on your device and remove any previously paired BRAVEN speakers from your device.
Next, press and hold the battery check button on both BRAVEN speakers for 5 seconds until you hear a sonar sound from each speaker. Within 30 seconds, a second beep will indicate a Bluetooth connection between the BRAVEN speakers.
Now that the speakers are talking to one another, you need to get them talking to your device.
Follow the steps in section one to pair your device with one (not both) of your BRAVEN speakers.
When you turn off either of the BRAVEN speakers while connected, both speakers will turn off. When you’re ready to rock again in TrueWireless Technology, press the power button on both BRAVEN speakers within 5 seconds of each other. Wait approximately 15 seconds. The BRAVEN speakers will automatically reconnect to each other and to the previously connected device. You will hear two beeps indicating Bluetooth is reestablished.
I have the model 710 which is similar (one model up). I really like it (that is why I purchased this one as well). Sounds good & loud. Fairly light & good battery life. Good reviews on amazon.
@Dennis6740 Fakespot is a website that rates Amazon reviews by weeding out free product for review/discount for review writers. Products with too many “fake” reviews get a poor grade.
Anyone know how many watts the speakers are? Or any dB measurements?
The battery is only 1400mAh, which (given a 90% efficiency and a Nexus 6, 3400mAh) means you’ll only get 36% of a phone charge from it. At 1 amp output it’ll also take almost an hour and a half too, so you probably won’t even get that 36%.
I’m sorry my fellow Meh-ers but my last speaker from my my very first meh order passed away today. So I’m asking Meh can you please please offer us/me a good speaker?
Well its definitely NOT a UE BOOM, which I have one of and its awesome!!! But!!! its not bad for the money!!! It sounds good and I wish I would have bought two of them so I could throw it in my Jeep for those sudden, hey lets go to the beach moments and wish you had a speaker for the beach!
I would recommend one of these to a friend, for the price they are OK in my book! And the little charger part could just come in handy one day!
I haven’t used my Braven 705 for a long time. Absolutely nothing happens when I try to turn it on or charge it. I’m quite sure the battery needs to be replaced. The manual doesn’t say how. And I can’t find the answer anywhere online. Anybody know how? Thanks in advance for replies.

The classics: Bluetooth Speaker and power bank… neither of which I need! Meh!
@mdszy Just type a full comment!
@yakkoTDI I think he wanted to be the first comment so typed “The” and submitted it. Then later edited it with exactly what he wanted to say. It’s cheating but effective.
@cengland0 I know what he did, I just think it is funny.
@cengland0 How is it cheating? Are there any rules in the FAQ for “first”?
@cengland0 @yakkoTDI @RedOak all is fair in getting the first comment on a Meh product thread…
@yakkoTDI Kinda funny that they used a full “The” rather than “A” or whatever. Some midnight, those two letters are going to cost them!
I’m apparently in the minority, but these races for the first “quip” are more annoying than not.
@mdszy don’t need because it’s a terrible size?
Are those trump hands in the picture?
And 1400mah?
Wouldn’t take it for free, but if you paid me…
I’d think about it.
@Rumple I have a horrible power bank addiction that can only be fed by 10,000mAh+ banks!
@haydesigner It must be a west coast thing.
Still no purple tooth?
I love purple.
1 Amp max output – no thanks.
@cengland0 If your device is dead in the water, then 1 amp is better than no amps.
is this any good? my jbl pebbles finally crapped out
If it also had a knife blade, I’d buy one.
@daveinwarsh Awful lot of stabbing going on for something without a blade.
Purple + Bluetooth + Speaker = YAY!!!
A BT speaker that is also a phone charger. But not for $24, bring it down meh!
Bluetooth? Check.
Battery bank? Check.
Knife? Nope.
DAMMIT, @mikibell!
@narfcake Cause two out of three ain’t bad.
@mehcuda67 2 out of 3 is … meh.
@narfcake
@mehcuda67 2 out of 3 is … Mehtloaf.
Attracting new members to the secret BT club?
@KDemo Brian Transeau club?
1 AMP output…are there even phones that charge with that weak shizzle?
@gallogj I know the newest iPhones will charge off of that. Slow as a snail stuck in shit, but it’ll charge. In fact, they ship with 1A chargers despite them being fully compatible with 2A chargers and are very fast with such.
@gallogj Lets forget the 1A output, 1400mAh, that’s not even half of a charge for the battery in my 4 year old phone, let alone a modern one. This thing has less ‘power bank’ capacity than a couple of AA batteries.
@DasGrinch actually more like a single AA or less. But if your phone is dead and all you have is this speaker…
@gallogj lower charging amps = longer battery life
@spacemart I’ve tried to use 1A chargers with my Iphone 6 multiple times with mostly negative results. Either the charger wasn’t recognized or it took a very long time to charge. I’d never buy a 1A charger for a modern smartphone.
/image purple cheese grater
@awk I want that cheese grater way more than I want the speaker.

@djslack FTFY.
@narfcake You didn’t FTFY the 16550 to 18650.
@cengland0 That’s because the 2600 rating is a lie anyway.
Gosh, it sure is nice and purple.
"Speak"ing of purple –
is this wi-fi connectable with an app that will change it’s color?
@alacrity are… Is… Is that a joke? There are two options (pink and purple) are you talking about something I didn’t notice? They’re Bluetooth, also, not wifi. They connect to your phone, or other bluetooth device, and play music that way. Alternatively, they also have a 3.5mm aux input and output.
@ConradHilton It’s a joke. Meh sold some BT speaker/light bulbs a while back that relied on an app to change colors.
@narfcake yeah, passed on those, too. I wonder what else will get speakers shoved in it next, just for the free market to not love so we can get it on the cheap.
I really have to get myself a few of these.
And I got this image from eetimes. Sort of a good story.

@Pamela per user manual (link under specs), these can be paired from one source for left/right stereo sound
@mehod Thank you.

I was getting worried. Forget how long its been since meh put up a bluetooth speaker. Thought they’d lost their mehjo.
@eeterrific
http://mehstalker.com/mehhistory.php?search=bluetooth+speaker
@PlacidPenguin Yeah…that’s what I thought. More than a whole month without trying to slog bluetooth speakers!
the ides reference makes up for lack of knife?
Meh write-up! It missed the single (or paired?) most important feature. Braven allows you to:
@mwarren thanks for posting the instructions - 'wondered how they did that.
Agreed, actual stereo separation is a good thing and improves the listening experience dramatically for a given speaker quality.
It is what makes those tiny X-mini speakers sold by Meh more interesting than they would have been if sold single.
Any comments on the volume and sound quality?
@LarryC Nope, just that it’s purple.
@wickhameh That’s all that’s needed.

I can’t resist the magenta one.
@moose I wouldn’t have noticed, and the last photo is my favorite thing about the daily sale.
I would have gone with “Et tu Brew-te?” as a more appropriate title and pushed this instead. Or even a coffeemaker with Bluetooth speaker…

Another no name brand item no one has ever heard of before, with a FakeSpot grade of C, which means the reviews are bought and paid for.
This speaker doesn’t look like a good deal even without that FakeSpot info. WITH that FakeSpot info, it’s definitely way meh.
@KwadGuy what do you mean by FakeSpot please? You mean the black rubber side panel thingy?
@Dennis6740 Fakespot is a website that rates Amazon reviews by weeding out free product for review/discount for review writers. Products with too many “fake” reviews get a poor grade.

@ManBehindPlan Purple is a great choice!
I’m sorry my fellow Meh-ers but my last speaker from my my very first meh order passed away today. So I’m asking Meh can you please please offer us/me a good speaker?
If I didn’t already have too many bluetooth speakers I would get two of these. Good price for decent sounding speakers.

I still use this daily.
