I couldn’t vote as I know nothing about this. It breaks my streak, whatever it is, Maybe I’ll go back and pick the third, since I left this note. There really ought to be a choice for us know-nothings! And for those of us who don’t like beer!
@andyw (Option 4 or D none of the above) Agree i know nothing of sort and seldom drink beer and when I do socially its got to be the lightest stuff watered down piss water lol
@andyw I broke my streak too. I’m not much of a wine drinker, and I don’t drink beer at all. Bourbon-barrel-aged red wine sounds all kinds of wrong, though I’d be willing to try it once. For science.
@ahacksaw I guess I’m like you-2-3 sips of my wife’s wine once a month, a few sips of beer once a year and maybe two weak hard alcohol mixed drinks (ie. pina colada or bloody mary) a year. The stuff makes me tired or high, neither of which I need these days. It was OK when I was younger, but not for the last 30-40 years. I did choose #3 since I posted these notes.
I drive from Ohio to a winery in West Virginia to buy their Velvet Buddah and Little Red Pecker red wines. They age their reds in Buffalo Trace barrels. Then they take the barrel tops, affix handles and create trays. Our Sibling Revelry (not Rivalry) is the winery. They are in Point Pleasant West Virginia - home of the Mothman and the setting of the Mothman Prophecies book by John Keel and the movie with Richard Gere. Check em out!
@andyw even if Clarksburg isn’t close you shouldn’t let it stop you from visiting next time you are in West Virginia. They are open to public on week-ends only. So get your Hillbilly Hot Dog then head on over!
Bourbon barrel aged bourbon.
@Ignorant the best use of a bourbon barrel.
@Ignorant This is what I came here to say.
Send me a barrel and we’ll find out.
Bourbon County Stout
Oh to drink enough to have an opinion on such a thing…
Why put another poll answer as “Never tried it but willing too” for market research?
Woops! Sorry for the insult meh. I did not mean to imply you were logical.

@andyw I replied anyway just to say I would rather drink the bourbon that was in the barrels before they were sullied by an inferior beverage.
Technically, it’s a Port.
It is… delicious!
@2many2no Oh, I like port. Can I change my vote?

@allergycheryl My wife is from near Clarksburg, which is not very close to Point Pleasant and we have not visited it.

Robert Mondavi makes a Bourbon barrel and Rum Barrel aged that is good. I got this from Casemates, and it was wonderful!
Founder’s Kentucky Breakfast Stout
Short’s Bourbon Barrel Huma Lupa Licious
Love me some bourbon barrel beers.
bourbon barrel aged wines are normally on the heavy side (rich).
Espolon Añejo bourbon barrel aged tequila.
Best of both worlds.
This seasonal beer is tasty but hard to find:
I don’t like bourbon barrel beer, and don’t really drink wine, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i really liked the 1000 Stories gold rush red they had over at casemates.
