Sorry if this is a duplicate, I can’t find the book club thread and the search function seems different in a way that I don’t like. (Or is it just me?)
@Mossygreen recommended The Last Days of Jack Sparks by Jason Arnopp. The reviews all said it was humorous. I found it terrifying. Also another book where I had to go through and reread things after the ending. I need to just do the whole book again at some point.
Thanks @mossygreen, it was amazing! Any other recommendations?
I just finished reading (listening to) Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I had never read it before but the monster was such a departure from how he has been presented in the movies. Kind of interesting and worth checking out.
I read Doctor Sleep a bit ago, and I honestly really enjoyed it. It had horror and humor intertwined together in a beautiful narrative. Defiantly my favorite Stephen King book.
@Wollyhop Have you read The Shining (precursor to Doctor Sleep)? Superior read, IMHO.
(Same goes for most of his early novels vs. more recent ones. He kind of lost me as a fan sometime around the turn of the millennium.)
@macromeh
Oh yeah, that is why I read D.S. I loved the Shining, so I wanted the story to continue.
Gotta say though, Duma Key is too boring. I tried reading it a long time ago, and never finished.
Another one I recently finished reading (listening to) was the Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. The author was also the narrator for the audio book and I thought he did a really good job.

@Wollyhop I just reread The Bachman Books in preparation for seeing The Long Walk (yesterday) and the new version of The Running Man later this year.
@Wollyhop “Defiantly?” Is anyone trying to talk you out of that opinion?

@Wollyhop Agree - I also was not impressed with Duma Key, but I stubbornly slogged through it foolishly hoping for redemption.
Just started reading Apollo Murders #1 - Chris Hadfield
No opinion yet.
Been reading a lot of older series sets. Dinosaur Lake and a paranormal witch one. They are light reading.
Oh, latest October Daye by Seanan McGuire. Love those
@Cerridwyn
So glad to learn that Hadfield is doing fiction!
)I’m guessing it’s a fictional series, right?)
@f00l what has to only assume so. It’s the first in a series so we will see
