BOGO Foodsaver bags
8The Foodsaver.com website has their bags BOGO free right now with free shipping. I’m going to assume that’s the cheapest way to buy them.
Has anyone tried their marinating bags?
Vacuum seal everything!
Just be aware that when trying to search photos of vacuum sealing… There is an oddly high proportion of vacuum sealed human beings in weird poses.

lol, thanks for the warning.

I didn’t know they had marinating bags. I’ll check them out. Hopefully I can get them at the company store
@ELUNO I looked at them again… It says you can seal marinated meat, but doesn’t say you can actually marinate in them. My mistake.

@RiotDemon Ah, that makes more sense, but those still look good. I tried sealing some soggy sausages and I had a bad time… When the sealing area gets wet it doesn’t seal correctly… I might give these a try.
@ELUNO I read through some of the reviews, and people suggested just putting a paper towel before the seal.
@RiotDemon I will give that a try! Thanks!
Never had an issue sealing wet stuff. there is a setting for wet or dry and it works a bit different
@Cerridwyn depends on the model… mine doesn’t have that option…
Thank you for sharing.
I am going to order some tomorrow.
I am picking up my meat for the year next week from a family who raises grass fed beef.
if you use seal (animal) meat with marinade (noun) in the bag it does marinate (verb) faster
mileage may vary based on road condition

Thanks for the heads up and the tips! Vacuum sealing meat with marinade has always been a little tricky, I’m going to try the paper towel trick. Foods with a lot of liquid I usually seal after freezing for a few hours.
@callow I’ve been freezing it partially before vacuuming and then I would do two seals since it left about an inch where I could put a second deal.
@RiotDemon @callow I tried freezing partially but I forgot about it and froze it completely… doh!
@ELUNO I did that last time… Then I had to partially unfreeze it so I could vacuum it properly… Oops
@RiotDemon I just said screw it and left it frozen like that.
@ELUNO I had three different bags. I sealed the completely frozen one but it left huge air pockets around the meat, so I let the others thaw a little bit.
I tried their marinating container once. It literally imploded an hour after I put it in the fridge.
Chamber Sealers are the way to go if you’re serious about marinating or just marinate a lot. They cost a lot up front, but the bags are cheaper and you can seal liquids which makes them mighty handy.
@Knightp link?
