Boat of the year Scout 320 LXF
13We have a boat of the year award. Today I finally saw something that in decades of reading boat magazines I have never before seen. It is a feature on a new model boat where the stock picture has not only a woman at the helm dressed in a realistic t-shirt and shorts but also her two passengers are realistically dressed women. I want to commend

Now in addition to the most progressive boat ad picture I have ever seen they are good boats. Scout is known for good quality construction. The featured Scout 320 LXF is. 32 ft center console sportfisher with a nice hardtop. Scouts handle well going thru chop in my experience.

Hey! Aren’t those women a little over-dressed?Great job Scout Boats!
@therealjrn Yes, very good job indeed! They managed to get this great picture right before the driver ran over a fishing boat and crashed into a marina!
@capguncowboy I don’t understand how that’s done. Please demonstrate.
@OldCatLady
Pretty sure it’s the same boat just seconds after that picture was taken
@capguncowboy A woman driver joke!
@capguncowboy fyi that was a man at the helm of the boat in your video
@capguncowboy not cool, not funny
@CaptAmehrican I was just showing how it was done. Funny is a relative term.
@capguncowboy Funny is what happens to other people, tragedy is what happens to me.
@capguncowboy that video is terrifying. Yikes.
I sent an email complimenting this picture to the head of marketing for scout yesterday. I just got a response and found out 2 of the women in the picture work there. This makes it even better.
Well that’s depressing. I mean, I’m not at all surprised, but still. Bleh.
Unrelated: I know pretty much one thing about boats, and that is that their natural habitat is water. So the answer to this probably won’t mean much to me, but I’m oddly curious - what are the doodads sticking out of the roof of the boat?
@brhfl Those long poles are called outriggers! They’re used for pulling long lines behind the boat to catch big fish. This is generally called ‘trolling’…not to be confused with the newer Internet-based definition!
@PooltoyWolf My first thought was ‘some kind of bonkers fishing pole!?’ but I dismissed that outright. Wild! Thanks.
@brhfl Hahaha no problem!
This thread needs some boats and ho’s.
