This is hella funny. I literally five minutes ago pulled one of these out of the closet that I received in a fuko last year. Just set it down long enough to check meh…
Wow! Superior Holographic Technology!! (Says so right on the box!) So if I put this on a deck, I’d have a holograph deck??!! (Sorry, I’m in a ! mood tonight!)
@cengland0 a description i read on eBay said they will twinkle, chase, and fade. Don’t know if that includes moving, and so far haven’t found a video of this model.
@cengland0 I’m not sure how they achieve the effect with what looks like a diffraction grate and a mirror, but chase should be where the blinky lights follow along a pattern. Let’s see if my pal giphy can help.
@Fen_Star The “pro” series seems to start at 15mW, so I am guessing the laser pointer from the $1 store should be comparable… I am not sure I want to pay $20 for a mirror.
@OutbackJon The site I found them on listed them as new with a 12 month warranty. The site I found them on is, am I allowed to use the W word here, under tools 10/25.
I have an Arctic and a Krypton. I made a projector by hot gluing a round dental mirror to the shaft of a cheap handheld fan, at a slight angle. Hit it with the laser and you get a laser “tunnel.” Smoke (or vapor) makes it even better.
Filling balloons with hydrogen and hitting them with the laser makes them explode in an amusing fashion. Fun at parties!
Does anyone know what has happened to meh prices recently? Last year I bought couple of new ones from different vendor at less than this.
Just like famous laser joke:
“Do not stare into the beam with your remaining good eye”
Soon it is going to be:
“Do not buy from meh with your remaining good money”?
Come on meh, be THE meh we knew again…TRIO should mean get three refubs for the price of one, instead on usual half price for refub and contrary to full price…
Just say no to these horrid devices. My family likes to call places that use these “pox houses” or “zit homes” They make your home look like a bad red and green rash.
Only reasonable use for them is to shoot them up into a tree, along with some real Christmas lights on the house.
I got the 4 pack as my wife has been bugging me to get some Christmas Lasers this year. I’ll come back and let you all see how awesome they look when I get them set up
I had a half dozen neighbors that had these last year - most were non-functional in a week or two. (and this is in the brutal 50 degree Florida winters)
Wow! My name is Alan, and I work with lasers. The coolness of my job compensates for the meh-ness of my name…
I’d you are a fan of lasers, check out the LCLS at SLAC; the world’s first x-ray free electron laser - XFEL. Or would it be AXLEN, Amplified X-Ray Light by Electron Nudging?
The red LED in mine just failed the other day. According to the BlissLights website, to make a warranty claim, you have to send them a letter. Yeah, an actual letter with a stamp.
@TexasDex Seems that red lasers in general are weaker than others due to not having as much energy compared to the blues and greens. There have been a couple cases of the red laser not being properly focused though.

Meh
Does Blue Sky still make an orange cream flavour?
@yakkoTDI Oooh, that sounds really nice right now. It’s been too long since I had something like that.
This is hella funny. I literally five minutes ago pulled one of these out of the closet that I received in a fuko last year. Just set it down long enough to check meh…
@jmhsrv So, from last year’s experience, is it worth it?
Agree
Can someone find a video. Oh I know…YouTube…
Is this somehow better than the ones I see for $10 everywhere?
@ponagathos Yes, those are shit these are Meh.
@cranky1950 ha
@ponagathos Hey, 4x better from the description. How much better can you handle?
Less lights, more Alexa.
/image Alexa Bliss
@JT954 why can’t we have both?
@JT954 OMG. except for the hair, she looks identical to a good friend of mine. Now I’m wondering if she has a secret (public) life.
@JT954 it worked for Mylie Stewart.
@JT954 Grammar here. “Fewer lights,” please.
@JT954 Hey, it’s Kelly Bundy!
Wow! Superior Holographic Technology!! (Says so right on the box!) So if I put this on a deck, I’d have a holograph deck??!! (Sorry, I’m in a ! mood tonight!)
Do the dots move or are they in a static position when projected on the house?
@cengland0 a description i read on eBay said they will twinkle, chase, and fade. Don’t know if that includes moving, and so far haven’t found a video of this model.
@djslack Thanks. I understood those modes by looking at the remote buttons. But what effect is chase?
@cengland0 I’m not sure how they achieve the effect with what looks like a diffraction grate and a mirror, but chase should be where the blinky lights follow along a pattern. Let’s see if my pal giphy can help.
/giphy chasing christmas lights pattern
@djslack you were our best hope for a technical analysis.
@cengland0 usually a sequential, such as…
8000
0800
0080
0008
I tried asterisks first instead of 8’s, but I guess that seemed shady.
@zachhh It sounded technical to me.
@cengland0 Knight Rider, maybe?
@cengland0 /giphy chaser
@blaineg That’s a Larson scanner. It’s a bidirectional chase pattern.

What is the wattage on the lasers?
@Fen_Star The “pro” series seems to start at 15mW, so I am guessing the laser pointer from the $1 store should be comparable… I am not sure I want to pay $20 for a mirror.
Why do I want something that makes my house look like it has mites?
Too many Xmas gifts on meh. When can we get a Festivus pole or something?
@gglockner SERENITY NOW!!!
Yeah, no I don’t think so, Meh. Try again next time.
How was laser cat toy not on the poll today?
Or for a laser guided bee cannon.
Or mounting on shark’s heads.
Come on Meh.
So what does the “LAZER” in Major Lazer stand for?
Looks like the Meh button has the pox. CDC, where are you? Quarantine?
@phendrick way to point out our adolescent acne. JERK.
@Thumperchick
Temperamental teens! Geesh!

I found 1 review of this model - Bought two of them. One worked, barely, and the other was DOA. I would stay away. But Meh may be different.
@laidbackoh Well, in order for “refurbs” to happen, there have to be defective ones that got returned.
@OutbackJon The site I found them on listed them as new with a 12 month warranty. The site I found them on is, am I allowed to use the W word here, under tools 10/25.
@laidbackoh you can say woot.com here- meh knows woot is shit so they aren’t afraid of the mention.
I would love to hear that that middle school picture is of someone at Meh but I would imagine it’s just some interweb found image
@sp3ar Why not both?
A video would actually help this deal out.
And back in my day, we just used blotter acid and it only costs us $2 for 12 hours of light show.
For us too lazy to put up lights this year, the Bliss Laser to the rescue.
Will it arrive before Christmas Eve / Festivus / Kwanzaa? Who am I kidding? It will set in the box “until next year”.
I have an Arctic and a Krypton. I made a projector by hot gluing a round dental mirror to the shaft of a cheap handheld fan, at a slight angle. Hit it with the laser and you get a laser “tunnel.” Smoke (or vapor) makes it even better.

@droopus said “shaft”
@TimW lol…

When they mentioned Major Alan, I thought they were linking to this video.

pew pew
My neighbor has two of these and they’re actual quite annoying because it shines into our windows as well
@AiraCobra you could send them A STRONGLY WORDED LETTER
@communist Or i could let my dog piss on her bushes, Haven’t decided yet >: D
@AiraCobra If the lights shine into your windows then people can see in too. You need drapes or shade which I just happen to make for a living!
@callow But then the neighbors won’t get to see me do the naked hokey pokey, It is the highlight of their night y’kno?
@AiraCobra Perhaps you’ve discovered the reason for the long distance “decoration”? We usually decorate the things we appreciate…LOL
@AiraCobra “Why is the carpet all wet, Todd?” “I don’t know, Margo.”
I got the 4 pack as my wife has been bugging me to get some Christmas Lasers this year. I’ll come back and let you all see how awesome they look when I get them set up
These laser things are the tackiest goddamn things.
@rpwersal
Duh, they were developed by the Chinese.
@rpwersal Tacky ? GREAT ! That’s why I doubled my order…
I wonder what’s the Power rating on these units ?
If you want to wait for NEW, Amazon will have them—
[Nov. 22 @ $69.99 ][1]

I’ve got to get at least one, best present ever for my young nephew. Can’t wait to see what his imagination comes up with.
Of course I’m creating another project for me to help him with…
My best use of a laser is for a pointer when giving talks with slides or “slides”.
@andyw that would be pretty funny with today’s product
@katylava I didn’t think of that!-Thanks.
If the talk were not confusing enough, this would make it more so!
The only time I’ve ever liked one of these was when it was shining up into a 40 ft pine tree. On houses it’s Meh.
@callow agreed. They look awesome in trees, especially when the wind moves the branches around.
After seeing the newest lasers that rotate and change color, and change patterns, these seem really boring.
@RiotDemon What? Where? Home Depot has nothing so high tech…
@Pufferfishy Lowe’s had it. This page shows a video, but it’s much more impressive in person.
https://m.lowes.com/pd/Show-Lights-Laser-Projector-RGB-Moving/1000275455
It’s also really expensive.
Can these be used for hair removal?
@Bumplepimp Nope, but I hear they’re great for DIY laser eye surgery. Give one a try!
Blisslight imo is the premium name in the industry.
Does this model move the lights? I like how the moving Blisslight doesn’t move quickly, but not sure if thats a feature of this model
Pink Floyd might not have a Christmas album, but will this hold you over?
Yes, White Christmas is on there…
@rprussell Or maybe some Emerson, Lake and Palmer…
Still my favorite “Christmas” song
Seems like there are tons of similar products available on Amazon for less than this.
No! Pink Floyd is just fine they way they are/were.
… as is/will be our home without these contraptions.
Aren’t these like $20 at Home Depot?
I had a half dozen neighbors that had these last year - most were non-functional in a week or two. (and this is in the brutal 50 degree Florida winters)
OK - the Home Depot units for $20 don’t have blue. Woopie dink.
Wow, it’s like “Buy 3 1/3, get 2/3 free”!
I Need these in white, but it’s red and green everywhere.
I should have bought these. It never occurred to me the rest of the year I could use them as a neat hallway light.
@wew You still can get them!
https://morningsave.com/deals/blisslights-trio-laser-projector-2
I’m actually really happy with this. They’re more powerful than other ones I’ve seen. The blue makes a big difference.
@peabs007 Oh what a cute house! That looks very nice and festive.
I got 4 of these for 100 from Meh. One of the red LEDs died in one of them after about 6 hours. I wrote to Meh, but no resolution and no contact yet.
@Brasssong
The red LED in mine just failed the other day. According to the BlissLights website, to make a warranty claim, you have to send them a letter. Yeah, an actual letter with a stamp.
I bought 4. Only setup 2. Both of them have BAD RED Lasers. Anyone had luck getting these replaced/repaired/returned?
@kengillie Same thing happened to me. The red laser is turning on, but it’s super-dim, so you don’t see any points from it.
@TexasDex Seems that red lasers in general are weaker than others due to not having as much energy compared to the blues and greens. There have been a couple cases of the red laser not being properly focused though.
