Blame the Goat! (Meh Tools Unofficial Chrome Extension)
12Download the Meh Tools Beta Chrome Extension from my Google Drive:
- Unzip the file to its own folder in a location you can find later.
- Navigate to "chrome : //extensions" (no spaces)
- Install the unpacked developer extension
- Refresh a meh.com/forum tab and look for the Goat in the right corner.
- Click the goat to modify the settings. Add your username, select the desired badge and update the goat you would like to blame everything on (if you feel so inclined).
- Observe that your badge will now be updated to the one you selected.
- Observe that there is a new button next to all "reply" buttons called "Blame". Clicking this will start you off with calling out the goat instead of the person you were replying to.
Remember: This is a beta and there are probably a lot of bugs, please let me know about them here, all while cursing out the goat.
Also, please let me know if you have any reasonable suggestions, I won't listen to all of them but I will see what I can do.
Blame @studerc if there are bugs, because I know there are bugs.

This is crazy voodoo wizardry and I have no idea how to feel.
This is awesome! Nice work @TaRDy! Firefox version in the works? :)
@jsh139 I don't know about a Firefox version, this is my first extension and I'm not a web dev so this all takes me a bit longer than it should.
A Breakfast Octopus impersonation option! More like "click here to make @snapster mad at you".
I am so excited about this!!! YAY! I will have my OWN breakfast octopus badge!
In your face @snapster (in the nicest possible way of course) !!!
Super. This is how the scapegoat apocalypse happens, people. YOU WERE WARNED! THE BLEAT IS NIGH! DAMN YOU @STUDERC!
This is fantastic.
I don't even know what this is but I think it might be genius.
I have made some updates, it is now to version 0.2! The settings popup looks a little nicer now and you can enable/disable each of the two options.
Also, I have started using GitHub to store the code so you can grab the latest from there:

@JonT, can you please update my original post to link to GitHub instead?
Looks way cool, but way too complicated for me….. I'll remain goatless.
Damnit @studerc, why did you let me make it too complicated for @bluedog?
@TaRDy Yeah! It's all @studerc's fault!!
@bluedog being goatless is a good thing. Trust me. Apologies again for making things a bit complicated. :)
New update adds "Self Star Automatically" feature.
After a lot of debate, I decided to disable this by default since my username is the default and it would start starring all of my posts on a page by the unsuspecting user.

Self star is cool I guess, but I see no point in changing the badge if only you can see it.
Paper, scissors, a goat stamp and super glue would work too - right?
ps Nice you spent some time to teach meh what they need to do. Maybe they will pay you a royalty to swipe the idea. On principle I will not use chrome though as I trust google about as much as I trust facebook… safari user with firefox as my backup.
make it mac/safari friendly please.
@ceagee I'll see what I can do the second week of August, it looks like I'm getting bored with playing video games right now, so I might revive this project, but not sure how long Safari would take or if it would actually happen, I have never used safari.
@TaRDy Thanks !
