It’s the day before Black Friday on a deals site and no Black Friday deals thread. What gives? Are there no good deals, or are we too cool to school with the Black Friday fishes? Seen anything good you’d like to share?
@medz Oops, I guess I’m in my own time zone. Some of the online BF sales start tomorrow, so that’s what I meant. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
@moondrake JC Penney stores open at 2 PM tomorrow. WalMart 24 hour stores will stay open but the specials won’t be active until 6 PM. Black Friday on Thursday? Time Warp Friday?
@daveinwarsh@OldCatLady Ditto. I also won’t go to stores that open on Thanksgiving for any holiday shopping, and I tell them so. Last year I even sent letters to Walmart, Target, and some others letting them know how much I spent elsewhere.
They don’t care. There are enough people who don’t give a crap about the people forced to work on a national holiday as long as they get a deal on a tv or something.
@RiotDemon Every year I say the same thing: People don’t like spending time with their family and would rather go out shopping. I also say: There’s nothing good on tv. The first statement just seems truer every year.
@medz A substantial number of people don’t get paid for holidays. When I was working contract labor, my office closing Thursday and Friday for Thankgiving and closing the week between Christmas and New Years meant that I was really struggling to pay my rent in December and January. I would beg my boss to let me come in and work on those days. I suspect quite a lot of people in retail are stuck on the 30 hour week, no holidays, no sick leave system. They may need these holiday hours to feed their families.
@mossygreen Not everyone has a family. Or the family they do have is far away. Sometimes working or plunging into the bustle of holiday shoppers is better than the silence of an empty house.
@moondrake@medz
I know people who work at Cabela’s, and folks at work know others. They were going to have Thanksgiving off, as always; it was the company’s policy and tradition to honor the holiday. Then Bass Pro took over in late September. For fans of Cabela’s this was expected to be bad news…
There wasn’t much notice, especially for folks who had made plans, purchased airline tickets to come to the home of a Cabela’s employee for Thanksgiving, etc, when Bass Pro mandated that Cabela’s open on Thanksgiving just like Bass Pro (which hasn’t given a shit about Thanksgiving for a while, don’t know how long). Bass Pro opens on Thanksgiving (one reason among many I don’t buy from them); now Cabela’s has to also (and no grace period for this year).
If working Thanksgiving is a choice, thats one thing. But odds are a big retail store in most areas of the US won’t get enough volunteers to run on Thanksgiving without requiring at least some employees to come in regardless of their preference.
I feel for folks with no family, or none nearby, but if their desire to “plunge into the bustle of holiday shoppers” a day early as a surcease comes at the cost of the Thanksgiving Holiday for those who desire to be with their families and friends or to spend it alone, and at the cost of demeaning a holiday that should matter more than being just a ‘presales for Christmas’ day, then sorry, they should just have to find another way to spend their day.
Menards: "To our valued guests, As a family-owned company, Menards recognizes Thanksgiving for what it truly is, a special holiday that’s celebrated with family and friends. That’s why we will continue our longstanding tradition of staying closed on Thanksgiving Day. And at 6 A.M. on Friday morning we invite you back to save BIG Money during our Black Friday Sale! You’ll find incredible deals on hundreds of items!
From our family to yours, have a Happy Thanksgiving!
#Thanksgivingisforfamily"
Menards, Costco, and stores like them that maintain their policy to remain closed on Thanksgiving have earned my loyalty. And a letter thanking them for continuing to honor the holiday and respecting their employees.
Walmart, Carsons, Kohls, and other such earn a nastygram and no business until after Christmas (if Thanksgiving is their only major transgression) or ever (like Bass Pro) if they just suck in general.
@duodec My reply was to the post saying “People don’t like spending time with their family and would rather go out shopping”. I wasn’t suggesting stores should be expected to open on holidays, I actually support stores that close on holidays, if they pay their employees for the time off. But trying to avoid unpleasant family members is certainly not the only reason people choose to work or shop on holidays. There are people who need the day’s pay to make ends meet. There are sad and lonely people, made sadder and lonelier by all the inescapable emphasis on family and togetherness during the holidays. There are people who don’t observe holidays, or whose holidays don’t include this one. It’s a big old complicated world, it can’t all be painted with a single brush.
I’m waiting until Xbox One X prices come down, but Kohl’s has a “door buster” on a new 500 GB Xbox One S with a $45 Kohl’s gift card for only $190. Add an external hard drive and that ain’t bad at all. The reason this is appealing to me is my wife likes shopping at Kohl’s so the $45 kohl’s cash is a nice incentive.
@medz I keep flipping between Xbone and PS4. Or maybe Switch. Can’t decide. This is the best money saving tool I have… no decision is the most affordable option.
I find PSVR pretty interesting, but I wonder if it’s going to be like Move and never get purchase with the gaming devs and community.
@ruouttaurmind It’s out for the switch, but that world is perfect for VR, totally immersive. The biggest down fall of the game on psvr (and psvr itself) are those move controllers you spoke about.
Black Friday PSA: Avoid the Vizio 4K 65" smart TV model D65-E0. I that model is featured at three or four retailers as a BF deal.
I grabbed it at Target on Sunday during their “extra 15% off” pre-BF sale (Normally $900, sale for $800, less 15% one day deal, less another 5% Red Card savings).
Overall feature set and performance was very, very disappointing. Picture was soft, color representation was horrible, but the sound was the worst part. Downfiring speakers, but I’m pretty sure the sound system is comprised of two tin cans and a string. Sure, this wasn’t a $2,000 Samsung OLED, but still… for just over $700 I expected more. I REALLY expected more from my first 4K experience. I fussed with the settings for a few hours trying to coax a less disappointing result but finally packed it up and carted it back to the store.
@seraphimcaduto This. I have been a longtime visitor to rtings and this was my first source for info on that Vizio. I still regret not grabbing the Vizio D65u-D2 they rated so highly for gaming in 2016. Target had it as a refurb for $700 early this year but I couldn’t swing that back then.
I read somewhere that Target (or Best Buy) is gonna have a sale on iPads, so I’ll see if that comes true. I have a new iPad that I like a lot, thinking of giving it to my mom for her birthday and getting myself an iPad Pro.
@UncleVinny I bought an iPad Pro 12.9 last October (stolen, then replaced). I really enjoy it. Before this I had an iPad Air for a short time, but I really appreciate the larger display. Particularly with the recent onset of age induced farsightedness.
@ConAndLibrarian i got greedy and tried to go over $40 to get the extra $10 off… now all i can get is
Something’s not right. Please try again in a few minutes, or reach out through g.co/ExpressHelp. (276)
For a website designed and operated by a company that really only does things on the internet, it is a frustrating pile of shit as far as usability.
I think I’ve just decided i don’t need a Google home mini. I can’t even get to the checkout if i delete everything out of my cart and start from scratch with just it. I’ve been trying different things for about an hour and a half now, which means I’ve easily wasted more than the price of said Google home in my time.
@mflassy at first the issue was that my additional item was not stocked locally, and the site told me that at the end of checkout. Now i can’t even get back to checkout, removing items from the cart, starting from scratch in incognito mode, nothing works.
They sold out of chalk at the last confirmation stage of my order, but I was able to get a charcoal one in the cart and ordered before they also sold out. I had a $20 Chromecast in the cart at first too to get over the free shipping bump but it sold out as well.
No free delivery, but far less hassle than Google’s site and I should actually get it. And on the plus side, I should get to experience the new Walmart pickup monolith I saw in the store the other day.
@djslack I used the pick-up monolith right about the first day it was working. The employees wandered around looking confused. Hopefully it’s better by now. And both colors are showing in stock. Let’s see how many of them are really available.
Anyone order the Google Home Mini and have an issue claiming the $25 to Walmart?
It says to claim it in the Home app but there is nothing under “offers” to claim other than a $20 Chromecast and a $29 Home Mini…no $25 to Walmart.
My Google Express and Walmart accounts are linked.
@Ignorant I wasn’t in the market for this but I was in walmart yesterday when the in store chaos started. They had a bunch of these in the store. Maybe talk with a store?
@jbartus Yes, do you know what the M in RAM stands for? Have you had a little of the spiced rum tonight? I was going to get some, but the ATM Machine was out of money.
@therealjrn I think @sammydog01 was referring to themself in that regard. I.E. many people would disagree about them not being able to be dickish if they tried? IDK
@narfcake I am familiar with the concept. I just can’t imagine someone doing something so monumentally stupid, especially given all of the safety mechanisms in place on equipment these days.
Edit: strike that, I can imagine it, and the truck looks old so… meh
@moonhat So I ordered one from Target because I wasn’t sure I’d get the Kohl’s deal before it sold out. Of course, I got the Kohl’s deal so was planning on returning the other back to Target. When I got to my brother in law’s for Thanksgiving I was telling him about this. He goes out into the garage and comes in with a box. “Merry Chrismakah!” He got one for me.
Now I have to return one to Target and one to Kohl’s, but I got the best deal!
@thismyusername I have a hard time justifying that smaller one considering you cant use the full pot in the first place. Even as a single dude the 6qt seems small for some things.
@sligett I dont know on that. However I know when I first saw the device I thought it was chinese crap. However this current model is built like a tank. I have done about 5 things in it so far and I am very happy with it. I compared it to some of the other brands stuff and this one is built much better. That stainless steel pot had me sold as everything else has that non stick crap that starts flaking after a year.
@moondrake I followed @oldcatlady’s link and it showed me the credits I had for three boxes I had purchased- two were expired and I used up the third one before I forgot. I just clicked and it gave me a list of stuff the credit was good for and automatically applied it.
@OldCatLady@moondrake My sample box shipped today. I was able to use the credit and picked an item with a $1 digital credit for slower shipping. Now I am off to spend that credit. I think this is a racket to take all my money.
I’ve been trying to checkout at the LEGO site for over an hour now & can’t get past the address verification screen … keep getting an error/loss of connection/please try again message.
Woot is having Woot-offs on shirt, wine, and holiday. I’m getting a ton of weird error messages though. Maybe they’re clearing out the wine before they shut down.
@sammydog01 can you explain to me how the woot-offs work? I’m not that familiar with woot, trying to get around their site seems confusing to me for some reason. And I’d love to win one of those BOC’s and have no idea how!
@moonhat a Woot-Off is a special sale on Woot. Each day Woot features one item for sale per category. Once it sells out, it’s done and you have to wait for the next day. During a Woot-Off when an item sells out a new item is featured in its place. This repeats until they run out of items queued up to feature.
@moonhat The Woot system is different now- they sell tons of stuff every day, but @jbartus is correct about the Woot-off. Today it is in the shirt, wine, and holiday categories.
The holiday page is where the BOCs occasionally pop up between other items right now.
Woot uses Twitter (look for Woot-off). That is the simplest place to get crap- every new item shows up. Make sure you’re logged in on Woot all the time and click on the twitter link.
Or go to @lichme’s site- it was messed up earlier but looks fine now. http://wootstalker.com/ There is an alarm when crap pops up- click on the photo.
There are other tricks- let me know if you want more.
@moonhat Yes. Be logged in at 10pm PST.
Open Wootstalker.com in another window.
Open Tweetdeck with woot-off! followed.
When Woot rolls over find out which tab has a woot-off. It should be either Holiday or the main site.
Get on that tab- the item has a % left. Be alert close to each item rollover.
You now have options-
1.Leave Wootstalker.com open. If it is working properly it should bring up the new item automatically. It it’s crap an audible alarm should sound. Click on “I want one”. That brings you to the checkout page- work fast. You need to be logged in first for it to work.
2.Wootstalker was too slow yesterday. Twitter was the way to go. Tweetdeck was popping up the item before anything else. Click on the URL and check out fast. Again you need to re-log yourself in before the product rolls over.
3.Items usually go up on the community page before the main page thanks to wootstalker- when a rollover is close refresh the community page and click on the item photo to get to the checkout page.
Good luck. FYI the 11pm EST crap yesterday was up for minutes. The most zealous wooters have crap already and can’t buy for 10 days so it should get progressively easier.
You may get put into the vestibule of patience- just wait it out, you may get lucky and still score. It’s where the masses go when the site gets slammed.
I do not participate in even the online stuff much. It’s always so much searching for something nonspecific to buy, which isn’t how I like to operate, and then when you do find a genuinely compelling thing, it’s sold out.
Besides just Tv’s, you have to be very smart about BF shopping. Most of the deals are hardly deals. They are inferior products designed just for BF. Check out reviews ahead of time. If you can’t find any, chances are it’s a BF special. Use the TGI Black Friday app to look for deals and to create a list. If you do buy anything on impulse, save your receipt. When you get home, do your research and see if it was a good deal. If not, bring it back.
@sammydog01 Gone dragon. I wanted it, too. Oh well, I got a Tryptophan Crap just now, maybe it’ll be in there. (Thanks, WootStalker!) Something weird is going on with the universe today: I had to go to WMT for an essential item, so I clenched my teeth and went. Roads empty. Got a parking space, first in the row. Went in, got a few other things, no checkout line. No crowds. Plenty of stock. Got home, found one item was damaged, hurried back- got another parking space, first in another row. Exchanged item, no wait, no hassle. On the way home I bought some lottery tickets, just in case.
Only Black Friday deal I partook in today was at Target.com. 50% off puzzles. Although I’m not a huge fan of the supposed gold standard brand Ravensburger, I did get four of their 500pc large piece puzzles for $8-$9 each.
@sammydog01 Amz is where I usually get them. I have a couple dozen on a wish list, and every time I place an order I check for price anomalies. Sometimes the 300 large piece puzzles dip to $6 or $7, and I’ll add to my order, but unless they’re price matching, they stick closer to $10.
I prefer Buffalo Games large piece puzzles, and they’re usually a few bucks less than Ravensburger. I try to avoid regular or small pieces because I can build the larger without glasses. Don’t let anyone lie to ya, getting old sucks.
@ruouttaurmind I stayed away from Target yesterday because the main thing I buy there on sale are board games. I dropped about $250 on board games at BGG con so I am quitting cold turkey for a while. Got some great games at some great prices, but it’s going to take us a long time to work through all these new games.
@moondrake I already have at least a dozen puzzles still unopened from various deals throughout the year. Now four more on the way from Target. I guess I need to take your lead and ease off for a while. I’m still trying to find the motivation to crack open the 2500 piece giant I received as a gift last year. That one alone will likely take at least a month to complete, so I’m sure I’m well equipped for the next year.
So many dot coms offering free shipping, no minimum purchase this season has been painful for my budget…
@f00l It was basically impossible to play puzzle when the ex and her kids were living here. They always wanted to help, but somehow their little fingers have a way of evaporating pieces into wherever socks go in the dryer.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@ruouttaurmind@f00l
With puzzles, I either start and finish one with someone, or I do my own. I would hate to be working on a giant puzzle and then someone randomly starts to work on it for me. I’d rather grab another puzzle for us both to work on.
Not that I have people that come over that would be interested anyway…
@f00l If you are bored and need a jigsaw puzzle, just go to just about any clinic that offers chemo. For reasons unknown there appears to be a belief that we all want to pass the time doing jigsaw puzzles - in the waiting room that is. I am tempted to sit there with small pair of scissors and “adjust” the shape of some of them to make a more pleasing shape. Perhaps the application of a sharpie would help too…and pocketing a sacrificial piece - you know a corner piece. That would be satisfying. You will need to wear a sweater though as most of those places are actually a part of the world wide secret cancer patient refrigeration project.
@ruouttaurmind I just got a cool idea for a non-traditional puzzle. Take a plain paint by number image with the pieces numbered for color and cut it up into It’s component parts. So first you paint all the individual pieces, then you assemble them into the image. You could make it even more challenging by including 6 images, one of which is which your puzzle. You could include a sealed envelope saying which one it is for people who don’t want to have to work that hard.
@moondrake A few years ago I received a mystery puzzle as a gift. The box featured pictures of 10 possible designs, all of similar images and colors, but you didn’t know which one you were building until the puzzle was well under way. Thankfully it was only a 300pc puzzle or it would have been too maddening.
I got a Spyder down winter jacket for $54 via the 75% off code GBGWINTER75. We’re not entirely sure it wasn’t a mistake/will get cancelled, but was worth a shot for a warm coat.
Steam has their Autumn sale, Microsoft has tons of deals on games for their systems (360 & Xbox One), No Starch has 50% off all ebooks, and Packt Pub has tons of their ebooks and videos for $10 each, with bundles getting even cheaper than that.
Got the 3 and 4 year old giant plastic toy trucks for outdoor use (they tend to play outside with say, with bricks, drag sledge hammers around the yard by a rope, make rock piles… so now they can fill up the trucks). They will be thrilled. Got the 18 month old a talking purse. Comes with a ton of things to put in there. As she loves to stuff things into purses, generally any adult purse left within her reach, she will be thrilled. Got all 3 books as well. Walmart. And in this small town it wasn’t even the kind of chaos you see in big cities. In fact some stuff was still left over this afternoon. That would have not been the case where I lived before.
I am waiting for buy a xbox play station and also many gadgets.Actually i heard about black friday from my friend. I didn’t get all. Cananyone describe more? may this will help to buy me a xbox play station.
Even though I can’t afford it, I’m hoping to find an insane deal on a new DSLR.
@woodhouse I’d really like to find a killer deal on a Canon 5D Mark III.
@jbartus I have a super old Canon Rebel XS that can’t shoot video, so I’m relegated to using my phone for video.
@woodhouse I have an XTi so… yeah
What timezone you in? Black Friday is on Friday.
@medz Oops, I guess I’m in my own time zone. Some of the online BF sales start tomorrow, so that’s what I meant. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Where I work doesn’t even open early on black Friday. Thank god.
@RiotDemon @OldCatLady

@narfcake Snork! It’s been a few years since I went looting and pillaging on Black Friday.
@OldCatLady I won’t shop on Thanksgiving. Stores should be closed.
I may not go out on Friday either. Too crazy & I like online shopping anyway.
@daveinwarsh @OldCatLady Ditto. I also won’t go to stores that open on Thanksgiving for any holiday shopping, and I tell them so. Last year I even sent letters to Walmart, Target, and some others letting them know how much I spent elsewhere.

@duodec some people love earning holiday pay
@OldCatLady
Walmart staying open annoys me. They could at least close 6am-6pm, for the sake of the employees.
Hospitals and gas stations are the sorts of places that should stay open.
Not normal retailers.
I also won’t shop on Thanksgiving. And prob not all weekend. If I do, it will be online.
@RiotDemon Every year I say the same thing: People don’t like spending time with their family and would rather go out shopping. I also say: There’s nothing good on tv. The first statement just seems truer every year.

They typically include their color calibration settings. From my personal experience, calibration with a colorimeter is unique to each panel but this might get you a little bit closer.

@mtb002 no problem glad it was helpful.

No kidding. Just don’t care.
Morningsave has a section called Black Friday Deals.

@sammydog01 Free Shipping!
No…No…No… I don’t leave the house on that day. Too many humanoids about. My hate of people would be on Red Alert.

I got my Google Home Mini for $29 with a $25 coupon to Walmart earlier. I have been waiting for this deal for a while, so glad I did not actually have to go to the store.
@ConAndLibrarian
I’ve never ordered through Google Express, so I get another $10 off.
I don’t shop at Walmart, though I suppose I could make an exception…

And today they’re sold out of the mini.
@djslack Keep trying. I just got in after being told it was sold out earlier.
on loading the Google home mini page. Blank page plus this.
I’m sure it’s a busy site right now, but it’s really not been a great showing on Google’s part so far.

@djslack I just bought one through the link on this page:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2017/11/22/best-black-friday-2017-ads-deals-amazon-apple-best-buy-target-and-walmart-sales/#2d7cf13f3949
(If I post the direct link it shows where I live and I don’t want you people to know where I live)
@sammydog01 That one worked! Thanks!
@sammydog01 I have a dot in the living room, I’m going to try out the mini in the Bedroom.
@ConAndLibrarian It’s like having two girlfriends- keep them apart.
@djslack I used the pick-up monolith right about the first day it was working. The employees wandered around looking confused. Hopefully it’s better by now. And both colors are showing in stock. Let’s see how many of them are really available.
@djslack I padded the mini with a Fire TV stick and was able to use the 20% off first purchase offer plus free shipping.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Ignorant I wasn’t in the market for this but I was in walmart yesterday when the in store chaos started. They had a bunch of these in the store. Maybe talk with a store?

@lordbowen
lol
@therealjrn @lordbowen
Despite the repetition, at least it comes with 4 KB of RAM…
@mflassy Does it have a NIC Card?
@therealjrn Did you know, the C in NIC stands for card?
@jbartus Yes, do you know what the M in RAM stands for? Have you had a little of the spiced rum tonight? I was going to get some, but the ATM Machine was out of money.
@therealjrn RAID disks in a PC computer.

/image redundant department of redundancy
@therealjrn I had a little of the spiced rum tonight but it didn’t make me into a dick. At least I think it didn’t. (And it was pumpkin spiced too.)
@sammydog01 Pshaw, you are always so nice, you couldn’t be dickish if you tried.
Did my answer appear dickish? I suppose I could throw in a few emotion icons to dispell that impression, appearance or optic.
@therealjrn Many people would disagree. But I wasn’t referring to you.

@therealjrn I think I was accused of being a dick, which was about as far from my intent as can be but apparently some people felt otherwise.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Given the star on my post I’m assuming you didn’t take it that way.
I apparently also overlooked the ‘RAM Memory’ repetition in the quote by @mflassy having picked up on the 4KB part. Oops.
Someone really phoned it in on the specs there. Pretty sure the i5 and i7 would be quad cores,
@jbartus Ha. I’m still worried about the “Many people would disagree” part. lol
Not really. But I did, despite all the compliments receive a few queer looks in my direction as I sported my Thanksgiving Bird shirt about town today.
@therealjrn I think @sammydog01 was referring to themself in that regard. I.E. many people would disagree about them not being able to be dickish if they tried? IDK
This one?

@jbartus That’s the one! Blame
the goat@acraigl@therealjrn

/giphy i’m a dick
@therealjrn I love that. A great coarse-humor juxtaposition of the childish innocence of the hand-turkey with the most famous of birds.
Sadly I’d never have the balls to wear it in public for fear of offending someone.
@sammydog01 I wonder what caused those to implode like that… o.o
@jbartus I’ve worn Foamy the Squirrel and Careless Whiskers out in public before.
/image Foamy the Squirrel Fingers

/image Threadless Careless Whiskers
As for the implosion, vacuum (pumping) the contents out without a proper vent can cause that.
@narfcake I am familiar with the concept. I just can’t imagine someone doing something so monumentally stupid, especially given all of the safety mechanisms in place on equipment these days.
Edit: strike that, I can imagine it, and the truck looks old so… meh
@jbartus

I ordered an instant pot pressure cooker thingy from Target for $80.
@DaveInSoCal SweeeeeeeeT Instapot
@DaveInSoCal Not sure which one you got, but there is a 5qt one at Walmart for $49.
@ConAndLibrarian I got the Instant Pot DUO60.
@DaveInSoCal
Just gave one if these to my youngest nephew and his GF as a housewarming.
They like.
@DaveInSoCal $67 on amazon right now.
@DaveInSoCal i love mine tooooooo

/giphy love my IP
@moonhat So I ordered one from Target because I wasn’t sure I’d get the Kohl’s deal before it sold out. Of course, I got the Kohl’s deal so was planning on returning the other back to Target. When I got to my brother in law’s for Thanksgiving I was telling him about this. He goes out into the garage and comes in with a box. “Merry Chrismakah!” He got one for me.
Now I have to return one to Target and one to Kohl’s, but I got the best deal!
@DaveInSoCal hooray for early Christmas gifts!
I ordered the 8 quart one from Amazon for $81.99
@DaveInSoCal
If you ask around, one of your friends might wanna buy one of the extras off you.
Instant Pot DUO60 is on sale on Amazon for $67
Had mine for a month and it is seriously murdering my diet.
@darkzrobe the mini (3qt vs 6qt) is $49 for reduced diet murdering.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y1YD5W7
@darkzrobe I’m thinking those thirty-nine thousand reviews are probably all fake.
@sligett Mine isn’t fake. I love the thing. There’s a thread here somewhere about InstantPot, recipes, things you can do etc.
@OldCatLady Looks like people agreed with you- sold out.
@darkzrobe
make up your mind dude.
@thismyusername No
Because I like cute stuff.
https://www.teeturtle.com/collections/doorbusters
@narfcake I almost bought the unicorn with the chain saw. If only I hadn’t just bought two here…
@sammydog01 I bought some shirts. And a bunch of plushie products. Here’s hoping for at least a few more random purple minis.
Hey costco has $100 google play cards for $82. Cheap way to keep your music and youtube advertisement free for a year.
It’s a BOGO, sort of. Amazon Prime sample packs. I ordered the coffee.
@OldCatLady Hmm… don’t the Amz samplers always work that way?
@ruouttaurmind I’ve never tried them before.
@OldCatLady Ya, I’m pretty sure they always include an equal credit towards a future purchase in whichever category the box represents.
@ruouttaurmind I bought a couple last year and couldn’t figure out how the credit worked. Lol. Too lazy to just call Amazon and ask.
Ahhh, dog treat sample box? I’m in. Got two different dog treat samplers and the Aveeno kit.
@moondrake I followed @oldcatlady’s link and it showed me the credits I had for three boxes I had purchased- two were expired and I used up the third one before I forgot. I just clicked and it gave me a list of stuff the credit was good for and automatically applied it.
@sammydog01 Yeah, I just saw my expired credits when I followed the link. Gonna have to stay on top of it this time.
@OldCatLady @moondrake My sample box shipped today. I was able to use the credit and picked an item with a $1 digital credit for slower shipping. Now I am off to spend that credit. I think this is a racket to take all my money.
Go spend yours, if you got a shipping notice. ☻
@speediedelivery Good advice but I’m going to wait and see which treats the dogs like best.
The Croc website has minion crocs on sale. MINIONS! I shouldn’t drink on Black Friday.
http://www.crocs.com/p/classic-minions-clog/204373.html?cgid=women-footwear-clogs&cid=90H#&origin=category&srule=CatPosition-SearchPlacement-Revenue7day%2FSKUCoverage&start=53&sz=36&prefn1=variationSize&prefv1=&prefn2=refinementColor&prefv2=&prefn3=fitGuideFit&prefv3=
I’ve been trying to checkout at the LEGO site for over an hour now & can’t get past the address verification screen … keep getting an error/loss of connection/please try again message.
@scfd0766 Leggo my Legos!
@scfd0766 What did you buy? I love Legos.
@sammydog01 Gaaaah! Legos are the #1 cause of foot injuries for parents.
@ruouttaurmind

https://shirt.woot.com/offers/watch-your-step?ref=meh_com
@jbartus Like a mehvalanche?
@therealjrn sure, why not?
@moonhat And don’t forget they start again at 1AM EST on Cyber Monday.
@sammydog01 yes I need tips. Pretty please. So I should hang out on woot Sunday night at 10pm PST?
Don’t forget to sleep. It’s just crap after all.
@sammydog01
Wow thanks.
Word from the pros.
@sammydog01 hey, I got a BOC on the 20th, I’m super excited to get it! Thanks for the tips!
@moonhat Congrats! I hope you get some nice things.
@sammydog01
Some inquiring minds wanted to knows how your son reacted to your Nintendo Switch prank.
DRAGON!
https://www.woot.com/category/sellout?ref=w_gh_so_10
@sammydog01 Gone dragon.
@OldCatLady I guess the fatalities scared people away.
@OldCatLady Good luck on the lottery!
Only Black Friday deal I partook in today was at Target.com. 50% off puzzles. Although I’m not a huge fan of the supposed gold standard brand Ravensburger, I did get four of their 500pc large piece puzzles for $8-$9 each.
@ruouttaurmind I love Ravensburger puzzles. But Amazon has them cheap at times.
@ruouttaurmind
If someone invites me over and has jigsaw puzzles out, I will be a very low maintenance guest.
Just bring me drink and food and leave me alone.
And, if you value your lives,
STAY AWAY FROM THE PUZZLE!
I’m like a rat terrier with a tennis ball. Don’t even think about it.
If someone wants to participate, I do try to be nice and welcoming and friendly and cooperative, and try hard not get violent or anything.
/giphy jigsaw puzzle

@f00l It was basically impossible to play puzzle when the ex and her kids were living here. They always wanted to help, but somehow their little fingers have a way of evaporating pieces into wherever socks go in the dryer.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@ruouttaurmind @f00l
@RiotDemon You know you have a poltergeist when you live alone and your puzzles finish without you.
@moondrake How many colors?
I got a Spyder down winter jacket for $54 via the 75% off code GBGWINTER75. We’re not entirely sure it wasn’t a mistake/will get cancelled, but was worth a shot for a warm coat.
@meh
At what site?
Nevermind.
Spyder.com
@f00l it was shut down right after i posted and some people are reporting cancellations…mine not cancelled yet, fingers crossed but breath not held
@eftadi
Try Slickdeals.net. They have decent apps.
Set up an alert.
@f00l I could be wrong but I think this guy is our newest resident troll.
@sammydog01
Thx
Skimmed. Did not read for “tone”.
As a joke, it’s not a terrible one.
