Usually I would say a Sees or Whitman assortment as long as no one mixes them up and screws up the map when you think you are getting one of those butter toffee ones but it ends up being an orange cream that makes you gag.
However, there is an artisan chocolate shop in Dallas, Dude Sweet Chocolate, that sells anatomically correct chocolate hearts for valentine’s day.
I prefer my box of chocolates somewhat deconstructed:
Peeps, cinnamon hearts (those are my favorites), peanut butter, jelly bellies, etc. chased with good or at least decent chocolate (Dove is okay and always available; Hershey’s will do in a pinch, but not kisses), alternating dark and milk. Served with strong coffee, with or without heavy cream.
Those little heart-shaped bits of chalk.
Sour cherry red sugary spheres
Reese’s are my kryptonite.
Dark chocolate truffles. Yummm.
@cbl_wv That’s what I was just going to say.
@melonscoop Yup.
Chocolate covered strawberries
Assorted chocolates in a box
Strawberries dipped in dark chocolate.
Reeses is winning?? How boring, you can have Reeses anytime. Valentine’s Day is for fancy boxes of assorted filled chocolates, like Godiva.
Go to Aldi’s and buy the German chocolate bars…
A heart.
The Cadbury Eggs. The search for the early sales are worth the reward.
Chocolate caramels or dark chocolate mints.
Stroopwafels?
Kinda hoping we’ll see them in this mehrathon…

@ironcheftoni When you said ‘anatomically correct’, hearts was NOT what I was thinking.
@ironcheftoni There’s a huge world of difference between a box of See’s and a box of Whitman’s.
@ironcheftoni
But . . .
@ciabelle true… it’s all about availability. Currently our local See’s store has remained closed
Jelly Belly strawberry beaded hearts.
The one’s that come from the love of my life, my guy Johnny!!
Lindor super dark truffles in the black wrapper
Cinnamon hearts.
@Salanth Now I want these, damnit. And I’m worried the Instacart shopper won’t get soft ones, but Ima ask.
@joelmw Heh, I prefer the hard crunchy ones. Good luck on getting them!
