Coffee. No, I’m serious. Mint and the like are really good, and there are several other good options, but the Whataburger coffee shake was one of the best milkshakes I’ve ever had (reliably, across most of Texas - they introduced it during a road trip). My family got like forty of them in a week and a half. I’m pretty sure it’s literally just a vanilla shake with a standard coffee poured in, but they won’t make them anymore.

@chuckf1@cinoclav We have a place called Cook Out that does an insane number of shake flavors. In the summer they have a fresh watermelon shake. It’s pretty good.
@Fuzzalini I love an Oreo concrete (or whatever they may be called in your part of the country), but in shake form, I find myself continually being thwarted by small bits of Oreo becoming lodged in the straw.
Wife likes jamocha shakes from Arby’s. I like all strawberry and chocolate equally but had an orange dream shake (like an orange creamsicle) once at a mom and pop restaurant that was amazing.
Vanilla is the best first flavor in a brand, since all the other flavors start with the vanilla base. If you don’t think the vanilla is any good, then the other flavors will probably suck too.
I first read the title of this thread as: “Best snake flavor” - and while that seemed a bit odd, It was not particularly odd for meh. I vaguely wondered whether the item for the day might be Gummy Snakes, which would also not be odd for meh. When I finally looked at the item of the day, I said: "Oh, shake flavor! That was both more logical and less interesting. As for snake flavors, I definitely prefer “garden” over “rattle” in general, though I’ve never eaten any garden snakes.
Avocado!!

Shamrock
@katbyter Came here to say this.
In the (seasonal) absence of the former, the banana shake from Checkers is delicious, as is Cook Out’s Orange Push-Up shake!
@katbyter @PooltoyWolf Does the orange one taste like a Creamsicle?
@katbyter @Kyeh As its name implies, it literally tastes like an orange Push-Up!
@katbyter @PooltoyWolf Well, I had to look them up because I’ve never had one, but it sounds a lot like a Creamsicle - I love those.
@katbyter @Kyeh They are delicious!

Banana and peanut butter with fudge a swirl.
Strawberry, banana, or another fruit, to dissuade the guilt of drinking a shake.
Chocolate malt for me, please. (With [gasp] dairy protein.)
Chocolate peanut butter cup, blended with a frozen banana
A vanilla malt, heavy on the malt. Otherwise Chick Filet’s fresh peach shake.
Strawberry pineapple
But it’s gotta have chunks of real fruit…

@cinoclav Whoa!
@chuckf1 @cinoclav We have a place called Cook Out that does an insane number of shake flavors. In the summer they have a fresh watermelon shake. It’s pretty good.
@cinoclav Okay, yes - I’m jealous!
Irish potato, though??
@Kyeh I assume it’s a cinnamon flavor.
@cinoclav Odd - if there are some sort of cinnamon potatoes, I haven’t had them!
@Kyeh It’s a Philly thing.

@cinoclav Oh, okay! Those sound really good, actually. I love coconut.
@Kyeh They’re amazing!
Oreo.
@Fuzzalini I love an Oreo concrete (or whatever they may be called in your part of the country), but in shake form, I find myself continually being thwarted by small bits of Oreo becoming lodged in the straw.
@DrWorm Yeah, true. I generally prefer a McFlurry. Had one last night as a matter of fact.
@DrWorm @Fuzzalini Did you ever get one of the stroopwafel McFlurries from a couple of years ago? They were the best.

Coffee shake made with chocolate ice cream. I guess you could call it Mocha but no one advertises it that way.

Sonic has a Coconut Cream Pie shake I’m pretty fond of.
Steak N Shake has offered a Speculoos (Dutch Windmill Cookie) shake that is fantastic.
How could I forget this one
Even a place like chicago has to have some great things about it (and you can get these in the suburbs so don’t have to travel into the city)
