@shahnm Ahh but some food needs refrigerated… just saying. And you don’t know what they sneak when you aren’t looking and then blame someone else in your household that it is gone.
I’ve tried in the past at the advice of my psychiatrist but I can’t just simply limit my gourd obsession to just a single season, much less a single meal per day. For that matter who just limits them to meals, they are great decorations and also are a great makeshift maraca once they dry out. And who doesn’t love a good snuggle with a gourd on a lonely night!
I love all the Christmas goodies made usually only that time of year but fresh from the vine strawberries, blackberries, watermelon, cucumbers. and the ultimate treat, tomatoes, still warm from the sun have no equal.
I hate everything about summer except the food. Fresh berries from local farms rather than Driscoll’s are just about my favorite food. I love going to the farmer’s markets around here and coming home with a bagful of fresh, in-season produce.
If someone cut up fresh fruit for me everyday I’d be in heaven. And the kinda they have at tropical resorts or what the fruit man @weboh sent me don’t even get me started. But for me cooking wise I’m really good at cooking winter comfort meals.
@Luv2shop4Deals Yes and no. There’s always something in season here, and I’m always happy to share some. I just don’t always have the time to ship them out. I did just harvest some gourds…
If anyone ever wants a FIRK for themselves, DM me and we’ll see what happens. We can do a trade: A box of random foodstuffs for a box of random fruit. @Star2236 set the bar high with that, with so much tasty Italian food that I still haven’t finished. @speediedelivery sent me temperate fruit, and that was fabulous too. I’m sure I’ll like most of whatever I end up getting, and hopefully y’all will like most of whatever you end up getting, too.
Maybe if enough people take me up on it, someone from Mediocre will take notice and send me a real IRK in exchange for fruit.
Hey sorry for the late reply
I’m out of town(family stuff) but should be back in about 2 weeks. I will message you then to see if you still wanna do it.

You’re supposed to divide foods by season? Next you will tell me to divide foods by time of day.

Mmm, soups and gourds.
All of them.
Spring ramps and peas, asparagus and radishes.
Late summer/early fall when it’s still warm enough to grill and you can also get the “good corn” and some early fall fruits and veggies.

Personally, I prefer to eat seasonings rather than seasons.
