I just assume breath of the wild is better cause reviews. My Mario days are Super Mario 2 and 3 on NES. No saves you best have a whole Saturday to crack that cause parents were gone
@Limewater oh no we found them and used them. But still. It was a significant time sink to beat world 8. At least that’s how I remember it lol. We weren’t doing speed runs cause… Kids
@lucretius Do it. I finally got one last year (when they were out of stock everywhere and I had to stalk in stock alert sites to snag one).
I bought BOTW, but it’s really not my gaming style. So I ended up giving it to my son, he seems to enjoy it.
I just got Mario Rabbids. It’s okay, not quite a typical Mario game, never played the Rabbids game before. But it was $10 for a physical copy, so why not. Animal Crossing is probably my most played game. Although I just got Lego Harry Potter (I played it years before on the PS3) so I’ve been playing through that again.
@remo28 Thanks for the suggestions! Mario Rabbids is definitely another one that I’m interested in - I’ve never played a Rabbids game but the turn-based tactical/puzzly thing is right up my alley. I have a 9 year old so I expect even if I get a Switch, it will be less ‘my switch’ and more ‘our switch’
Tetris
Mario, obviously…but Metroid is right up there.
Huh?
I voted mario, but everyone here owes Metroid a serious go at it.
Pikmin? Turok? Golden Eye? Okay, that wasn’t a series. I don’t know any games for the whee, though. I’ve been… out of the game for a while.
@fuzzmanmatt Goldeneye had Perfect Dark. So it’s a two-game series.
/image I’ll allow it.
Wii Three Kings? (Pretty popular when I was but a sprite.)
@Ignorant Freakin capitalist tanuki. I’m still into him for millions. Least there’s no vig.
@Ignorant @stinks I can loan you a few bells. I’m loaded.

@unksol Sounds like somebody never found the warp jars or whistles.

We were also playing Atarii so. Lol
Dragon Quest
Mario may be the most beloved, but it’s Zelda that makes me desperately want to give in and buy a switch already.

Mother (otherwise known as Earthbound here in the USA)
The Ninja Gaiden, Battle Toads, Double Dragon… Mario is good, but from the 64 on I couldn’t really play any of them.
I’m not really a hardcore fan of anything.
…except Zelda. Man, I love Zelda.
