@blaineg
Oh! I’ve never watched that.
The SCI channel shows are interesting because, in spite of being heavily sensationalized
and dragged out with dubious speculation from “experts,”
they are based on facts.
@shahnm I like The Walking Dead/Fear The Walking Dead and have watched them since the beginning. But my wife doesn’t care for them, so I record them and binge when she isn’t around. Kind of makes it feel like a “guilty pleasure” I guess.
Anything reality! I’m addicted to reality TV, cooking, murder/Dateline, housewives, home decor/remodeling, survival/Naked and Afraid, Autopsy and the list goes on. Like I said, ANYTHING REALITY!
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show but the audio is muted and you and a friend are really stoned and ad-libbing the lines and competing to see who can do the worse impression of Captain Lou Albano.
I will watch the most ridiculous trash tv I can find. I watched a show the other day called “is this cake” wherein people were shown a bunch of realistic looking things that were not cake shaped, biscuits, tacos, a hammer, etc, and they had to find the one that was actually cake masquerading as other objects. I mean… it was actually pretty cool.
How it’s Made?
@yakkoTDI
Yes that’s a good one!
Any Mike Rowe show about jobs.
@hchavers There was a Timcast IRL episode in the last month with Mike Rowe as guest. It was an excellent show.
Top gear.
#1. Travel shows. The ones that make me think: “Wish I were there – but it probably will never happen”.
Shows on the so-called Science channel, like “Mysteries of the Abandoned” and “Forbidden History.”
@Kyeh
Earths greatest mysteries is another good one that’s similar to those but I think it’s on either National Geographic or Discovery.
@Lynnerizer Yeah, those are better so there’s less guilt in watching them! I also like the Weather Channel’s “Strangest Weather on Earth.”
@Kyeh Aliens?
@blaineg Huh?
@Kyeh My mistake, it’s the history Channel.
The Centauri from Babylon 5 are obviously where the “It was aliens” guy’s hairdo came from.
@blaineg
Oh! I’ve never watched that.

@blaineg @Kyeh
Yeah, “facts” like “We don’t know what caused this event, so it could be aliens. We can’t rule that out.”
@Kyeh @mike808 It also could have been Garfield.
@Kyeh
Agree! Yeah, strangest weather is good too!
I was going to say food shows, but then I remembered I don’t cook but I do shop, so I’d have to say shopping channels.
Sitcoms
Giphy/ sitcom
1940’s, 50’s Film Noir! Nothing like a good old fashioned
‘who dunnit’!
#2. Sports programs with a game including the team I hate the most, so I can root for seeing them stomped. (Yes, guilty of that.)
Zombie apocalypse shows…
@shahnm I like The Walking Dead/Fear The Walking Dead and have watched them since the beginning. But my wife doesn’t care for them, so I record them and binge when she isn’t around. Kind of makes it feel like a “guilty pleasure” I guess.
Anime & cartoons.
Archer, Futurama, GTO, Cowboy Bebop…
Also, I’ve always loved MST3K, a guilty pleasure mocking guilty pleasures, the ultimate meta experience in guilty pleasures!
Going down the YouTube rabbit hole
@eddhernandez I like looking for more musical talent that I’ve never seen before. Especially The Voice auditions.
@eddhernandez If metal is more your style…
Anything reality! I’m addicted to reality TV, cooking, murder/Dateline, housewives, home decor/remodeling, survival/Naked and Afraid, Autopsy and the list goes on. Like I said, ANYTHING REALITY!
@Lynnerizer Oh, I also like “The Voice” and “American Idol,” but only the beginning auditions.
@Kyeh
Those are good ones too! I like going on YouTube and watching the best of… You know, where that stuff lives forever! Lol
Either Wipeout or Impractical Jokers
@sicc574
YES, both good ones!! Those guys are freaking hilarious on impractical jokers!
General hospital and lifetime movies, I know I’m so pathetic. Although lifetime movies are getting pretty stupid.
@Star2236 yes, it seems they dropping to the caliber of General Hospital.
Semi-reality shows like Swamp People. American Pickers, or Storage Wars.
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show but the audio is muted and you and a friend are really stoned and ad-libbing the lines and competing to see who can do the worse impression of Captain Lou Albano.
Anything with Josh Gates, he cracks me up! Especially “Josh Gates Tonight,” the talk show he started during the pandemic.
MSNBC
Old men love binge watching The Weather Channel and I don’t know why.
As always, porn
Biden bloopers.
@tweezak Jaded from years of Trump word salad?
Streaming series like Weeds, Shameless, OITNB suck me in every time.
