@Tadlem43 growing up, both grandparents had farms and grew the best watermelons, and other fruits and vegetables. When I moved away i was so sad i had to buy all of that instead of just visiting their house.
@Star2236, when it feels like the peel is completely detached from the fruit inside, it’s ripe.
They are hella easy to peel, and the best way I can describe them is that they taste fluffy.
I don’t like oranges, but sumo citrus is my favorite fruit.
@Tadlem43 I don’t like them, something in the flavor puts me off, but she grew up eating them and it’s still her favorite. I found them at Costco this December and they were big and beautiful. She was so pleased!
@hammi99@Weboh Tomatoes are fruit. So are cucumbers, wisteria, pinecones, and hot peppers. And possibly dog ticks, because they do swell up, burst, and produce (self-propelled) seedlings.
@hammi99 The botanical and food definitions of “fruit” are not identical. A tomato is a fruit botanically, but a vegetable for food classification purposes.
Blackberries, blueberries, raspberries (red and black), cherries (the sweeter ones), pineapple, sweet oranges and sweet apples, strawberries, peaches, pears, some grapes… that’s about it I think.
Pear
@omally especially Korean pears. Pricey but so worth it
Wine
Avocado.
Watermelon

Tomato.
@yakkoTDI the most versatile fruit
Paw-paw
In no particular order, in my personal opinion:
Black raspberries
Peaches
Strawberries
Mangoes
Honeycrisp (or equivalen) apples
Remember p, what is the Minions favorite fruit! Of course Bananas!
They are also good with natural peanut butter on whole bread!
@mycya4me Elvis, is that you?
@mycya4me Bananas also seem to pair amazingly well with other fruits. (Although I’ll admit I haven’t tried all possible combinations of fruits.)
@xobzoo The also make a great Hold Up weapon! hehehe
@hchavers Nope Elvis was NOT into healthy choices! Natural PB, 100% Whole Wheat. Nope that was NOT his Style!
Sumo citrus
@kittykat9180
I just bought that today (bc I read about it in a magazine) how do you know when it’s ready to eat? Should the peel be saggy or tight?

@kittykat9180
Thanks, I got ones that were really unripe. I guess better unripe than to ripe though.

Grapes
Peaches
(My mother would say persimmons)
@Kyeh I do like a good persimmon! We used to go pick them and eat them, but I haven’t found any persimmon trees here in Dallas yet. lol
@Tadlem43 I don’t like them, something in the flavor puts me off, but she grew up eating them and it’s still her favorite. I found them at Costco this December and they were big and beautiful. She was so pleased!
Strawberry shortcake.
I suspect that if I could try all the fruits that @Weboh introduced us to back in 2020, I might find a new favorite:

All of ‘em…
EXCEPT Durian.
@el1c1a Have you had fresh durian before, or are you just following the meme?
blueberries
Watermelon for sure. Unless it’s not considered a fruit . . . can’t keep up with fruit identities these days
@hammi99 If it has seeds, it’s a fruit.
@Weboh tomato?

All of them. But especially mangosteen.

@Weboh, I’ve never heard of that

Salad. Fruit salad is the best fruit because then I can have many fruits
IMHO, it’s a tie between nectarines and Bing cherries.
@macromeh I’ll take the cherries, preferably from a roadside fruit stand adjacent to the orchard where they were just picked.
Durian (had it 5 years ago in a small village in Malaysia with the family of a friend)
Fresh fruit cut up for me, I’ll eat it all. Not supposed to eat a bunch of citrus (or high acidic fruit) but fruit is my weakness.
I love FruitCakes
It’s Watermelon and you can’t change my mind

@Kidsandliz For a bit there I thought you were quoting Monty Python…
(fruit list at 1:16)
@xobzoo Oops I left pink grape fruit off my list.
