i like fries that are between mcdonalds fries and steak fries in size, and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. probably double fried. seems easy to make but hard to find. most of the time i ask to substitute something else for fries.
@jrwofuga@katbyter it is a potato wedge. one that has been deep fried and heavily seasoned. there was a restaurant there that used to also carry jojos stuff so i tried them on a whim. pretty good, esp considering they were delivered.
There’s a place in East Texas I stopped to pick up dinner one time. They offered something called a Texas twister so I got that instead of fries with my burger.
It’s like if you spiral shaved a whole potato then threw it in the fryer until it’s mostly like a chip but with some softer bits too, then seasoned it with Cajun seasoning. It came in two to go boxes on its own – the burger was housed separately. It was pretty ridiculous.
I don’t know if it was the best, but it was certainly different. Regular fries are pretty much a waste of space and calories in my book, so I’ll have almost anything else if I can.
