@jrwofuga@katbyter it is a potato wedge. one that has been deep fried and heavily seasoned. there was a restaurant there that used to also carry jojos stuff so i tried them on a whim. pretty good, esp considering they were delivered.
@jerk_nugget@katbyter Sounds like what we call down here a “tater boat” . . . best ones I ever had were from a local gas station that used to do them handmade.
I really felt like I belonged in this group until this survey. Seriously - Tots? What are you Napoleon Fuckin Dynamite? Seriously… Tots? WTF. OK millennial…
Maybe those professional potatoes prefer to be photographed from one side or the other, but the country potatoes around here are not fussy. I think they look good from either fried side.
i like fries that are between mcdonalds fries and steak fries in size, and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. probably double fried. seems easy to make but hard to find. most of the time i ask to substitute something else for fries.
There’s a place in East Texas I stopped to pick up dinner one time. They offered something called a Texas twister so I got that instead of fries with my burger.
It’s like if you spiral shaved a whole potato then threw it in the fryer until it’s mostly like a chip but with some softer bits too, then seasoned it with Cajun seasoning. It came in two to go boxes on its own – the burger was housed separately. It was pretty ridiculous.
I don’t know if it was the best, but it was certainly different. Regular fries are pretty much a waste of space and calories in my book, so I’ll have almost anything else if I can.
Yes.
Right
Fry all you want, but smashed potatoes are where it’s at.
Hashbrowns? Chips?
This is a trick question. The answer is “G. All the potatoes”
Jojo’s – broiled seasoned wedges
@katbyter I have to ask what a jo jo wedge is. . I’ve googled it, and it looks like potato wedges. What am I missing?

I clicked the wrong button.
Definitely crinkle cut fries. Steak fries right behind.
Why would you want starch with starch?
Hash browns all the way people!
Gnocchi, boiled then fried
@hchavers That sounds delicious
Panfried pierogies (with caramelized onions, served with sour cream)
It’s not fried but lately I’ve been loving that you can substitute a baked potato for fries at Wendy’s. Costs a little more but so worth it!
/giphy Are you gonna finish your tots
@ThatsHeadly Of course! They’re the best- followed by seasoned curly fries [ala Arby’s].
/giphy tater tots
@ThatsHeadly
Nori fries!!
@llangley that looks yummy. Or
/image poutine
@llangley @tinamarie1974 I was at a “strange Brewfest” this last weekend and one of the fun ones was the Poutine lager (fun, but not tasty)
@llangley @moonhat that sounds odd
Gotta have some bacon and onion in there…
And leave the peel on!
I really felt like I belonged in this group until this survey. Seriously - Tots? What are you Napoleon Fuckin Dynamite? Seriously… Tots? WTF. OK millennial…
@adwaller as a millennial that didn’t like Napoleon Dynamite and doesn’t really care about tots, I feel attacked.
@adwaller OK Boomer. Signed, not a millennial. Gosh!
Hashbrowns, fried with onion bits and a little garlic, redolent with butter…
but if I can’t have hash browns then Mother Clucker’s broasted potatoes will be just fine thanks!

@rockblossom Like I said above, Right side. Everyone knows the left is the weaker side…
@ybmuG Depends. With potatoes, it’s all about how the eyes look. Unlike corn, which depends on the size of the ears.
@rockblossom If the eyes look better from the left, you’re holding it upside down.

Country fried that my husband makes.
But here’s a nice recipe for roasted sweet potatoes (two versions, I like the seasoned one).
Super yummy.
Cajun Tots!
Whatever happened to steak fries? I love those, I don’t see many places serve those anymore.
@star2236
@star2236 Available in the frozen food section at most grocery stores; buy them, and either deep or air fry them, then enjoy
Pan fried pierogies here. This year we also did a variation where we put crumbled breakfast sausage, cheddar, and tater tots in as well.

Sweet potatoes are the most disgusting kind of… Whatever. They only get worse when you add sugar via marshmallows. How is this even possible?
Steak fries!
potato latkes!
I keep reading this topic as “Best friend of potato salad” as I scroll down the forum.
That is all.
@Ignorant oh and I think the answer would be brisket.
Now that is all.
@Ignorant I’m glad we go that sorted. Do you happen to know how to combat smart phone addition?
