I had an original wood NordicTrack that I liked a lot, but it took up a lot of room and was fairly noisy. It did feel a lot like cross country skiing, though.
@andyw Theoretically, those are the best. Full-body exercise, burns more calories than other machines. The problem is that you have to make yourself use them.
@ahacksaw Actually getting up and doing it is always the hard part. But I loved cross country skiing and the NordicTrack was fairly inviting. I love outdoor biking, but have to force myself to use the indoor bike, on which I do not get as much exercise.
@ahacksaw@andyw I still have my original NordicTrack (purchased over 30 years ago). I even use it occasionally when the weather is too nasty to do something outside. (And I still listen to the same David Byrne album - Rei Momo - while using it. It’s part of the ritual. )
I had an elliptical machine that I used everyday till my dad sprayed wd-40 bc it was squeaking a lot and then all the resistance was gone. He still used it for years after that though.
Your mom!
@yakkoTDI You volunteering to push her around for a nice walk in a wheelchair?
Or maybe give her a ride in a bicycle sidecar?
@yakkoTDI so… what are you saying?..
@yakkoTDI So, you’re into necromancy? Oh, wait, you already said as much.
@werehatrack That is just a removal/storage service I provide.
@Kyeh Sure thing. I am a distance rider so I ride slower and I am always open for some company.

Uh… sex?
@shahnm Be sure to give both hands equal time, you don’t want to lose symmetry.
@ircon96 Thank you! I always appreciate the guidance of those with extensive experience.
Whatever one you’ll actually use.

@katbyter This!!!
@katbyter @Kyeh Hey, i use mine, it makes a great clothes dryer!
@ircon96 @katbyter
Mine held purses and tote bags very nicely.
@katbyter @Kyeh Talk about a multitasker, huh? Alton would approve!
@ircon96 @katbyter Oh, and my late husband’s punching bag makes a fine hat stand.
@katbyter @Kyeh
Very festive!
The one that sits in the corner, 'cause it hasn’t worn out.

My knees can only take the elliptical these days. Just yesterday it was the stair-stepper, and before that the track.

What is this “exercise” of which we speak?! I have not heard of such a word!
My golf push cart. 4 hours of pushing 40 lbs. up and down hills outdoors with occasional breaks of swinging a stick at a small ball.
Kettlebell, because it’s great for your core, and it’s pretty much the only form of exercise (other than swimming) that I don’t actively hate.

I play Ring Fit and Just Dance on my Switch.
