Call me weird if you want to, but although I like dark chocolate, I like peanut butter, and I regularly use salt as a seasoning, I do not like to combine either peanut butter or salt with dark chocolate. And given the number of “dark chocolate + [peanut butter and/or sea salt]” products I’ve seen here and in other clearance outlets, it looks like there’s been a serious overestimate of popularity by the people making these things.
@macromeh@werehatrack I am particular about my chocolate. Usually sticking to the European origin bars because of taste, but that doesn’t mean I wont try a pb cup if one is offered.
@Bingo It’s primary peanuts by weight so this is correct and what would also happen if you ate a bunch of roasted peanuts instead. Honestly kinda sells me on it.
@highonpez Oh, for sure. I didn’t think it was a typo or anything, I just have been focused more on getting more protein lately. So, when I saw these, I perked up. However, I’ve got to stay in a calorie deficit as well and that stat really jumped out at me in that context.

Have to agree with molin123 above. Just received these and tried one. Very disappointing if you’ve ever had a Clif bar (and I don’t even love Clif bars). Not aggressively bad, just almost no flavor at all, and weird texture. I wouldn’t be surprised if I hate them more after I have another one or two. With now it had been a 12 pack instead of 2 12 packs.
Having purchased Paleo Valley bars a few months ago and forgotten to cancel my subscription, my expectations were not very high.
I have to say that, while these are not spectacular by any means, they are better than the chocolate, apple or lemon Paleo Valley bars.
I would best describe it as a peanut butter rue that could use a tad more peanut butter.
Tried these after we received them late last week. I will agree the texture is a bit on the grainy side, but reminds me of natural peanut butter in texture. Flavor is not overwhelming, but not super artificial either. This is not something I would choose to eat as breakfast every day for 24 days, but will serve well for a quick “grab a bar on the way out the door” experience. Long term best by date means they should still be serviceable over the next several months as we work our way through the stash. Gave a handful to my vegan daughter for her family while she was visiting me this weekend. She thought they were okay as well. Not a bad price so not unhappy. I would say these are “a five” … so perfectly meh…

Raw Rev. I think I heard him preach once.
At least 2 “front page” reviews from long-time purchasers mention a reformulation in late 2022 which made these “terrible”.
One of those reviews says it includes chicory, and the sugarcane variant that’s in it is, in fact, stevia, and affected his guts just like stevia.
Lots of reviews mention inconsistency.
10% one-star reviews and no easily located list of ingredients tell me I don’t need these in my life.

Wondering if I’d be better off tossing these into a blender with some almond milk and other stuff to just make shakes out of them.

I think they are great for people with dietary restrictions. We did three orders unfortunately only one arrived.
