What is the typical % of <artshirts and catshirts>, compared to <regular t-shirts>, in these places?
Typically, what condition are they in?
So, do you grab whatever you see, even if you already have it? Or do you look for specific artists or special themes, or rare ones, or some other special catshirt/artshirt quest?
@f00l The Goodwill stores I visit most often are flat priced at $1.99; other thrift stores vary from $0.79 to $6+, depending on condition, brand perception (AA was higher), and/or the mood of whomever is pricing the items that day. A “small” store that I’d visit may have about 200; larger ones will have 800+ t-shirts.
My buy rate is under 0.1% and I don’t automatically buy something because it’s a artsy or is a catshirt. If something catches my attention, I’ll pause to take a closer look; otherwise I just keep flipping through, taking less than a second each. Unless I’m buying something to turn into a tote, I generally skip anything that’s not at least ring spun. Most of what I’d buy would be on an AA shirt or from shirt.woot. Threadless shirts are common enough, but they’ve used enough sub-par blanks that I’d consider less than a third of what I run across. TeeTurtle shirts are still rare. If it’s not at least in work-in-yard condition (very minor stains, no more than a few pin holes, or fair distress in the printing), I skip. A good number of older Woot/AA shirts fall into such “well-loved” category. Woot/Anvil are usually just because they’re shrunken up too much. I’d buy shirts just to enjoy looking at the art, so size isn’t a determining factor.
@sohmageek My candy corn just came. I used slow shipping to save a buck on ebooks. It’s almost like they wanted to drop it on my doorstep before I changed my mind. Sometimes Amazon scares me.
I saw some “patriotic” (red/white/blue) candy corn in the clearance section at a local hardware store. Didn’t catch the price though. I didn’t think different colors was even possible. What a time to be alive.
I just bought some nice, thick 1/2 price men’s socks from Payless.com No codes or anything needed. I suspect they put their socks on sale a lot because when I was in a store a couple of weeks ago they were “buy 1, get 1 half-off”
But they are nice socks. Everybody needs happy feet.
I have actually done really well with not buying anything on Cyber day. But I did just find this art kit gift for the kids from Michael’s for $20 and free shipping.
@dave
@woodhouse @dave maybe Amazon saw how well your sale of it went… and decided to try their hat in the ring???
I can’t edit again… it’s 1:20 PM EST… so 1 hour 28 minutes from now…
Oooooh. Competition!
/giphy candy corn
it’s live! $6.95 for almost 5 lbs… I guess I should have activated the 30% off coupon while it was available…
@sohmageek with the coupon it was under three bucks
@sammydog01 Three bucks too much.
@Barney
Candy corn is cheap at any price.
So says my inner there year old.
@Barney I don’t even want it for free.
@RiotDemon I don’t want any even if I was paid up to $1 to accept it.
@narfcake I might take some for $2 or more, as long as I don’t have to necessarily eat it.
@RiotDemon $2 would be fine here too. That’s enough for a catshirt from Goodwill.
@f00l Your inner three year old needs to go to her room and sit in a corner.
@RiotDemon @narfcake I’m gonna hold out for $5.
@Barney you’re expensive.
@Barney It included pumpkins. The pumpkins are the best.
@RiotDemon @narfcake only 10% has been claimed with an hour and a half left on the deal??
@growyoungagain Unlike here, Amazon customers have standards.
@growyoungagain same thing happened the last time they had the deal.
@sammydog01 Yech, pumpkins are the worst.
@RiotDemon I’m not expensive and I’m not even sure $5 would make me take some.
@Barney

My inner three year old is argumentative about that sort of thing.
@narfcake
Re artshirts and catshirts in thrift stores:
Is $2 a typical price for one?

I don’t see an option for a 50-pack… I’m out.
No stupid things that I don’t need are bundled with this candy corn…I’m out.

@mfladd That’s a nice one!
I did really well today, especially from Tom’s. Granddaughters will be happy.
Ugh, amazon has the monoprice 3d printer on sale for as low as $140 today but I don’t have quite enough to make that work
Want headphones great for audiobooks?
Woot. Appclusive. (which means you have to use the Android or iOS app to purchase)
LG HBS-900 Tone Pro Bluetooth headset.
$29.99.
Havent compared, but think that’s likely a very nice price for a pretty damned good headset.
