Grilling is for burgers and chicken, for barbecue you need a smoker, low and slow heat with Pecan and oak mix, and slabs of beef, pork, and or sausage, with that your best sides are sliced onion and possibly some pickle chips.
@accelerator
PBR is for people that are so desperate to get lit on the cheap that they’ll drink even that. It’s one of the ten most godawful worse-than-horse-piss things that don’t claim to be an IPA, and all IPAs are abominations.
@werehatrack I agree PBR is an abomination. I have boiled brats in it and it’s okay for that. The only IPA I’ve really enjoyed drinking is a La Cumbre Elevated IPA. It’s a local brewery that makes outstanding beers. My favorites are mostly Helles or other German Lagers. What’s your favorite?
Pit beans
All of the above!
texas caviar
@jmoor783 drools
One of each please, and some of this too.
Potato salad
Baked potato with lots of butter and bacon bits.
@werehatrack This. Baked potato on the grill is amazing.
Corn on the Cob
@somf69 grilled, for that true bbq side
Cole slaw. Add chopped and pickled Jalepenos for a Texas flare.
@hchavers and avacado!
Fried okra!
More BBQ!
Apple slaw
Something that can be a meal when I don’t eat the BBQ.
/youtube tater salad
@2many2no
favorite line:
" I was drunk in a bar… you threw me into public"

Grilled pineapple
Pasta salad and/or Potato salad

Potato Salad … duh!
Best sides for BBQ meats are the ones that contain even more meat:
Baked Beans loaded with brisket
Cheesy Corn Bake loaded with ham
Burnt Ends loaded with more Burnt Ends
And for dessert… one more helping of burnt ends, but this time doused in a sweet bbq sauce
All of the above, and skip the meat.
@ahacksaw That’s what she said.
@yakkoTDI Dammit! I already changed it from “hold the meat” to avoid double entendres. Guess I should have said “skip the BBQ.”
Ice Cold PBR!
@accelerator
Oh, ugh, no! If there must be beer, make it Shiner.
@accelerator @werehatrack Ruby Redbird is great with BBQ.
@werehatrack kinda said PBR to get a reaction. I’m kind of a local brew guy.

All the above. With lots of fresh cut onions, pickles, sharp cheddar slices, iced tea (sweet and unsweetened);
and lots of coolers full of ice, Dr Pepper, and various beers.
Meh? @snapster? @dave? You listening?
How about a meh-centric BBQ in Carrollton or Plano once the weather warms up?
Cole slaw.
Potato Salad
@ChadP Big fan of the potato salad @ Heim’s BBQ
