@televiper@troy The ‘similar’ device linked on Amazon says “The insect zapper runs for up to 24 hours on a single charge, while the lantern provides 4 to 18 hours of light depending on the brightness setting selected.”
3 hours would be significantly worse, unless you specifically mean 3 hours of light at the brightest setting?
@gheldean@televiper Yep, you’re correct! Thank you – it’s 4 hours on the highest brightness setting. I did see another similar listing that stated 3 hours… so lets say 3-4 hours on brightest setting, and you should be able to get 24 hours using the zapper only.
@gheldean@user52448770 Look in your giant box of tangled USB cables that you have collected over the last decade and a half. (Don’t lie. You know you have one.) I’m sure there will be one in there to justify keeping the box for another decade.
Harbor Freight sells this in black. I have one. It works surprisingly well for its size. Attracts and zaps small bugs. If memory serves the zapper function runs for about 24 hours and recharges from dead in 2-ish.
Mosquitoes are not really attracted to UV light, which means this will mostly just be zapping moths and other harmless bugs, so unless you find those super annoying I’d pass.
@twchapman yeah, I have a lot of Mediterranean geckos that hang out around the windows at night. I don’t want to take away their food source. double pass.

@mediocrebot @zippyus I have no chance against this. It’s almost as dangerous as the self-serve soda machine at 7-11.

This is the movie you should have used. These lights look quite a bit like Seth Brundle’s pods.

I blame this post for the 70 degree weather we had yesterday turning into the several inches of snow today.
