Besides not getting the Virus, what was the best thing that happened to you in 2020.
9For me, it was finally getting to see John Fogerty live in concert at the beginning of the year. He finally came to the town where we live-one of the best concerts to which I’ve ever been.
The venue where it was held combined it with their annual fund raising gala dinner at $ 600 a head (we just bought the tickets @ 225.) and everyone around us was wearing tuxedos and evening gowns and of course Fogerty came out in his usual checkered shirt and jeans and started the concert with his loud high energy song-Traveling Band. Pretty sure a number of people were not expecting that kind of concert as they got up and walked out.

Stayed employed. One kid is graduating college, the other got accepted into his dream college. Biden46.
@mike808 Can’t get much better than that.
@Felton10 I was lucky enough to see him years ago. I was gifted the tickets and thought, Fogarty without CCR, how good could it be, but went anyway.
I guess I was too young to realize his entire catalog of music. As he started every song I remember thinking omg, he sings this too?!?!?!? One of the best concerts I have seen to date!
Glad you got to see him!!!
@tinamarie1974 @Felton10 Major envy!! That was great he was scheduled prior to all the lock downs.
@Kidsandliz @tinamarie1974 Saw him the beginning of March right before all the shit hit the fan. Go on You Tube-many of his concerts are on there-along with him playing some songs with his two sons and daughter during the lock down-one of the sons tours with him in his band.
@tinamarie1974 When he split from CCR, he signed away all rights to the songs he wrote and refused to sing them for many years as he would have had to pay royalties to sing his own songs. Finally the record label he was with merged with the label who owned the rights to his songs and he finally started singing them again.
@Felton10 @tinamarie1974
Didn’t know ANY of that and CCR was one of my favorites from WAY back! You’re ALL lucky to have seen him!
@Lynnerizer @tinamarie1974 Even bought his auto biography “Fortunate Son” which haven’t had time to read yet. Then I bought an autographed copy of it just to have it.
@Lynnerizer @tinamarie1974

WOW, 40 year old memories just came rushing back! I’m 12 years old raising hell with friends like it was yesterday!!
@tinamarie1974 Forgot to mention that the other remaining members of CCR (less John’s brother who was in the band and died) went touring as “CCR revisited”. They came to the same venue a couple of years ago, but I passed on seeing them knowing who was the real CCR. John was still pissed at them so he refused to play with them when CCR was inducted into the R&R hall of fame some years back.
It definitely wasn’t turning another year older. When you grow up all you want to be is older and when you get older all you want to be is younger.
@Star2236 Isn’t that the truth. Everything I do or considered doing these days-have to consider the implications of whether it will make me feel and get older.
But I did get the virus. Ooof
@PooltoyWolf but you are feeling ok now?
@tinamarie1974 Fortunately yeah! First symptoms showed up on Halloween, and it was out of my system by mid-November.
@PooltoyWolf @tinamarie1974 Did Fenris get it also?
@PooltoyWolf good to hear!
@Felton10 @tinamarie1974 Nope, he’s hypoallergenic :U
@tinamarie1974 ^.^
@PooltoyWolf @tinamarie1974 Neither myself, my wife nor Walter has gotten. Of course, we have been hiding under our bed most of the time.
@Felton10 @PooltoyWolf good thing you got the Roomba then, otherwise it would have been dusty under there!!!
@PooltoyWolf @tinamarie1974 Thank goodness you’re okay!! I’ve lost several of my people and a couple are fighting for their lives right now. It’s aweful!! HARD!
@Lynnerizer @tinamarie1974 -hugs tight-
I didn’t miss a paycheck
No one in my family got the virus
sTrumpet lost the election
As I said on another thread, I got this big goofy sweetie-pie cat.
@Kyeh ooohhhhhhhhhhhhh so cute!!!
@RiotDemon Thanks!
@Kyeh That’s the best!!
@Lynnerizer Thank you! He has certainly made my life better the past several months!🥰
@Kyeh I wonder if I am putting myself at risk by posting pictures of Walter with all these cat people here on Meh. Maybe I am safe as long as Walter doesn’t realize he is a bird.
@Felton10 Walter is pretty big - I bet he could hold his own against a cat, with that beak and those talons!
@Kyeh It’s his beak that can do damage-has drawn blood from both my wife and I with it.
@Felton10 It does look scary sharp!
@Kyeh Not only is his beak sharp but he uses it as kind of a range finder-he bites albeit lightly when you put your hand out to take him on it so he has different strengths when he wraps his beak around your finger. You just have to make sure to put it all the way in sideways so the tip of his beak is not digging into you.
@Felton10 Yeah, I think his weapons and his smarts could protect him pretty well from any predatory cats. We’ve had pet cats fall prey to wild owls around here. I never let my cat go outside; he’d be a tasty dinner for a number of wild critters that roam around town.
@Felton10 @Kyeh
Sounds like this guy:
Skippyjon Jones, is a Siamese cat with unusually large ears, an equally large head and an unusually small tail. Since he doesn’t look like his mother and sisters, he thinks that he is a Chihuahua. He has a group of imaginary Chihuahua friends, Los Chimichangos. He lives with his mother Junebug, his three sisters Jezebel, Jillyboo, and Jujube. The stories follow Skippyjon Jones on his various adventures.
@Felton10 @Kyeh A friend’s cat brought home a half grown hawk. Broke its neck and left it on the porch. Alive. Cat had a deep shoulder cut I presume from the beak. VERY sad for the bird. They needed to have kept that cat inside. Cat had no claws either.
Wolves and other wild animals get cats and dogs where my cousin lives.
Retirement.
A new grandson to go with the perfect set of granddaughters.
@mehcuda67 A new great-grandson!
Was displaced and moved twice which is bad. But my 2nd move in December I ended up in a really nice place within walking distance of my job. So despite being inconvenienced moving twice it ended up working out and am happy where I am now.
Realizing how many things I did that I did not enjoy or that really needed doing.
I got a nice pair of tits.
@sanspoint
@tinamarie1974 Not those kind, though those are nice!
@sanspoint @tinamarie1974

@Lynnerizer @sanspoint @tinamarie1974
@Lynnerizer @sanspoint @tinamarie1974 Speaking as purely disinterested observer, I Iike the bouncing tits the best.
@Lynnerizer @sanspoint @tinamarie1974 Wow they are gross!
@cristysue @Lynnerizer @sanspoint what is gross, my birdies?
@Lynnerizer @sanspoint @tinamarie1974 Omg NO!!! Im so sorry!!! I meant the nasty ass fake boob pic!!! Yuck
Shelby, she’s a Shetland Sheepdog, now 8 months old
@daveinwarsh oh such a good pup not meh at all
Train ride though the Rockies with my wife.
Over two years of not, I drove. Sure, it was just to pick up my husband at the auto shop where he dropped off the truck, but I got in the car and drove it.
When my right hip went bad, early 2018, I didn’t trust my leg. I thought I just had pulled a muscle on the inside of my leg and it took almost a year for me to finally realize I should see the doctor. My whole right leg would just wet noodle and I almost fell a couple of times walking from one end of the house to the other. That sucker would just crumple.
The following year I had hip replacement surgery. Then there was the recovery. Then there was COVID.
And in December, 2020, I got in the car and drove.
Last week I went to the vet’s office by myself.
Baby steps.
But I sure had a sense of accomplishment.
Re: John Fogerty (I think Creedence was the first concert I ever went to, almost fifty years ago).
Do you remember when he left the band and started out on his own and the band sued him, wanting him to stop because he sounded too much like CCR?
A few really good home improvement projects accomplished which add value to my home. Lucky to be able to get that done and still work full time. Feeling blessed.
I suppose I should say my son…
Wife diagnosed as cancer free
Moved to a new house
Had a new son
Can’t call the year a total disaster, I suppose.
