I loved Babylon 5 when it was on! (Well, except for that last clusterfuck of a season.) But the weak point was always the acting, so this will probably alleviate that
Hmmm… methinks I should do a rewatch. Well, this and Farscape. (Already rewatched Deep Space 9 a few years ago )
@haydesigner DS9 was definitely under-appreciated. I saw or read about the development history and TNG was still going on (but finishing up). The new show was not supposed to “compete” with TNG or have the same style. The goal was to make more of a drama with long story arcs, rather than follow the usual each-show-resolves-itself thing (TNG had story arcs also, but not nearly as vital to the show).
I think one problem was that it didn’t work well if you missed episodes in sequence (I remember watching it at the time; this was decades before the streaming era, and even discs when they did come out were hard and expensive to find – I had to buy a UK R2 set!). So anyway the problem was that you can’t do the “appointment television” for just a week or two, you may have lost a major part of the story. I know I liked it when I watched it on broadcast at the time, but definitely missed bunches of episodes and that really affected my understanding and appreciation of the show at the time – I’m sure a lot of the audience was in the same situation.
@die13lda@kerryzero Several years after Farscape I happened across an interview with Lani Tupu where he talked about the show. That was the first time I realized that Bialar Crais was also the voice of Pilot!
Ooooh did not know this was coming out
@kerryzero Somehow NOTHING leaked about it. That’s a dedicated crew & cast.

I definitely need to rewatch before this comes out. And Farscape too, damn that was a good show.
@kerryzero It really, really was. Of all the shows that should have been saved by another network or movie-fied…

Does it say when and where?
On the WB I presume, but “look for it on digital and 4k ultra” doesn’t help.
@G1 Some details here: https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/15/23141717/babylon-5-the-road-home-first-animated-trailer
Streaming on Amazon, Apple TV, Vudu and YouTube; August 15th. Also for sale on DVD & Blu-ray.
Premier is at San Diego Comic-Con, July 20-23.
JMS says there will be a series of animated movies if this one does well enough.
I found that is is streaming for free at Tubi.com!! I just watched the first episode, and I think it only had four 15 second commercials in it.
And by it, I mean the original Babylon 5 TV series.
What is all this fuss about Baby Elon 5? No one cares about Baby Elon 6?
Ducks from all the thrown rotting vegetables
@unksol We’ll just feed you to the Pak’ma’ra.
@blaineg no thank you. I’m good as is
Lennier’s flarn probably still sucks.
@werehatrack What about Breen?
@blaineg The first problem with properly preparing Breen is getting them out of the refrigerated suits.
Oh shit.
